This is a keg inside the caribou lodge in banff. Super convenient if you’re staying here to stop in for drinks or a full meal. We sat in the lounge and it was great. Our server was Mark and he is UNREAL good! I remember him from a few years ago he’s that good. He told me he’s been there for 20 years! Good wine, good steak. Can’t complain. They do a good breakfast in the morning. A few menu items and a buffet. We had the buffet for $ 16. French toast, eggs, bacon, sausage, eggs benny, fruit, cereal all good!

We were told it would be about 15 to get a table, so we sat at the bar, but we were offered a table by the fireplace in the bar and it was awesome. Our server was outstanding, food was phenomenal. We both had the prime rib, but definitely get the twice baked potatoes! They have a great wine list — I recommend the Blasted Church(BC).

We were staying at the Caribou that is connected to the Keg. We ordered the large brownie room service in the evening. I really liked the brownie. It was cut in half and served with two scoops of vanilla ice cream. It was fun for me and my partner to eat it in our room. Romantic and tasty. In the morning, we had breakfast at the Keg. The service was bang on. Our server and hostess were very friendly and accommodating. My partner is a vegetarian who needed a lot of substitutions. She had a no-egg benny with a substituted fruit salad. They did not have any vegan options but they were able to substitute out options to make it work. Unfortunately, what we were left with was a basic, barely passable meal. On my end, I ordered the steak and eggs breakfast. The steak was well cooked but small. They basically took a steak and cut it in half. Everything else was average. I left feeling full but not satisfied. I should mention that the usual buffet breakfast is only available on weekends during off peak season. I did not get a chance to check out their dinner menu. Ad

I love the atmosphere of this Keg location. Our server was friendly, and after our meal, she ran out into the lobby looking for us to return something we had forgotten on the table. We enjoyed our dinner here!

Are you kidding me? I swear we didn’t even eat in the same restaurant that I raved about just about a year ago! Firstly, they have hiked up the prices from the Calgary Kegs. My sirloin Oscar(my favorite dish) was $ 9 more here!!! The prime rib Keg classic dinner is also about $ 9 more which my hubby usually gets. I can understand a couple dollars now and again but it was appalling and I have no idea why they’ve done it. We could’ve eaten out at a really high class establishment for what we paid. What also irked me was that we came on a Monday evening and were the only customers for some time and we go sat at the tiniest table beside the freezing windows. We ended up moving and the hostess seemed irritated by that. The bread they brought was not soft and fresh– it was chewy and tasted freezer burnt. My virgin lime margarita was so sour, I couldn’t drink it until I watered it down– and then I got charged $ 5! I might as well have gotten the tequila for that price(however I can’t as I’m pregnant). My husband’s steak was very chewy and although I didn’t think mine was, he tasted it and thought it was quite chewy too. The bearnaise sauce came in a tiny silver tumbler and it’s oly about an ounce– I remember my steak coming smothered in it before and the scallops were very rubbery. The only good part of the meal was the appetizer– baked garlic shrimp with herbs and cheese(and those buns were clearly fresh) and the Billy Miner pie which is pre-made. We’re still irritated to find out the prices are so much higher in Banff than my hometown. We will NEVER return to this Keg again… we’ll opt for something like the Grizzly House for the price!

This keg has great service and lots of seating room so we didn’t have any problems getting a table. Food was pretty good. Everyone in our table of eight felt that the steaks were WAY too salty, even compared to other Kegs. The rest of our food was pretty great though.

Good, solid restaurant. Enjoyed the 6 oz. sirloin and cheesey mashed potatoes.(Appreciate being able to order a smaller cut of meat.) Competent service and good wine. Husband’s only complaint was seemed like a chain restaurant rather than a dining experience unique to Banff.

I was pleasantly impressed with this place. Most restaurants connected to a hotel lobby are overpriced and have less than mediocre food. But I have to admit I was happy with my servers’s reco of sirloin steak(8 oz) which had a sauce on the side that I didn’t use. The steak was seasoned so it didn’t need it. Also included shrimp(small) and scallops(small) and grilled vegetables and a twice baked potato(my side pick). $ 40CAD. Server was great. Ended my Banff trip full and happy.

We had dinner with 5 friends. Service was very good and drinks promptly served. Everyone ordered various steaks and I ordered the 14oz prime rib. When the dinner was served it was very obvious the prime rib I ordered was barely 10 oz! Our friends also commented on the light weight piece of meat. When I mentioned this to the waitress she said this is what I had ordered and I said it was light but she just walked away. She did not mention anything to the manager although in hindsight I should have asked to see the manager. The meals were delicious but the light prime rib left me with a sour taste. The Keg needs to step up and deliver what they advertise in their menu. Very disappointed! The manager needs to ensure the customer receives the cut and size of beef they order.

Excellent service even in very busy conditions. We went twice during our stay in Banff. The first time was early on a Saturday night, and the second was on Friday night when it was very busy. We had watermelon mojitos and lobster rolls both times. They are both delicious.

Food: 5 stars Price: 4 stars Service: 1 star No matter how the food is, if the service is ghetto, I won’t come back. Our server, a young(but not too young) guy, dark kinda curly hair, chubby, was super unfriendly and rude. He didn’t check on us, say thanks or your welcome or give refill. We were not so hungry so we just ordered a New York Peppercorn steak($ 41), a French onion soup($ 9) to share between my husband and I. He must have not liked that. Food was selfish though but we had a hard time swallowing.

Excellent place to eat we have been here many times and the service and food is fantastic. If you can’t get a table in the restaurant then find a table in the bar area and ask for the restaurant menu if your a sports fan than its ideal with 4 screens to view

This KEG is my favorite among all KEGs I have been to and I have went to bunch in Canada and this is the only one I am writting review on. First, great décor and very convinient if you are staying at the lodge. Second, excellent customer service. Third, a bad steak replaced prompty with a good steak. I had the tenderloin and it was so chewy because there was a long connective tissue in the middle. I complained and they replaced it with something that melted in my mouth(both were medium cooked). I loved the potato sides and veges. I went there as a group and they took 40% off of my meal. Very nice — will come back.

The Keg was located in the Caribou Lodge and Spa where we were staying. We had wonderful service, our waitress recommended some attractions and even knew the schedules for several things going on the weekend we were there. After our meals(which were perfect) we ordered a Billy Miner pie which was more than enough to share. Great experience and well worth the cost.

I was travelling around Banff with friends and we went to the Keg for dinner. The Keg is not normally a place I’d go, but we were hungry and someone in our group wanted to go there. The food was actually pretty good, but the service was really bad. Bad enough to ruin the meal. Really annoying because our server, and others, were just standing around talking.

Excellent service is what sets this restaurant apart from the others in Banff. You probably know exactly what you’re going to get and that is in fact the case. Another great experience including a delicious steak and of course the double baked potato which is a must try.

Outstanding selection of entrees. Several in our party had prime rib($ 29 – 35) which includes one side of potato or veggie. I ordered mine med-well and it was properly cooked, but the meat was tough and chewy. Those who ordered it less well done were pleased.

Yes, everyone. It’s true. I’m from Seattle, traveled across a couple states and up into Canada, and where do I eat? The Keg. lol To be fair, the Keg was located in our hotel and sounded absolutely amazing after a long hike up into the mountains. Well, it turned out that the food was even more amazing than I could have imagined. We had apps in the bar of sliders, mushroom neptune, and something else I can’t remember. Either way, we were so happy and satisfied. I could probably have ordered another round of sliders just so I could taste their deliciousness again. Sigh. Sweet memories, oh Canada!
