Worst burger of my life. The service was good, but I would rather eat grey ‘badger’ sausage rolls from Lidl than eat here again. Fact.

I wish I could give less then one star. This place is terrible! If you are going to Jamison distillery, and you are waiting for your tour to start do not go near this place you will regret it. It was over priced burgers and they were not even good. How do you mess up a burger! My girlfriends salad was also not edible. I also ordered onion rings. when we got it we sent it away because it was slimy And repulsive. The owner/manger told us we were still going to pay for it in a rude manner. Avoid this place at all costs!

Avoid this place like the plague!!! WISH I COULDGIVENEGATIVESTARS. 1. Ordered cous cous salad assuming it would be cous cous with some lettuce. Nope, it was 1 tbsp of cous cous over a bed of rotten lettuce. No thanks 2. We specifically asked the waitress regarding the onion rings and were mislead about the way they were cooked. After receiving them, we politely asked if they could be swapped for fries. The waitress took them away and then the manager? Owner? Came over and said we could pay for fries, but they«won’t be swapped because they are described correctly on the menu» and by described he meant«beer battered onion rings» written in scribbly writing(see attached picture). Beer battered doesn’t mean NOTBREADED in the English language, but it was comical to hear him loudly decree his interpretation. Thank goodness for this place sakes that they are next to the Jameson factory, or else they would be without customers. I hope saving the 3 euros it would have cost to swap the fries are worth this and all the other horrible reviews. Doubt this place will be in business for long. SAVEYOURMONEY.

Terrible customer service! All I had time for before my Jameson’s tour was a quick snack and I was told I had to order a burger or I couldn’t eat at the restaurant. So as I was waiting for my tour I sat and observed the rude waiter/busboy. Come back after tour? Doubtful.

No complaints! First of all, it’s a burger joint so just put your dieting /health conscience away, but not completely away… 1. The way you order is step by step: you choose your meat, then your type of bun, and the the toppings. The toppings section is where you see the price, so I believe the type of meat has no difference in price. 2. One of the choices of bun is a wrap, and this is where you don’t have to completely lose your health conscience. Want to eat fewer carbs? Opt for a wrap! It sounds weird, but I thought it was delicious and light! Hard to find a delicious light burger. My husband wishes he got a wrap. 3. We also got sweet potatoes fries(more like cubes, as another reviewer put it) and onion rings. Sweet potato fries were good, fresh and had that sweet potato flavor. The onion rings… THEONIONRINGS!!! Delightfully crispy, and not crunchy, as onion rings with TOO much batter usually are, and they still had that natural, sweet onion taste. Special tip: this might sound kinda gross, but the way they tasted even better was marinating them in my burger juice runoff while I ate my burger wrap. Then I ate maybe half the onion ring and put the other half with my next burger bite and put another ring in my burger juice to marinate. Mm. So good. So good. 4. Lastly, I got the jabaulani, which was bacon and egg and their relish(I didn’t like the relish), on a lamb patty. I love eggs in my sandwiches so I knew I’d love a fried egg in my burger, and I did! Delicious! To make the burger more manageable, I removed the onion, ate the lettuce and tomato, and then ate it as a burger. Tastes better that way too =p. My husband got a double beef patty with garlic spread and flat mushroom and relish(on the side) he said it was good but too much meat for him. At any rate, if you’re waiting for a tour, eat a meal there!

Really disappointed with here. Tried the one in town before and liked it. I got a salad which was a bad move. 10 quid for greasy leaves with hot potato on top. Added chicken and goats cheese for 5 quid. Couldn’t even finish it. My pal had the beef burger which was bland and tasteless. The service was so bad with one guy serving. Will not be back and would advise others to walk on.

The burgers were good but the hippy sort, piled up high and impossible to eat without a makeshift bib. Sweet potato fries are delish! Staff are friendly enough but typically hipster as expected. I think their hiring requirements probably include skinny jeans and a quiff… Not the easiest place to find, nestled in the Jameson Distillery courtyard so maybe that explains the almost empty venue.

It’s a pity more people don’t know this place is here! Nestled away inside the fairy-lit lane way next to the Jameson Distillery. They don’t seem to have any signage outside or around Smithfield Square which seems to mean that it’s still very much a secret. I was in there on Friday evening around 7 and there was only one other group there, which was a bit of a shame really, but also meant that we got lots of attention from the lovely staff which was great! I got myself a burger in a wrap, which is waaaay better than the burger bun that can be waaaay too tall. I went for beef with goats cheese and candied banana which sounds like a weird combo but is actually pretty insanely tasty. Also got the sweet potato fries which are pretty whopper. I’ll definitely be back.

We live locally, so thought it was time to check this place out, as I know that people rave about this burger chain. It has a nice outdoor eating spot and since it was a lovely day we made the most of it. We both ordered the Irish beef, but I chose the Moraka with bacon and brie and hubby got the Tladi with apple and cheese. We also ordered the sweet potato fries. However, as I predicted(as the waiter didn’t write the order down) they got the order wrong and gave us just fries instead. We both were very hungry and couldn’t be bothered waiting for them to correct the order as service was slow. The burgers were a perfectly cooked medium as requested. The burgers patties were really delicious. For once I could really taste the flavour of the meat. Its not until you eat a really good burger that you realise how much the meat is usually bland and the only flavours you can taste are from the accompaniments. Although the price is quite high, the meal was so big I didn’t need dinner(well, to be honest I did end up having a little bit of ice cream that night). I would definitely recommend visiting Jo’Burger for a flavoursome burger fix.

Very interesting selection of burgers and a great beer selection. The burgers sounded a little better than they tasted.

Great burgers, but the service is shocking. I’ve come here quite a few times at lunch. They seldom have enough staff to cope with the lunch hour rush. The last time there was only one guy serving and the place was almost full. We waited 10 minutes for our order to be taken, after I had to grab the menus myself. Burgers arrived almost 40 minutes later and we had to wolf them down to avoid being late back to work. I will say that the meat is good, the style selections are interesting and the portions are sizable. Sides are a tad expensive though. Also the onion rings aren’t great, there’s only a tiny amount of batter on them and they’re quite soggy, so steer clear. If you’re not in a rush and you’re in the mood for a good burger this is for you.

I will say it upfront: I’m no lover of burgers, in any shape or form. I don’t like minced anything and the bun, ah don’t get me started. So the opening of Jo’ Burger in Smithfield left me as cold as a G&T should be. The person I currently spend a lot of time with however loves burgers so we went the other day. Nice outside seating area, although the time limit they put on their menus for the ‘use of the terrace’(1 hour) is a bit off-putting. To my delight they do chicken fillet ‘burgers’ and lovely sounding veggie options also. I chose a char-grilled chicken fillet in a tortilla with mango salsa while my man tucked into a ginormous beef burger with some fancy cheese(sorry about the inaccurate description). To me the wrap was the perfect alternative while he was super– happy with the meat sweats that apparently define a good burger. 5.50Euro for a nice glass of Merlot is great value also and the staff was friendly and attentive. Yep, I’ll be back!

Finally Jo’ Burger hits the north-side! I am a big fan of Jo’ Burger since his first venue in Rathmines and when I’ve spotted the new venue in Smithfield where I actually live it made my mouth water. The place looks like the other venues in town and Rathmines: fresh and funky at the same time with good vibes, great music and friendly staff. The interior has plenty of space with benches to be seated. or you can seat outside for your place in the sun. My favorite style: Tladi, Naledi, Zola and of course the lime ginger jar to wash everything down. Jo’ Burger never let you down!

As a Smithfield resident the news that it would take me approximately 5 minutes from couch to door to reach Jo’Burger’s new North-side outpost was most welcome. The restaurant is tucked away in the small square between the Jameson Distillery and Christopher’s Café, perfect for post-movie analysis after LightHouse or to line your belly before hitting Dice or the Cobblestone for a few scoops. The clientele is hipster meets bewildered tourist, not far off the crowd of Joe Macken devotees that his other joints around town pull in. The menu is the same as the Rathmines branch and presented in an old annual, nice touch. The options vary from salads to the main draw, DIY burgers. You can choose a bun, wrap or nothing at all if like my dining companion you’re on a carb-free diet. Amoungst the meat options is the delicious Harissa grilled chicken that i opted for, but also lamb, beef and veggie burgers. I opt for avocado and fresh salsa as fillings for my creation, which when it arrives in front of me is not far off the size of a new-born baby. Difficult to wrap your jaw around, so best tackled with a knife and fork. The bush fries and sweet potatoe fries are the perfect side-order, although the burger is probably filling enough on its own. My one beef with the place(if you’ll pardon the bad pun) is the need to purchase everything separately. A sauce for dipping your chips in will set you back another € 2.50. Although the satay cream mayonaise is worth the extra expense on this occasion. All was washed down with a lovely Cranberry Cooler served in a jam jar full of ice. This is one of the few eateries in the city that cater for non-drinkers in an inventive way. It’s nice to have the option to drink something other than a soft drink if you’re off the booze. A meal here isn’t particularly cheap but the food is always good quality and filling, plus the staff are friendly, bohemian types who are always up for the chats. Good people watching to be had here too, pleasant indie tunes on the radio, plus the all important awning outside in case it rains. Living nearby guarantees my return but I do have one suggestion for Joe if he wants to win over the Stoneybatter/Smithfield crowd — start serving brunch!

The Jo brand creeps north of the river. Tucked away beside Jameson Distillery beside the Four Courts lunch haunt Christophe’s, there’s somewhere new to take your beard(yeah, read that whatever way you like). Industrial aesthetic, sheltered terrace, craft beer and minced cow meat cooked to order and dressed with inventive combos.(Not just cows — chicken, fish and veg can be burgered too.). If you don’t like the chips with lots of what must be twice or thrice cooked crunch, steer clear the bush fries and try the sweet potato instead. Just open a few days, the staff were really excellent steering novices through the only very briefly overwhelming menu. Fingers crossed for more sunshine and plenty excuses to max the cheeky(!) one-hour terrace limit.
