Yes, it looks like a convenience store. No, there are no white tablecloths. Then again, who cares? I will be the first to admit, I am generally NOT a fan of seafood, but Water Prince won me over with a wonderful chowder and a fish & chips that was out of this world. My better half said it was the best lobster she’d ever had, and she has certainly had many. Make sure you call ahead for reservations – we got INCREDIBLY lucky and got a table as a walk-in almost right away, but 10 minutes after we were seats, they were telling newer walk-ins the wait was two hours or more.

without the doubt, the best lobster in PEI. Fresh catch as old as 24 hours. Sit there, order one, enjoy with butter. Dont need alot of compliments just go!

The one and unique place to eat a very good lobster at a very good price. Very tasty, well cooked and the waitress was very helpfull.

Visited on my birthday the last Sunday in Septemeber. The place was full, but we had reservations. They moved people through quickly. Great place to get a whole, quality lobster. I particularly loved that they completley took all the meat out of one for a lady with young baby who couldn’t balance baby and lobster at the same timeWe Shared it with chowder and enjoyed immensely. Can’t get enough lobster in PEI!

Tried this place based on the recommendation of the visitor center. We were looking for a quick bite before going back on-board our ship. Had the fish and chips — tried both the halibut and the haddock. Both were quite good. Fries were very good. There was quite a crowd waiting to eat, so it took some time to get a table and get served. Was worth the wait. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a casual lunch.

We stopped by for lunch and my husband ordered the 1 pound lobster. Although it took some time he said it was worth the wait, he loved it. He had a difficult time breaking the pieces apart lol but loved every moment of it. As for parking, there’s one hour free parking by the lake and paid parking which is $ 1.50/hours, fairly reasonable. Waitress was very nice and provided a cute guide on how to eat a lobster which I thought was quite amusing :) see attached pics… Also the place looks small and weird but food was great… very popular might I add

This place looked pretty nice on the outside when I walked by on Sunday night. It was my first time in Charlottetown so I thought I’d give it a try. Sadly other than looks can’t say many good thing about my experience here, especially the service. I ordered fish and chips. They messed up my order and gave me the deep fried fish instead of the pan fried. Didn’t get much of an apology for it: «oh well the waitress who got your order went home» The fries weren’t anything special either. Can’t say I’ll go back next time I am in the city.

We had found Water Prince through a list of chef Michael Smith’s recommended restaurants in his hometown. So imagine our confusion in seeing«Corner Shop» on the placard! Would we really be having a sit-down lobster dinner in a convenience store? Turns out that it’s only named as such because it’s literally a shop on the corner of a street. Heh. Embarrassing. Now, onto the food! First off: be prepared to pay what you’d basically pay in the city for lobster aka what I would condider moderate pricing. I think if you opt for the 1 lb steamed wine & garlic mussels bucket as the appetizer though, you get more for your dollar. The other option is for chowder, which the hubs also said was enjoyable. Lastly, pick a side like baked potato or fries. The whole place has a homey, diner-like feel. Friendly servers and a strong community vibe means locals and other tourists alike may chat with you during your meal. I think all in all, a nice experience, but I can think of a few other spots on the East coast that I’d prefer based strictly on their lobster supper…

We had an absolutely delicious meal with the friendliest island service you could want. We were there on a Sunday, so unfortunately they had run out of a few things(like clams & onion rings) but we all loved the things that we were able to order. The fish and chips were fresh and melt in your mouth delicious. The chowder was top-notch and came with a lovely, warm home-made biscuit. Two of us had the Scallop burger, and it could have had one more scallop on it(it comes with 4) but the side potato salad and coleslaw were so tasty and home-made. The casual setting is very unique and fun. It’s a tiny spot so you’ll definitely need a reservation! But it’s so worth it! The absolutely best part of my meal(even though everything was pretty perfect!) was Bonnie’s homemade Coconut Cream Pie. That happens to be my favorite flavor of pie, so I’ve sampled quite a few over the years… ;) Bonnie’s Coconut Cream Pie was, without question, one of the BEST pies I’ve ever tasted. So much coconut, and instead of the pudding-like base many use, this was more like a custardy-cake base with the flakiest crust and delicious whipped cream and sweet toasted coconut topping. Just the perfect ending to a pretty perfect meal!!!

I ordered some food to go. This place is always crowded and I have to say the seafood here is really good! The sautéed scallop especially. I saw a lot of people ordered the mussels as starters(huge size as appetizer) also the seafood chowder is amazing

Excellent seafoods, the deep fried clams are golden and crispy. My mom had the lobster platter she really enjoyed, and it also came with a bowl of mussles that we shared. There isn’t much of a beer selection, although that’s not what they are famous for. In addition, you can buy cooked lobster(cooked to perfection) and take them with you. Service ws excellent, has a old time dinner feel to it.

This is a great place. The steamed blue mussels were tremendous and the lobster was succulent. The lobster bisque was very tasty. Went later in the evening and it wasn’t crowded so it was less hectic. Well worth it. Great quality, reasonable prices.

Most touristy lobster place in Charlottetown. Almost always crowded with tourists. Basic food, no magic here, but decent. If you are here only for a day and wish for a first basic and fresh lobster dinner, this likely remains a sure place to go. I had a much better experience at Cardigan Lobster dinner 2 days later, thus only 3 and not 4.

Came here for lunch with the family one day… Got here around 11:30 before the weekend lunch crowd… Was quiet until noon, then the lines went out the door! Seems a bit difficult to find parking if you’re not doing the paid parking lot… Most of the street parking seems to be for residents only and by permit only… The food was excellent! We had the lobster roll, the scallops burger, oysters and mussels. Everything was delicious! There’s not much else to say except that I would definitely come back again! The décor was also interesting, with license plates from the 50 states and various Canadian provinces. One thing to note, the bathroom is located close to their kitchen area, so be careful of waiters/waitresses moving about with food for customers. There’s a small bar and also outdoor seating.

Like this place so much we went twice in the same day. Both meals started with sweet, crisp tasting oysters. Amazing. First lunch. Two of us had clams and chips. Amazing, tasty fried clams on a heavenly bed of chips with a teeny cup of(bland) coleslaw. Good sized meal. One had the lobster roll. I had a bite. Good but I like the bun buttered and toasted. The other two had chicken fingers because they were boring. Dinner. Three of us had lobster dinner. Mussels(or chowder) your choice of potato and yummy, sweet lobster. How can you go wrong? The mussels were almost a meal! So good. The other two had burgers because they were boring. I would go here again. And again.

This whimsical spot is ideally located, with amazingly fresh seafood. The oysters were clean, salty and the perfect size. The mussels were seriously the best I have ever had — again, very clean and fresh, tender and delicious. I enjoyed watching locals drift in to pick up their retail orders while enjoying my meal. I would go back tomorrow!

Delicious and great value. Mussels were fresh fat and juicy and came as a surprisingly large portion for just a side to the lobster dinner. Oysters were tender and lobster flavorful. Fries also came in a healing portion and were perfectly crispy. Potato salad was lackluster– really the only complaint here. Great location near the waterfront

This tiny hole in the wall epitomizes the island lobster experience, with fresh from the tank beasts that comes with soup or mussels and a local baked potato on the side. It’s a little pricey at about $ 35 for a pound and a half lobster, but it’s so sweet and succulent you’ll quickly forget the price. The place is small with only a dozen or so tables, so reservations are highly recommended. Local beer and wine is also available. Much fun and better than the larger, more commercial places that tout lobster meals in a sterile setting.

I wrote the same review on their facebook page. It’s worth re-writing here… A-MaZing Ownership of this little corner shop. Walking in was like walking into family-arms… The staff are so friendly and it has such a nice atmosphere to it, rustic, homey, diner-esque & then some. Shane really knows what he’s doing… I liberated a lobster after a bad experience at another place and he was so supportive, he came with me to ensure lady Lobster was where she needed to be. :) And the fOOd, Oh man… The scallops, muscles and potato salad are all deliciously delectable. I’m originally from Toronto and went for two blissed out weeks last summer, next time I’m in Charlottetown, I’m trying more seafood GoodNess! :)
