Lunch on the patio– Service was fast and friendly. French onion soup was excellent in spite of a bad review I read on here. I would recommend it. I ordered the Ruben panini and my wife got the slow roasted shaved prime rib panini. Both came with salad and French fries. We both took half each. We agreed the prime rib was better choice. The sauerkraut on the Ruben was a little strong. Probably wouldn’t order that again. But would come back

My wife and i were quite disappointed with the service and food. She wanted the orange roughy but want mashed potatoes instead of rice, they said no… really? I ordered chicken skewers and they had too much garlic and were not very good. Lastly, we were sitting outside when it started to lightly drizzle out. When we asked to move to an open table under shelter our waiter said he’s not sure because thats another waiters table… really? It was even busy at that time. 2 bad meals, bad service, a good beer and glass of wine for $ 92…really? Take your business elsewhere, plenty of other restaurants

Take advice from a local! Tourist trap. Mussels served cold and tasteless. Burger was not good either. Calamari that was grilled was also tasteless and cold. I would highly recommend that you go to Treadwells, Zees, Back door or Two sisters. Don’t get trapped here!

Had a lovely dinner. The front patio was perfect for a nice summer’s evening. Service was very friendly and surprisingly quick. Front-of-house staff were very confident in the abilities of the kitchen, and the kitchen delivered. The village salad was great — everything fresh, local and in season. Entrees were very good, especially the risotto. Some good local wines represented on the wine list, some available by the glass. The only things holding back the fifth star: at this price-point the fake-marble fiberglass tabletops seem a little déclassé, the paintwork was a little grubby and the desserts weren’t as good as the rest of the meal. Some tablecloths, a little elbow grease and desserts sourced from a local bakery and it would be perfect.

Our first stop for a sit-down meal in Niagara turned out to be an overpriced and underdone dinner. We were first presented with a menu that included a page of wines, but only four that could be purchased by the glass, and those glasses cost $ 9 or $ 10. After perusing the menu, which is $$$-$$$$, we decided to split the calamari and the seafood pasta special, which included shrimp and mussels. In the meantime, we were served dry rosemary bread with hard butter. The calamari was ok, but certainly could have been jazzed up a bit more. I liked that it was grilled. The pasta, however, left much to be desired. The shrimp AND the mussels were cold, and not intentionally. When we mentioned this twice to the waiter, once for the shrimp, and once after we discovered the mussels were also cold, he told the chef. That’s all. No comp, no attempt to right this travesty by adjusting the bill. Arguably, it is the chef’s poor decision for letting this happen, not the waiter’s. Bad form. Don’t waste your money here.

My wife and I were ravenously hungry and this was the first restaurant we came upon after exiting our car. I wish we had parked at the other end of the street. My wife had the Grill Burger and I the Classic Burger. I asked for cheese and was told they had none. After checking with the kitchen the waiter discovered that indeed they did have cheese! Later, upon perusing my bill, I learned they charged me $ 2 for the thin slice of dairy madness thereby bringing the total charge for the burger to $ 17. Both burgers were cooked to a near stone-like consistency lacking ANY discernible taste. My wife took only one bite from her briquette. When the proud, cheese-producing waiter cleared our plates he looked at the entire burger she had left but did not ask if anything was wrong. Bottom line: AVOIDATALLCOSTS! And, park at the other end of the street.

We have been to this restaurant a number of times and they have really been consistent with the quality of their food and service. My favorite is their Grill Burger, which is s burger with a slice of eggplant and tzaziki sauce. It comes with salad and fries. We usually walk in without a reservation. Sometimes we need to wait for a table outside, but so far it has worked out nicely.

I’m definitely a big fan of this place, in fact, I stop here for lunch every time I’m in NOTL. The décor is beautiful and sophisticated and the service is outstanding. A great place to sit back and listen to some relaxing jazz music after shopping all morning On this day, I had the Veggie Panini($ 14.00) which consisted of grilled red pepper, eggplant, zucchini, caramelized onions, oven roasted mushrooms and feta cheese all together on a toasted panini. The dish is accompanied by a salad of mixed greens with the most amazing raspberry vinaigrette and fries. It was fantastic and I would absolutely order this dish again. At first the panini was the star of the show until I tasted the salad. This is, by far, the best raspberry vinaigrette I’ve ever tasted. The fries were clearly hand cut and cooked to perfection. This dish is a definite winner in my books! My husband ordered the Slow-roasted Shaved Prime Rib Panini($ 16.00) which consisted of aged cheddar cheese, roasted red pepper and horseradish mayo but was actually served on a ciabatta bun instead. This dish was also accompanied by a salad of mixed green and fries. He thoroughly enjoyed his sandwich and even went as far as to say, he felt it was worthy of 5-stars… and that’s something, coming from him! Overall, a favourite place of mine and I will continue to come here every time I’m in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
