Unfortunately this is a place for wannabe gangsters and drug dealers to hang out with their«girlfriends», do blow in public and compare who has the bigger gold chain and better track suit. This club boasts old men and their«rental dates» for the evening, blow donkeys and like I said a bunch of little boys who think they are bad. Don’t bother coming here unless you missed the circus and need some entertainment. Be sure to bring your bullet proof vest! Seems like Edmonton can’t have a night club anymore without it being ruined by dirt bags. This venue is big and conveniently located downtown on Jasper Ave and 100 Street. Décor is minimal, sleek and the theme is black and red, like«XO» soya sauce which I have been told is the inspiration for the name and color scheme.(I am being 100% serious!) I have been here several times and agree with the other reviewers. Tickets are generally useless, no matter how much you spend on them, bouncers will still try and make you wait in line and when you reach the door they try to force you to pay cover on top of what you paid for your ticket. It is a big scam. Also, bouncers will refuse people entry as an attempt to make the club seem busier than it is by giving the appearance of a line up outside, but if you peak in the window, or actually get inside, there is more staff then patrons. Hurting… I know that most clubs and bars will do this but XO is notoruis for blue balling patrons. ALLHYPEWITHNODELIVERY. Bottle service and drinks are also overpriced and not worth your time. VIP area is no different and not roped off from the rest of the bar. Have fun fighting off drunks from sitting at your table! People do dress up to come here.(Oh yeah please note: the mandatory coat check… You are lucky if you even get the right jacket back. or if it isn’t stolen)

I’ve gone here on several nights in the past couple months, and generally, have had a good time! I haven’t found other clubs like this in Edmonton with a similar vibe — more like a downtown club that you’d find in a bigger city than Edmonton. They’re busier on Saturday nights, but I’ve found I prefer the music on Fridays(more hip hop vs. strict dance/electronic stuff). The bartenders are generally helpful and work quickly, when the club is really packed(Saturdays or during popular events), they tend to seem overwhelmed/understaffed. The staff has always been friendly and courteous. The coat check has been a bit hit/miss the first few times I’ve gone(in the winter), there wouldn’t be someone working it and the line would get ridiculous. Otherwise, fun club, always been a good time. On average, people come a bit dressier than other clubs/bars in Edmonton than I’ve seen, but you still see a mix of people with all styles of clothing(in other words… you could come dressed up in a minidress and heels, or in a nice top with jeans and flats and not feel out of place). There’s an ATM inside. Most of the«booths» are just couches around the dance floor, with a couple of actual booths and sequestered areas off to the sides. The VIP area above the DJ is kind of unremarkable and could do with more decoration or something.

Wanted to have my birthday party there and called the club for the birthday package. They quoted 350 plus gratuity and gst to be 420 so I booked it!!! Had fun there so many people I knew so won’t lie about that but don’t get me started on their VIP wow what a joke. They sat us on a couch in the middle of the club absolutely no enclosure or nothing … I spent half my night fighting every random person who decided to plop down on the couch every time we got up to dance … And what’s with taking the bottles in the back they told me the bottles were not allowed to stay at my table??? About an hour and a half into the party I was rushed to hurry up and pay that it was policy where the ran 495 bucks through on my visa … Very bad biz I’ll never return to that Rip off club EVER!!!
