Sarcoa Restaurant & Bar

This is an amazing restaurant. They have locally sourced food. A lot of the prep is done onsite. For example they smoke all their prosciutto. Bacon and meats onsite. Beautiful view of Hamilton Harbour. Great for all seasons. Such a friendly welcoming wait staff!

Nice location and lovely patio. Serious service issues — we sat for 20 minutes without a wine list and had to get up and ask for service — we almost just walked out altogether. Staff walking back and forth every 2 seconds ignored us completely — they don’t make eye contact with anyone and look quite stressed out — so the real problem here is likely the management. The food finally came — the charcutiere board and calamari were quite good, good steaks, but a terrible ill-​conceived lobster dish was drowning in salt and butter. Coffee was complimentary at the end and our wine bill was reduced voluntarily due to the overly bad service. The Interac/​Visa machines are set up for an automatic 20% tip (you can change it if you want) — hilarious considering the awful service. I suspect the patio lunch might be enjoyable, but a $ 250– dinner for 3 should be spent somewhere else.

Great Patio! But, service was lacking, we had a table of 8 and it was not very busy but it took a long time for our order and drinks.

What in the hell is wrong with this place?
Literally, they have the absolute best location in Hamilton with a giant, new patio looking out at Lake Ontario. They have a modern interior and bar. They have a lounge area outside with heaters and even a stage. They literally have everything you would want in a trendy and beautiful spot on the water — but they can’t perform.
Been here over 3 times. Opening times are sporadic and the restaurant regularly shuts down on busy days of the week for private events, or just because. The service is slow and the waitresses subpar. They forget orders and don’t ask if you want another drink? Honestly because of location alone this place would be GREAT even if the food was awful. However due to the bad service and inconsistencies this place is two thumbs down.
I have come out on a warm day looking for a spot on the patio. Ok get out there. No one serves me. I walk inside and ask why? No food or alcohol being served on the patio? What? So I grab my beer from the bar and walk out. Then my girlfriend gets cold… I ask if we can use the heaters they have outside — No we have to come inside. We just left.
Place is poorly managed and it’s obvious. Wish they would sell the place to someone who can run it properly.

Delicious halibut and short ribs. Food was expensive but worth it. Only problem was that dessert was a little disappointing. The cheesecake was very creative, but super small. The service made up for it; it was top-​notch. Will go back.

The inside dining is lovely. The prices are high but the food was almost perfect. Except the cheese share plate we started with. That was boring and not worth it. Everything else was amazing! I can’t wait to eat here again!

checked this place out on Friday — amazing ambience — sat on patio for dinner and then drinks after — turns into a club with DJ — food was avg — kinda pricey — but atmosphere was great with the view of the water on harbour front — the bar doesn’t take credit though — only cash so had to use ATM
Also outside they only have bar rail drinks which was kind of disappointing for such a nice venue

The Restaurant was busy, very loud and felt like sitting in a cafeteria bright and poor acoustics, after sitting 20 minutes no staff in the restaurant came over to ask if we would like a drink or even acknowledge we were there.
We decided to leave.
