The atmosphere was fun, lots to look at and experience. Food was pretty marginal, server was okay, but pretty young/inexperienced.

Cute place. The food was more reasonably priced than other places in Banff. Really enjoyed the burger, fries and veggie quesadilla.

Outstanding Pub Food! We had the clam chowder in a bread bowl the cost under $ 7 dollars. Very fillings and delicious with large chunks of bacon. Staff was great too. If you can find McDonald’s than you can find Tommy’s.

Service was good. But the uncooked chili and flavourless chili and the black spotted lettuce in my salad was a downer. And the fact that as I’m writing this review my girlfriends stomach is doing things that boys don’t talk about girls doing. Yeah. So beer yea. food no.

If two times makes it a tradition, then my family now has a new one. Stroll along Banff Avenue, shopping, buying fudge, eating Cow’s ice cream, etc. until late afternoon comes along. Then its off to Tommy’s for the Pub Platter. You’ll find it under the Lighter Fare section, which doesn’t really make sense since the Platter is basically deep fried bar food on a bed of onion rings and fries. The deep fried pickles are my favourite. A couple of beers and a few pickles and I’m ready for another round of shopping, or a nap! Although it doesn’t look like it would, Tommy’s allows children, at least during the day. The service is pretty good, the beer is cold and the atmosphere seems pretty friendly. Other menu items look pretty good but I really come for the deep fried pickles. I’m tempted to give it a four but I haven’t really tried enough of the menu to do that, yet!

I have eaten here twice. Having fish and chips once and a steak sandwich the other time. The prices here are fantastic, probably the cheapest I have seen in Banff. The food is pretty good for the price you pay. I like the atmosphere of the pub as well.

I decided on this restaurant after having passed by it the day before, and doing some research online. We had already checked out the prices and menu. You don’t really see this restaurant from outside, as you have to go down a set of stairs to get to it. The restaurant itself seems more pub first, and restaurant second although there is ample seating. We walked in, and they don’t appear to sit you so you just sit anywhere you want. Not a big fan of that sometimes, as you never know if the table you get is going to be clean. Karen and I split a hamburger which was good, and my Mom had a Panini which was also good. Fries were perfectly done and consistent, so we enjoyed the meal overall. It was above average, but not the best meal we’ve ever had. Little busy, and too much going on. Service was ok, the server seemed kind of indifferent about us being there, maybe she had had a long day. We were sitting directly behind the servers station, and she simply turned around and dropped three menus on the table and didn’t say a word. It wasn’t terrible service, but she didn’t seem like she was in a good mood or wanted to be there. I never got a chance to use the washrooms, but my girlfriend said they were clean, but nothing fancy.

I didn’t go here for beer. I went for the food special they had. I got the steak sandwich and my wife had the beef dip. What we got were like beef jerky sandwiches. The food was way too dry and chewy. The fries and onions rings were cold, the sprite my wife had was flat and the service was subpar. It was bad! Bad enough for me to write a review! I gave it 2 stars because I didn’t try the beer.

Good stuff. Apparently so good my father in law dragged the rest of us there for supper after he had already been there for lunch. The FIL loved the steak sandwich… hence making the rest of us go there. The beer battered fish was not heavy(had some oil but not terrible). The house salad dressing is great — mellow, fresh, and refreshing. The reason it’s not getting 5 stars? It’s fucking loud in there. The place was only half full and it was it was ridiculously loud.

Good little joint to pop into for a beer and a bite. Nothing fancy and that is what I prefer. Service is slow but the food was decent — I had the steak sandwich special and it was under $ 10 — great pricing for Banff.

Good food, good service. HOWEVER, they don’t take Interac. It’s cash or credit cards only. So be warned.

I have been to Banff a lot and everytime I’m there, we have to hit Tommy’s. The staff are wonderful and we have never had a bad time here. The food is great! We have dinner or lunch here at least once or twice during our time in Banff and love it everytime. I had the steak sandwhich with onion rings last time and they got my steak perfect! I’ve had their elk burger before, it was my first elk burger and I gotta say, it was pretty good. I’m always impressed with Tommy’s, always. The staff are friendly, the food is good and they keep my drink filled… can’t complain. Give Tommy’s a go the next time you’re there, you won’t be disappointed.

First time in Banff and I decided to hit this place up for a late nite bite and a beer. This place is a-ok. It sits right on Banff Ave so it’s on the main drag for plenty of people watching. They have a decent selection of taps, nothing really special. A lot of the standards like Rickards and Keiths. Also the food is decent. Again nothing special. They had a pretty good soup that day. A steak chowder. My only complaint was that the service was a bit slow. Otherwise it was a decent pub.

Just about every time I’m in Banff, I end up at Tommy’s for lunch or supper. It’s a cool tiny bar tucked away in a basement off the main strip sidewalk. I’ve always had a good time here. Their menu is a little weak(not a lot of choices), but there’s always something good on it somewhere. But mostly, I like Tommy’s to just grab a beer and sit on their patio. You can usually end up meeting a lot of interesting people here…
