Meh… I wasn’t impressed a lot of hype not much substance. The burgers are over priced for what you get. The Top Dog poutine was overly salty. The waitress was friendly and on the ball.

The food is good here, however management needs improvement. It’s not acceptable to let customers wait at the door for five minutes without being acknowledged. Even if busy(which has not been the case in my experience) it is important to acknowledge your customer instead of leaving them standing at the door wondering if anyone has noticed them. This has happened a number of times here, and there have been at least two times I’ve walked out because of it and given my business to Famoso next store.

I’ve been to the other Delux in Crestwood several times. I always like Delux. It’s a little pricey, but the burgers are pretty good and you can build your own burger. The Terwillger location of Delux seems okay. My friend and I stopped in for a lupper(too late for lunch, too early for supper hence lupper). She got the special of the day a mushroom angus burger(advertised as bison, but I guess they were out of bison). I got the breakfast poutine — full size. It was ginormous and when it arrived the waitress apologized because the chef thought I’d ordered one of the other poutines(the one with ground beef). So I got a breakfast poutine with ground beef. The waitress said she could take it back and get it remade, but I said it was okay as it is. I mean extra food and no extra charge, who am I to complain. Okay, it was a little salty with the beef, and the bacon and the gravy(plus the cheese curds and the fried egg on top). I think a half order poutine would be more than enough for next time. I just got the poutine — I know a full order of poutine and a burger would be too much food. The waitress was very friendly and the service was quick(although it was like 4pm when we were there). If I’m in the area again and craving a burger I’ll stop into this Delux again.

I just moved into the Magrath neighbourhood and so far it’s been a real treat getting to know my local businesses. Deluxe Burger Bar tops that’s list so far. First off, it’s just a really nice space. It’s well laid out, cozy and trendy. It certainly encourages it’s patrons to want to hang out and have a couple beers pre and post burger feast. And speaking of beers, we were there on a Wednesday night and they had a $ 5 any pint special. With taps like Sapporo and Shocktop you can’t go wrong. Now to the burgs. Oh man. My date and I split a make your own burger and onion rings which along with the couple beers was a perfect amount of food. We went with the kobe beef, added cheese and lobster, we really went for it and it paid off. The bill was around $ 50, a perfectly reasonable sum. I’ll be back again and again.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I feel that the Century Hospitality Group tends to cater to a certain type — proud truck-driving Albertans who vacation in Las Vegas and like to class it up every once in a while. DeLux is their version of one of the fancypants«Burger Bars» that every Vegas hotel seemed to have a few years ago — right down to the retro-chic décor. I only visited once for lunch, but I thoroughly enjoyed my burger — The Delux. And I liked how it was served to me medium-well, though I’m not sure if that was the intention. No matter what, it was juicy, with a great balance of flavour from the bleu cheese to the caramelized onions. DeLux is certainly more expensive than Red Robin, but worth the splurge. Service was on the slow side at lunchtime, so it’s definitely not a place to go when you’re in a hurry.

Mixed feeling about this place… good for take out… urban classic is a classic… however rest of the menu is so so… sit in big problem… too small, and gets busy very quickly… service is good and manager is nice… but beware when u order take out… check if u got all the items and if the beef patty is properly cooked… happened to me a couple of times on take outs…

We tried Delux for the first time today. Wasn’t too bad. Really love that they have organic options and their beef is antibiotic/hormone free. We were one of 4 tables with 5 staff on the floor, and our glasses stayed empty for quite a bit. Our server was nice, just a bit distracted. Food was decent, however over priced. We’ll go again if we in the area.

I’m not particularly a fan of the Century Hospitality restaurants and I hadn’t been to a Deluxe BB location in a few years so I decided to give it another shot the other week. The atmosphere is cool but when you bite into the burger it is such a let down. Their overpriced burgers(and sides) are so disappointing that it brings tears to my eyes. Nobody in my party enjoyed their eats and nobody would come back. The burgers sounds delicious from the description but in reality they are boring, dry, and void of any sort of flavor. I don’t know how the Century Group can keep these locations afloat let alone keep expanding. It’s really not that hard to make even a decent burger and somehow Deluxe Burger Bar fails. DONOTGO.

I was pre-warned by friends about the prices of Delux Burger Bar but wanted to try since I’m a burger lover and had a gift card to spend. Service did not start off well. It was a Saturday afternoon at around 3:00pm and I stood at the door with no acknowledgement from staff for at least 1 – 2 minutes. I eventually just grabbed a seat with my husband. The restaurant was about 1⁄3 occupied. I ordered The Delux burger. The burger itself was delicious, but really nothing special compared to any other restaurants that serve burgers. I’m not sure it was worth the $ 12.50 I paid with no sides. The service did pick up and get much better. I think the manager started helping out on the floor since there was only one server working. The truly appalling thing I experienced was the price we were charged for fountain pop. We were charged $ 3.50 for a non-refillable fountain pop that was filled with over ¾ with ice. Ridiculous. I will not be coming back.

I forever struggle with the star rating for Delux Burger Bar. After reviewing the Crestwood location, and the(now closed) West Edmonton Mall location, I still have the same issues with this Delux location. My meals at Delux have never been terrible, but are consistently and thoroughly underwhelming. Similar to the Crestwood location, this location does not have any space to wait for a table(either sitting or standing), and due to the compact size of the restaurant, this is such a pain. When other people come in after you, there is this awkward standing dance in the narrow entryway. On our most recent visit we had a short wait for a table, which I credit to going at a later time on a weeknight. I decided to go with a build-your-own burger this time around, selecting some favorite burger toppings. The bun and fixings were great, very fresh and plentiful. The burger itself was a lot of meat, and pretty bland. It tastes like they don’t use a lot of seasoning while making the burgers, which just makes them boring, and the size makes them difficult to digest. We waited forever for our food, having been in the restaurant for an hour before we got served. Our waitress apologized for this, but it still just made me over-hungry. One of the reasons we decided to go to Delux was their Cowboy poutine, which had been fantastic on previous visits. The poutine this time was awful. I think it got set under a broiler or heat lamp when we were waiting for our burgers, because the curds were completely melted into a mass in the center of the bowl. By the time it got to us, the cheese had started to cool and pretty much just stayed in that big lump in the bowl. We asked our waitress about the poutine, and were told that this is how poutine is supposed to be served and if we don’t want our poutine served this way, we should tell our server in the future. I will add that the fries at the top were black around the edges — a sure fire clue to it being heated after preparation. She took it off the bill, but it came off as a bit of a lecture — we order poutine regularly at a variety of restaurants, and the curds should be soft, and never totally melted. I’d put Delux as a solid 2.5 stars, but have to round down to 2 for overall dining experience and quality of food.

The boyfriend wanted to go out for burgers, but we didn’t want to travel too far so decided on this place. He ordered the Kobe burger and I had the out of the water fish burger; we also shared some fries. We both enjoyed our burgers, but the fries were a bit on the soggy side. I would say their food is average, but their service is stellar.

I had a bad experience 2 years ago at a different delux, so I hadn’t been back since. A friend asked me out for lunch and enough time had passed so we figured we should check it out. Our server was fantastic, the manager came to check on us twice… The service was as good as it gets. I ordered a create your own burger with onion rings, havarti cheese, bacon, tomato, butter lettuce and chipotle mayo on a brioche bun. I ordered their beef burger. It was without a doubt one if the best burgers I have ever had. My only regret is finishing my meal, because a burger and full sizes order of onion rings is a lot of food. Can’t wait to go back!

I shall keep it simple. I think by now most of us know that this is not a cheap place to get a burger fix but they do allow custom ordering to a degree and a few odd but nicely placed items. Service was good but it did take a bit to get greeted and that I shall forgive. we ordered two custom burgers, a veggie burger, Nathans hot dog(his name was Nathan after all) and a sandwich of some sort that i can’t quite recall. Any flavours were appreciated by all but we all noted some things. Very small amounts of toppings. I had 3 pieces of lettuce on my burger, and slap me if I am wrong, but I like a touch of crunch from crisp lettuce. This was a trend on all the items we ordered. We did not mind the french fry basket but it was nothing special for the price. I won’t get into it but search Kobe Beef and you will see that this is not quite accurate on the menu. Service was good, food was good but pricey for the attention to it’s detail. Not a lot to praise or complain about but I personally was not blasted by a sudden ingrained future need to revisit. And that was after pops picked up the tab lol!

My boyfriend and I have wanted to try this place for a while. We went on a Saturday at 3:00 pm, which was very smart as there is only about 15 small tables in the entire place. I would never try to go here on a Friday or Saturday night. The place was very clean and the waitress was nice. There was a manager(we think) walking around and checking on things as well. We got the popcorn shrimp and cheeseburger poutine to start. The food came out fast and was hot. The meat that came in the poutine was not appetizing to look at or eat. I do not think it was angus beef. We then waited way too long for our burgers to come. Three tables that ordered after us got there food before we did. All we got was an apology and when the burgers came mine had no sauce even through I asked for two on the make my own burger option. For a place that brags about organic and no hormone type of beef it sure didn’t taste like it. There was nothing spectacular about this place and our $ 80 bill at the end just seemed odd for your typical burger joint. I would not recommend it.

My brother-in-law suggested this place, and everyone in my husband’s family seemed to enjoy it. While the little carts of fries are super cute, the actual fries weren’t very good. The burgers either. I’d honestly rather go to Original Joe’s or Red Robin. My favorite part was leaving, not because it was terrible(it was alriiiight), but instead of mints they give you COTTONCANDY. Hell yes. I need more cotton candy in my life.

Way too crowded. Felt like I was going to a nightclu for my supper. There was an arrogant manager walking around trying to act impressive by going over to every other table to chat with people, and he always had time to yell at the servers, but when issues came up in the FOH he was never around. The food was good, but $ 14 for a burger with no side dish? A little bit too expensiveThe burgers are hand made and taste great, but there are better quality burgers in this city for a better price than this.(Nextact, Soda Jerks etc) The Fries A-La-Cart is cute, but gimmicky, and the carts take up a lot of valuable real estate on the table. Service was very good. The waitress spilled a drink on my friend, but cleaned it up promptly and took his dinner off of our tab.

I totally dig the vibe this place is giving out. I was never rushed by the server, I hate when they do that hoover around your table, like moth to a flame, what happens you get BURNT. Anyways the food was superb, loved loved it. i enjoy that its not so damn bright in here either, sets the mood ;). The staff are pleasant to look at and talk to. the food came out really fast and looked great. This seems like the laid back area you can hang out with friends, take a date or for that power lunch. it has it all and it shows.
