This is my wife’s favourite restaurant in Kingston, and frankly the only thing I like about Kingston. We stop by Sima every time we drive by Kingston, and I mean every time because the sushi is that good! Very tasty and creative rolls and the fish is always fresh. Will continue to return!

Stop getting that cheap all you can eat stuff and come to Sima for some real Sushi! You feel very welcome when the chefs greet you upon arrival and thank you when you leave, like a true sushi restaurant. BESTTUNAAROUND.

Great for fast food type sushi. The rice here is phenomenal… I usually order sashimi but have taken to getting nigiri because the rice is so wonderful. Best age dashi tofu in Kingston and their service is superb. The spicy salmon is very different than any other spot, less mayo and more spices which I didn’t really care for but all in all a great spot downtown.

Great local spot! Fantastic food and service. My only critique would be that they cut the fish too thick — maybe in an effort to show good value?

I arrived in Kingston a mere hour ago, and I’m already in love. This place is just a couple of blocks from the waterfront, and a short walk from my hotel. I can easily say that this is the best sushi I’ve ever had. It’s like they made their menu specifically for my personal tastebuds. I almost didn’t come to this spot because it is rather freezing outside, but decided to go for it. They serve a lovely hot tea of sorts instead of water. Between that and the miso soup, I was instantly warm. I am a salmon fan, so I ordered the double salmon roll. At the last minute, I flipped the page and spotted a butternut squash tempura roll, and my curiosity was instantly peaked. I added that too. Divine. Salmon two ways… yum. The butternut squash roll was crazy good. Glad I stopped in.

Really enjoyed this place. The specialty rolls are HUGE — I was stuffed after eating one and a half rolls. Also loved that the rolls had tons of filling inside and weren’t big rolls of rice. You can substitute for brown rice for $ 1.50 which I thought was a great option. It gets really busy here, even on weeknights and the dining room is pretty small, so try and come early if you don’t want to wait for a table.

Cozy and elegant sushi restaurant with excellent food. We have eaten lunch and dinner here, and even ordered take-out when we are quickly passing through Kingston. It is fantastic. My husband and I used to come here a lot when we were still in university and even through the restaurant is quite small and very popular, there always seems to be an extra table. I highly recommend the«love love salmon» and«double salmon» rolls(we are salmon lovers) — the mixture of flavours in these rolls is lovely. The staff and service is great, they are efficient, attentive and yet not in-you-face. It’s located on Princess Street so parking might be a bit tricky, but the downtown core of Kingston is beautiful in all weather — the walk is certainly worth it!

When you first walk in you’ll see that the door is on the left side of the restaurant, you’ll notice it’s a little small, seating just under 35. It was very busy when I went, around 7:00PM. Seats and tables are set fairly close to each other. The restaurant is clean and humble, which has a comforting feel. Their service is good and they’re very friendly. The food came out quickly as well, took under 15 minutes. Also the prices are very good compared to sushi places in Toronto. The sushi itself was fresh and they had different varieties of fish which all had a really good taste. I have had fresher but this is too stuff. They had the usual Salmon, tuna, white tuna, octopus etc. but also had some very different fish and rolls as well. The menu is simple, easy and straightforward. The only improvement I would suggest is having a larger, more shareable item on the menu.

My BF had a serious craving for sushi at 11:45am while we were strolling along Princess Street so we ended up trying Sima Sushi. As soon as we walked into the restaurant, the chefs greeted us with a quick hello. I like that ;) The waitress was super sweet about us taking our time to order(I was having an issue that morning for a minute wrapping my head around eating raw fish that early in the day lol). We ended up ordering one of the lunch specials and a special roll. We were brought two miso soups and one garden salad. I liked their dressing, which had a stronger red pepper taste than other Japanese salad dressings I have had. Enjoyed the few bites I had of the items we ordered, which was spicy salmon, california roll, and the Rock Star special roll. We ordered all without fish eggs, as the BF no likey. I liked how clean the restaurant seemed and also that our waters were very cold(this sounds like a small thing but it was actually awesome). Little milk candies accompanied our bill — thank you Sima!
