Great food, but the ambiance and the décor was a little offsetting. The price was reasonable for the amount of food I was getting on one plate, and it was really filling. Will definitely come here again.

the service was horrible, and the food took almost an hour! and when we got it, it was really poor quality and not a whole lot on my plate and its well over priced.

DeDutch is a Kelowna Institution. We make sure we take the kids here every summer for our vacation. Reasonably priced food, great service and delicious coffee. Pancakes are fresh warm and filled with any delicious concoction you crave. From granola to ham to fruit to eggs. Make it a stop for sure.

A different experience, but well worth it. We tried this place while visiting kelowna and learned about a different culture. The food was good, a nice change from the usual pancake and eggs served in so many other breakfast places. The menu was informative, with lots of little tid bits of information. The price was not bad either, fair value for your meal. The service was pretty good. Our waitress checked on us a few times. The biggest flaw with this place was the décor and ambiance. The food transports you to Belgium and/or the Netherlands with its flavour, but the lack of décor and ambiance takes you there in a plain box, if you catch the meaning of the expression. I would have loved to experience the full cultural experience. I will nevertheless still recommend this establishment for the quality of the food and service and will return when returning to Kelowna.

Great food but I have to give it one star for not having wheelchair accessible bathroom. Even after a renovation. They need to wise up!

Decent breakfast place. I have always found de Dutch restaurants to be a little over priced but it’s a decent place to get a god breakfast if there is nothing else around. Great coffee and friendly staff. Parking is easy to find

Used to eating IHOP and Cora’s for breakfast, so time to switch it up to something different. Found this place on Unilocal and noticed the 3 stars but thought I’d give it a shot anyways. There were no line ups which was nice at 10:30 am on a Sunday. Had the Granola Pannekoek, not too bad. I would say the regular Pannekoek without anything in it is probably better as it’s fluffier and lighter. Family had an assortment of eggs Benedict and eggs and bacon. All looked like your standard affair and we’re decent. I would definitely go back to try the other Pannekoek’s.

Fantastic, servers were very professional. Portions were Dutch unique and large. Good coffee. Nice little chocolate with tab.

I have always enjoyed De Dutch, but am generally deterred by the massive crowd in the mornings. I find the decorations and general feel of the restaurant very cute and homely, and its a nice spot for a breakfast, brunch or lunch. The prices are about average, and the ingredients are fairly high quality with fresh ingredients and generous portions. I love their signature pea soup, it’s filling and flavourful. I tried their spinach salad recently, and really enjoyed their dressing. The service at this location was fine, friendly and efficient. They make great hollandaise sauce too =)

I can’t speak for authenticity, but I can say is was still hella tasty! This place specializes in the large, flat pancakes not too unlike crepes but they do offer an extensive mixed brunch menu. If you’re tempted to try one of their grilled cheese sandwich creations, feel free but make sure at least one person orders a Dutch breakfast so you can sample the rich and buttery pannekoek! I ordered the veggie hash with hollandaise and it made the perfect mash up of savory brunch food. Not wanting to miss out on the dessert offerings, I rolled up a bit of whipped butter, blackberry jam and maple syrup on the other half of the pancake and it was amazing. The portions are pretty huge, so you can totally score a box of leftovers too.(or just skip second breakfast and waddle back to the Shire) Our server was hilarious and prompt, and the food came with all sorts of condiments and jams to suit your tastes. The décor is pretty bland but with any luck you’ll be too engrossed in a delightful carb overdose to care.

Well, lets just say it’s a sad day today. I have been coming here for years, every time I come to Kelowna it requires a stop at DeDutch. Always with expectations Blown away by both service and food quality. Well today will be my last time here. Sad day… First warning sign was big sign saying Under New managment, and then the restaraunt was dead. And never before has it been anything but packed. Service was fine, lots of swearing and talking could be heard from the kitchen. Food was bland and flavorless, portions were half what they were in the past. But prices remain the same. Sorry to say Aux Revoir to the DeDutch. Will have to find a new Kelowna breaky spot.

The only reason why i came here was because i received a gift certificate. When all the food is coming out of boxes and processed to the max, its hard to find any real flavors in the food. It just kind of falls flat. I would consider this food high on the junk food meter, so it worked well for me because i had a hang over. When you have to coat most of your meal in ketchup, you know it lacks taste. I don’t think the Dutch would be very happy that their country has been transformed into fast food.

Voters in various Kelowna newspapers supposedly vote for De Dutch as the best breakfast spot in town. This doesn’t surprise me, as there doesn’t seem to be too many options in town, and De Dutch serves pretty good food(albeit with soulless, institutional décor). The pancakes DeDutch serves are thin, but dense, unlike the lightness of your typical crêpe. And like with Crepes, DeDutch serves the various accompaniments on top of the pancake, rather than to the side. Dutch people eat pancakes more often with dinner than they do with breakfast. Because of this, DeDutch serves a number of savory pancake toppings, a nice twist. For traditional Canadian palates, they also serve a number of sweet options to top off your pancake. I also like how you can order full carafes of Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice at a discount. If you’re in Kelowna and you want to go out for breakfast, you could do much worse. There are two locations in town — this one is typically less busy than the other.
