Because my father(a retired builder) dealt with Chesneys for over 40 years I called this company in an attempt to switch furnace services. I needed to switch from my furnace installation company because I found they were charging ridiculous rates. I began to realize the seller and installer of my furnace were milking ridiculous fees for their services. So I called Chesneys because we’d dealt with them for so many prior years. I found that I got the same stories as the other company and are using the same legal gouging methods as the other companies. Now I’m looking for a private licensed plumber who is not an opportunist who is in the habit of holding customers for ransom. I tried to discuss the terrible reputation Chesneys has on Unilocal but the person I spoke with was a master stonewaller. I was unable to get answers to three of my questions. Instead she skirted the important questions. I did give her a star for patiently staying on the phone while I asked questions. Some people would say that goes without saying. While I’d agree with that point of view it appears that common courtesy is not to be expected anymore. Therfore I give her a star for courtesy. The other star is required to make a review.

I got a $ 15 discount card in mail. Called and had to wait 2 weeks for an opening to have a tune-up I took the 8am slot so I would be the first appt of day 8 am comes a long and the office calls to let me know they guy will be along shortly. At 9 am still no one. I’m steaming now… a wasted morning… I call the office and tell her… and all she manages to say is «Geez» Fabulous customer service NOT

Terrible customer service. Placed an emergency call and no one even bothered to return my call. Very poor customer service. This company is known as Services Expert Heating and Air Conditioning effective June 1, 2011. Beware!

They quoted me $ 110 less a $ 25 fee for first time customers PLUS any PARTS required to service the furnace. When the repair man gave me the bill it was $ 270. I called the service line again upon hearing this and asked how much it would cost for someone to come out right now, and he said $ 110, and he said they would honour the $ 25 discount. Then I informed him that the repair man had said $ 270, though no parts were needed. He got flustered and said«well whatever he says is right». The repair man said there was«NOSUCH thing as a $ 25 discount for first time customers», though if you look at the website, it states clearly there is. He also said it was a service call on the weekend so that was an addition $ 30(no mention of this on the phone), and his time was worth $ 140(though on the phone he said $ 110 unless there were parts required). NEVEREVER use this company unless you want to be surprised(badly) about the final charge. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, I hope that it either changes it’s sleazy business tactics or it gets shut down, in a world where service and prices should be competitive, there is no room for unethical business like this. What a horrible experience. Since then they have listened to my issues and refunded me the $ 110 they charged. I appreciate that they took the time to listen to my claim and refund the money. I still believe that as a company they should have better information communicated via phone so that customers can know what they should expect in terms of costs.
