I’ve followed Sara over the last from Metrotown to New West to Lougheed. She is absolutely amazing!
When I was younger I had a lot of hair insecurities. My hair is very thick and curly and grows a lot faster than the average person. Over the years I’ve had different hormonal treatments for my health and my hair has become unhealthy due to this. I’ve had stylists in the past absolutely butcher my hair because they don’t understand that thick curly hair has to be thinned out and properly layered to avoid the «triangle affect».
Her prices are a few dollars more than the other girls in the salon because she goes to workshops and is constantly learning new things.
I trust her judgement if I want to try something different or she suggests a new style. If I need any new hair products, she has a lot of knowledge in the area as well.

Here’s the thing: my hair experiences here have been outstanding. This isn’t a «cool vibe» salon. Décor is franchise chic and music is top 40 (I had fun hearing 90’s songs I had completely forgotten about).
I have curly hair and finding tress satisfaction can be challenging. I have found it here each time I have come in.
The most recent time, it was a last minute decision and I was welcomed as a walk-​in. Asked if I wanted coffee, tea or water I was then ushered immediately to a stylist.
Helen had done my hair once before and she listened carefully as I explained what I had in mind. She made simple adjustments that complimented my face shape and engaged in conversation easily or let me rest when I felt like it. This sweet woman knows how to shampoo curly hair. She isn’t afraid to get all up in there.
I HATED my previous hair cut from a very fabulous Vancouver salon and knew some care was needed SOS. Still, I did not have time for a hair cut that day AND was a bit nervous about having it cut by someone new. Helen assured me she could be fast and just freshen the bottom and layers. She did so and I am finding my blunt ends so much easier to style at home.
My hair style was beautiful. The curls and texture were fabulous. I have had excellent care and service from front desk staff and stylists. Helen even gave me an umbrella to keep, so that my hair would not get wet when I left.

Had my hair fixed for a price… Over $ 80 plus tip. Conversed with an associate of Chatters with nothing more than a discount offered.
I recommended that their stylist not use a razor as I have lost 8 inches of my hair as a result.
I spent three years growing it out and five minutes losing all of it.
The least they could’ve done was offered my money back and not the tip!!!

A very reasonable $ 39 for a shampoo, cut and style. The stylist was competent and knowledgeable, especially with my thick coarse hair. It’s a mall salon and beauty supply store rolled into one. Convenient location and competent stylists. Front desk staff are friendly and polite. Also, you get discounts for referrals and product purchases.
The front of Chatters looks like it just sells beauty products, but behind the merchandise is large and well-​equipped salon.

Visiting Vancouver area with family and my two boys wanted a haircut. Walked in to this salon and was immediately helped, the staff was fantastic & so helpful.

I can’t speak for the hairstylists here but the customer service when it comes to products sales is awful. I shop here on a regular basis for all my hair care product needs and I had bought a shampoo/​conditioner that I wasn’t happy with that I wanted to exchange (not even return) but it was a few days over for their return policy. The manager wouldn’t even come out from the back to talk to me, the retail girl didn’t even notify me when she was back from talking with the manager and left me aimlessly walking around the store for 15 minutes until I saw her standing at the till chatting with her coworker. The manager at this «store/​salon» has always rubbed me the wrong way, she is not a people person and not overly friendly. I am waiting for a call back from a higher up so I can tell them about her and this is my experience. I will be taking my business to Zennkai, WAY friendlier staff, they value customers and their products are cheaper to boot.
