This place is around the corner from where I live so I decided to try it last Saturday. I looked the menu up online and chose the dinner for 2. $ 31 online. They tell me 40 mins. I show up 45 mins later and it’s not ready and there are 3 of us waiting. It took 1hr 5 mins for this little order. The worst part is that they bait and switch. …it’s actually $ 5 more!!! Food was ok but for the price and wait, never again.

We were in the area and decided to give this place a try. The owner/server is definitely a person of very few words. Although the service isn’t bad, the establishment does not make any attempt to make you feel welcome. We ordered a non-veg combo platter that included tandoori chicken among many other items. The so-called tandoori chicken was a small chicken mcnugget size piece of white meat. ??? The food didn’t taste very fresh and it got cold very quickly which suggests that it was just reheated and served. The butter chicken we ordered didn’t taste right. It did not have the proper flavour. The gulab jamun dessert was spongy and tasted like the ones you buy from Superstore and reheat in the microwave. We had to wait a really long time for our bill and finally went to the front. I noticed that the kitchen area is very small, dirty, and disorganized. We were quite disappointed and would not dine here again.

Great development of flavour, lovely fluffy saffron rice. Had the medium lamb vindaloo. Medium is fairly spicy so get mild if you don’t like heat. The mango lassi was AMAZING and is a great counter to the heat of the main dish. If you like an authentic Indian experience, it’s worth checking out.

Ordered out. Came fast and hot. Very tasty but no rice? How am I supposed to eat mutter paneer without rice?? So, I made my own. Kinda defeats the purpous of getting it delivered! Right? Rice comes with it, but not here, okayI’ll remember that… Also, if you order papardums, you only get one for $ 1:00.Really? How cheap! Otherwise this place has great tasting Indian food.

So I arrived early to meet a friend who I was waiting for 5pm dinner. The owner just stood there and looked at me. No greeting or welcome or would you like to be seated nothing. So I just sat my self down at a table, all of the tables were empty as I was the only customer. Their house is connected to the building so you can hear people talking while you are eating. The door that connects to the house is always open. Once my friend arrived we started looking at the menu as it was on the table, then the server arrived and asked us if we were ready. I ordered shahi paneer and garlic naans and the shahi paneer did not live up to my expectations in the past when I ordered it here the sauce was thick and the cheese pieces were big, this time the sauce was watery and the paneer pieces were like ¼ of the size they used to be and they didn’t put in much paneer and charged me the same price. I felt ripped off. my friend had the vegetable biryani that was so hot to eat. He started sweating so much and then had to order raita to even it out, still the sweat was pouring out of him and he looked like he had come out of a shower. I had no idea biryani could be so unbearable. Also, the server was not very helpful we did not feel very welcome and the food was just bland. We kept running out of napkins as most of them were used to clean off the sweat from his forehead.

I just moved to New West and I was told that there was a really good Indian restaurant just around the corner from my house So after working along day at work I was really excited about trying this so called amazing place out Well here’s what happened to me so I go in and sit down to look at their menu and I decided to order some butter chicken and some nann bread and some rice It took about 30 min to cook and the place was empty the whole place smelt weird kinda like mold and seeing the kitchen throw the opening by the bathrooms looked so dirty and grouse I wanted to cancel my order and don’t forget about the bathrooms I seen a couple cockroaches dead in the sink So I get my food and the rice was so over cooked and I have never seen this before but the butter chicken was not prices of children it was chicken ground up it looked like ground beef It cost 30 dollars for this meal and I took 2 bites and throw it out

N-o-p-e. Their Butter Mutter Paneer game is weak; got little chunks of paneer that were the size of a pea. Their Butter Mango Chicken was even worse; it was overly sweet, still glazing from whatever mango sauce they put in. We ordered the food 40 minutes ahead of time, online, and when we arrived there, they weren’t even ready with our order. I saw them rush to the big ticket that was clearly ours, and they came out to tell us that they’re getting our order ready now. 10 minutes later, food is «ready». Hence the result, with Butter Mango Chicken that was way too sweet and glazed, and Butter Mutter Paneer, pathetic with those little pea-sized things they call«paneers». This place is definitely not for me. I’d rather go to the other Indian place, in Burnaby, called Indian Bombay Bistro. Never here again.

Just moved to New West and I will never order from this place again. Overpriced we got 2 dishes naan samosa and rice and it was $ 50. The samosa was deep friend and you could taste the oil the filling lacked flavour. The mango butter chicken was all sauce and way too sweet with NO meat it was so bad same goes for the lamb curry only 4 pieces of meat how can you charge 15 $ for that. I learned my lesson and will go to Surrey or Fraser street in Vancouver if I want Great Indian food.

Butter chicken was mediocre. Lamb curry was pretty good but there was more bone than meat. Our meal took a long time to get to us, though the waitress was pleasant enough. We won’t be going back for two reasons: 1) The food was just«alright» and the portions were small for what they’re charging. 2) They are on mobile bandit and when we sat down, it didn’t occur to me that I needed to tell them until our bill was being drawn up. When we sat down the waitress asked if we had a Mobile Bandit coupon to use. I’d forgotten and said no. Once I recalled that I did, we told her and she went flying back in to the kitchen to tell the chef. I think they provide different quality meals if you have a coupon, which in my experience using Mobile Bandit over the last few years, is not standard protocol.

When I lived in South Burnaby & New West, I’d often order the Butter Chicken with naan bread! Perfect level of spice & flavour. Quick delivery and it always arrives still hot! If you’re in the New West/Burnaby area and looking for a good East Indian take-out, give this place a call.

Great, genuinely spicy curry from this local restaurant. It’s our go-to for Indian food when we’re not in the mood to cook and service is always polite and friendly.

Have tried this restaurant a few times now and the food is always excellent and super delicious. For unique Indian food — I highly recommend their«mango butter chicken,» along with the tikka masala and garlic nan. Great service and very clean as well. The only thing to be aware of is the prices are a little bit on the higher end but definitely worth it!

Are you kidding me??? We decided to check this place with an entertainment coupon and after reading great reviews on here. The portions are way too small and the mango butter chicken tasted like ketchup and sugar cubes. With what amounted to about ¼ of a chicken breast, $ 15 was way overpriced IMHO. Oh, and canned mushrooms in their rice. I’m not an expert on Indian food, but even I could tell the cuisine was severely westernized.

The Entertainment Book coupon is what lead my husband and I to this place, but we won’t be going back. It’s great when you find a hole in the wall place with amazing food, but this place is really just a hole in the wall joint that’s overpriced. The rice and beef curry was good, but not enough to entice us back. We were at the restaurant at 6:30pm hoping to have Tandoori chicken, however, we were advised they did not have any this evening… The restaurant name is called Royal Tandoori… and it’s not like we were there at the end of the night… plus one of our orders came with dessert, but the server never came back to check on us so we did not get our dessert and we even had to go up to the counter for our bill. We were the only couple dining in the restaurant. We ordered Tandoori prawns since they did not have chicken. The dish had 8 small prawns on top of a few scattered pieces of cabbage/slaw. The«prawns» were dry, burnt, and salty all for $ 15.95(pre-tax)-yay for us!

Came here for dinner last night at the advice of fellow Unilocalers. There aren’t a lot of Indian places in New West, glad we came here. Food was definitely good for Indian in the area, as for the service it was mediocre at best. Caught off guard a few times by the gentleman that served us throughout the night. However his politeness and an apology for being«busy» and«forgetting» at the end of the night could have possibly made up for the satisfactory service we recieved. I’d define this place as a hole in the wall located on 6th Street. The inside however is nicely decorated and clean. Wouldn’t necessarily define it as modern but suitable for sitting in and enjoying a nice meal. We ordered butter chicken, naan, rice and papapadum. The food was a highlight, very flavorful and the medium spice was just right for our liking. The spice was not too mild but not overly baring, where you are gasping for a glass of water. Didn’t get a chance to try any other items, and although the service was just okay, I would definitely come back. This isn’t the best Indian joint I’ve personally eaten at, but I’d come back considering it’s a convenient Indian joint in the area.

Tried Royal Tandoori on a whim last night and was pleasantly surprised! The man on the phone happily agreed to swap the chicken dishes out of the dinner for 2 and gave me a few choices on what to replace them with. We ended up with the channa curry, which was was excellently spiced(I asked for medium, perfect), and a generous bag of pakoras instead of the tandoori chicken. The vegetable biryani was spot on, as were the naan bread and papadums. We ordered to pick up, and everything was ready and well packaged when I walked through the door at the 40 minute mark. The gentleman that greeted me was enthusiastic about having a new customer(I told him I had never been there), and assured me I would be happy with my choices. He was right! The dining area/décor was clean and understated, and correct for the neighbourhood. Royal Tandoori let’s their food do the talking, which is how it should be. We ended up with enough food for dinner AND lunch today, and for the price we paid combined with the overall quality, that cannot be beat. This is my new go-to for Indian food in New Westminster.

We are in town visiting from the States and didn’t have access to Unilocal before finding this place(we found it in the GPS in our car). We were hoping for a lunch buffet and almost didn’t go in because it doesn’t look very big from the outside. But we gave it a shot anyway … and ITWASGREAT! Family owned and operated. The owner explained why no buffet and he made some good points. We ordered: Vegi Korma Chicken Tikka Misala Saag Paneer(which they call(spinach with cheese”) :) Aloo Gobi They were all fantastic. Rich flavors. The only thing holding me back from giving 5 stars was the décor. It is dated and tired on the inside. But the food is wonderful.
