Amazing Chefs Table experience tonight! Food was amazing, service was fabulous and the chef was awesome! The risotto appetizers were perfect! Entrée spot on and the peanut butter brownie was to die for! Perfect way to end the weekend.

Came for dinner with the family(2kids), ordered an appy and meals for everyone. My husband and our daughter got their meals pretty quickly, appy arrived with the dinner which was a little disappointing. Our waitress told us that my and my 7yo sons meals would be right up. No prob, wait about 5 or so mins and she comes back saying it was sent out to the wrong table, our dinners would now be with us in 3 minutes. At least TWENTY minutes later our food finally arrives!!! Our waitress was very good and she clearly felt bad, but even after this huge mix up, our bill was not compensated at all. Very disappointing evening at this restaurant.

Heard great things about the burger, but was sadly disapointed. Burger was burnt and dry. Friends had the the braised short rib sandwhich, which was great. Next time I’ll have to get that.

Absolutely the worst experience so he had in a very long time. Service sucks, screaming kids at the entrance right beside the patio with no parental control. The waitress walked by us about 6 times and didn’t even stop to take our drink order. When we went to the bar to order there was 6 waitresses just standing around talking to the bartender. The food was nothing to write home about but the yam fries were good. Expensive for what it’s worth.

My friend and I stopped here for a late lunch. The service is great. Someone is waiting to seat you as soon as you walk in. We sat on the patio, which is great by the way! Couches as well as chairs and tables, a couple fire pits. The had the Bellini as it was on special today. They have specials for every day of the week! The Bellinis were amazing! For food we got the fish tacos and I got the cauliflower cheddar and beer soup and my friend got the seafood chowder. The cauliflower soup was okay. It needed a little more spice or something. It didn’t have much taste to it. My friends seafood chowder was fantastic. The fish tacos are like a meal in themselves. They’re pretty big and it comes with two! The food came out fast, our server was great! Super sweet and made sure we had everything we needed. The meal is pretty inexpensive. The inside is very nice. Very rustic, woodsy with an industrial touch. Super cozy. Smells like an old pub in Europe. Love it. Outside, they have blankets on the back of chairs incase it gets a little chili. Overall I love this place and can’t wait to come back. I wish it was located in a different area. The view from the patio is the parking lot and road, which is meh. And the cauliflower soup is a skip. But it’s still a pretty inexpensive nice place with good food and great drinks.

I visited Brew Street last night for a mother’s day dinner and was disappointed in the service we got. Upon entering the restaurant, we waited a full 5 minutes for the hostess to appear to take us to our table. Upon entering, we realized that the restaurant was nearly empty, which we thought would be a good sign that dinner would be speedy, because we were all hungry. My sister and I arrived before the rest of our party did, so we got 2 menus, and upon being seated, I promptly asked our waitress for more menus as well as a round of waters for the table. Neither of these came. In fact, even after the 4 other members of our party showed up, and even after the waitress came back to our table to take our drink orders, extra menus were never brought to the table. Though the six of us figured out what we wanted quickly, despite our menu shortage, our waitress appeared infrequently throughout the night, and we waited upwards of 15 minutes for each round of drinks. We were happy and pleased with the quality of our appetizers, which came super quickly after ordering. However, we waited a solid 40 minutes after the appy plates were taken away for our food because of a mistake with one dish we had ordered. Someone who I think was the manager came out to explain the delay and gave my dad a salad on the house while she brought the rest of our dinners out, but his dinner was an extra 15 minutes behind all of ours, so by the time we had all eaten half of our dinner, he was just getting started. After the meal,(which was delicious!), it took ages for us to flag down our waitress… or for us to even see her to flag her down. We then had to ask 3 times for our leftovers to be packed up. We left the restaurant 2 hours later having a delicious meal, but feeling rather frustrated by the slow and inconsistent service.

The place is spacious for a quick Sunday brunch lots of seating. Service was good but for the prices considering its pub food and the food quality it’s not worth it.

It’s so refreshing as a group in the industry to call ahead at 1 am to say we’re coming in for power hour and the response to be excited and over the top friendly. When my group of 35 – 40 people arrived just after 1 we were greeted by both kitchen staff and front of house staff saying they were waiting for us and excited to have us. The girls made the end of our night memorable and took care of us beyond what I could’ve expected. Thanks Dallas and Dani we will definitely be back!

Sad to see the ratings for this place so low. I finally decided to try this place for lunch today. Ordered the Bison/Chorizo burger with garlic fries and it was brought to the table on a cutting board with a small pail of fries. The presentation was really quite nice, the bun was brushed with butter and was warm and soft, the meat had a hint of spice and was reasonably thick and juicy. Very delicious. The fries were the standard thin style(like McDonald’s), but had minced garlic and parsley spread throughout. Add this to the fact that they have over 50 types of beer on tap and you have a pretty experience. Food prices are at the higher end for pub fare, but the food isn’t generic like what many pubs would serve. I will go back.

Popped in Wednesday afternoon, sat at the bar, and our server(didn’t get her name) was great. If the owner is reading this, keep her! The fish tacos and beef dip were very good as well. However… The liquor store next to it needs a redo.

I checked out Brew Street for the NFC wildcard between the Seahawks and Vikings. They had a nice selection of craft beers and had one of the biggest TVs I’ve seen at a bar for watching sporting events. I ate the Kale and Sweet Potatoes hash. I had low expectations on the food because. well, we were at a pub. However it was extremely good and I would not hesitate to go back again. Good food, good beer selection and a pretty darn good venue for watching sports.

I’ve had the opportunity to eat and drink at Brew Street for brunch, happy hour and a couple of dinners, including New Year’s Eve. I want to rate them 3.5 stars but dropped to 3 because they’re not quite 4 stars for me(yet). The NYE dinner was a decent value at $ 35 for a 3-course meal, but you always get what you pay for — in this case, the food was alright but very stingy portions for some items, such as the caprese salad. The tomato was sliced very poorly and quite thin and the pieces of cheese were pathetically small. The basil was chopped instead of using the whole leaf, so the whole salad looked a bit anemic. I had the prime rib for my main, and 1⁄3 of the meat on my plate was just fat — so gross. When I mentioned this to the server, she did not seem to have a clue what to say or do, so she said, «I’ll mention it to the kitchen» and walked away. I’m sure she never did, because when she came back to the table, she didn’t say a word about it. I usually tip quite well, but shaved off a bit because of that. She either had no intention of saying something or she just forgot. I had the tiramisu for dessert but it was basically lady fingers and whipped cream. I didn’t expect much after the first two courses, though. Service was a bit scattered the whole evening and we chose not to stay for the party afterwards — turns out that was a good thing, as some of our friends had gone later that evening and ended up leaving to join us at a house party. They said Brew Street was seriously understaffed for the event and they couldn’t get drink service as the line ups were ridiculous. Oh well. On other occasions when I’ve been, the service is either really great or really bad. Mixed up drink orders, forgotten requests like cutlery or napkins and most likely, just inexperienced young girls working there. Most of them don’t have a clue what’s in the food or what types of beer they have, yet others are very knowledgeable about the whole menu, so like I say — hit or miss. Hopefully the inexperienced girls are just new and not dumb. I’ve worked in restaurants for many years and I know how easy(and difficult) this job can be. It’s really easy to study the menu and ask questions to the kitchen and bar managers if you really want to learn and be good at your job. Pretty only gets you so far. The food is pretty good for pub fare and they always have a good beer selection, so I’m hoping they can work out the kinks with the service. I hope 2016 brings some positive changes to this place because it can be really great.

Went to try it out recently and to be honest, the food was absolutely nothing to talk about. The service was fine, but the food was blend and tasteless. We tried the chicken and brie club house, which was basically a stack of ingredient without any seasoning whatsoever. It was tasteless. The yam fries came glued altogether probably due to the fact that they soaked too much oil during cooking and glued together as they cooled down. A little bit more draining to remove the oil would definitely be advised here. We also tried the fish tacos, same result as the club; tasteless, no seasoning. Unfortunately, Brew Street Café is definitely not a place we’ll go back. Rather stick with the Cactus Club or even Browns for that price.

Hate rating it a 2 today. Service was 5. See below. New lower pricing and it appears that it shows in the food. I had the usual brew street breakfast now priced at $ 5. See my pic. Sausage were deep fried and really salty. sourdough/cranberry toast was rock hard, put a fork in and it cracked the whole slice. Eggs over easy looked like 1.5 eggs vs 2. Partner had the $ 8 frittata. It was tiny in the skillet and flat. Brought it to our servers attention. She was polite, professional and super nice about changing the order. Not a single hint of attitude! 5 stars to Shelby! No free kids breakfast anymore. Coming back? It’s really tough to decide… There are $ 4 breakfasts in town that can really compete!

This is a nice spruce up of the old Golden Spike Pub. The layout is basically the same, but with nicer interiors(and kid friendly) — leading to a rather busy first couple of months. Now that they hype has settled down(and possibly due to some opening hiccups) I’ve found it to be much less busy on evenings and weekends than after it first opened. The food here is alright, and a nice change from the old pre-packaged pub food that the Spike offered, but I find it inconsistent. There are some entrees that are SO small they are in no way worth the price tag and other things that are just ridiculously big. Also, the service has been a bit hit and miss on our past visits, but I’m finding it improving a they find their stride. On a recent brunch visit I had the Monte Cristo waffles, which were tasty and interesting, but the waffles had clearly been pre-made and were not hot enough and too dry. Also, it seems like overkill to add hash browns(or ‘pan fries’) to a starch-based breakfast. On the whole, this is a great place to grab a few interesting beers(HUGE on-tap beer menu) and have a snack and I’m confident they will eventually sort the kinks out. It’s nice that they allow children as well, considering the neighbourhood is full of young families.

Service here is a bit hit or miss but some of the reviewers here really need to cool their jets. This is Port Moody, not Manhattan, and your expectations should be adjusted accordingly. For my money, this place is the best value and quality for drinks and pub food anywhere in the Vancouver area. Brew Street does a few things very right. Their burgers are great, yam fries are good, and their side salad is the best I’ve ever had. How many places inspire you to write about a side salad? Also, I’ve never seen a $ 5 breakfast anywhere in Canada, at least not one that was edible. Their other breakfast selections are also solid, especially the breakfast poutine. As for drinks, as others have said, they often run out of a few beers. Fortunately, they have a wide selection and good prices so you’d have to be incredibly picky to not find something to drink. Especially nice is that they always have a few taps featuring the local Port Moody brews. So to go back to my «this is Port Moody» point, seriously where else would you rather go for drinks and pub food? You can check out the bland, soulless, pathetic wannabe socialite experience at Brown’s. Then there’s the Burrard Public House, aka Brown’s Lite. Or, if you fancy hanging with a bunch of belligerent, middle-aged trash, you can check out St. James’ Well. Brew Street is the only one of those that will consistently get my money.

These are the same owners as Burke Beer House. I think they have the right idea but there is always at least one thing amiss whenever we go. This last time we got chicken and fish tacos off the happy hour menu. The chicken was just gross. My husband took a bite of his and agreed. We just ate the tortilla with the salsa and sauce in it. The fish ones were great though! The waitress was amazing. She took them back and said the chef told her it was just too much sauce on them and that’s why the consistency was weird. Sorry but no. It was like a prepackaged frozen chicken breast with grill marks on it… with a gummy consistency. They seem to be out of a lot of beers every time we go too. So for a place close to home it’s a definite«it’ll do kind of place.» But for drinks out its a good choice and they do the free shuttle home in the area and you can’t beat that!

I love supporting local, and I’m happy that there’s a pub with a cool vibe just steps from home. This place can be great, it just depends when you go. Food: 3⁄5. Solid Gastropub faire. The pizzas are unique and very well done. We had wings that were a tad anemic though, and slightly undercoooked. A little too red and translucent in the middle. We only had appies but the dinner menu looked amazing. Gnocchi with braised beef ragu? Yum. We will have to try again and hopefully we will bump the star factor up half a notch. Beer: 5⁄5. A great selection of local and national craft beers, plus some other gems. A broad range of styles. Well done! Other Drinks: 4 Stars. Lots of inventive drinks here, pretty tasty cocktails. There are many cheap specials, and they’re definitely aimed at the young crowd looking to get drunk quickly. Long Islands and shooters and whatnot. Kinda not what you expect when you hear«Craft Kitchen». Service: 3⁄5. Overall very good but with a couple issues. Everyone is very friendly and attentive even when the hours go late and the place turns into a crowded noisy bar. However, our bill was wrong in 2 places, and when corrected they only fixed one and said«forget about the other one». whhhaaaaaAAAA? Are you hoping that I’m drunk so I won’t care? Not cool Atmosphere: 3⁄5. The styling and overall feel of the space is updated… lots of modern wood detailing. Good music. HOWEVER. Weekend evenings are more like a club night than anything. Lots of suburbanite kids coming out to the closest place drink. The late night happy hours with cheap double drinks, drop shots etc help bring the wife-beater-wearing douches to the party. If the new owners of this location want to shake off the stigma of the previous establishment, they might want to consider removing some of the scrubby bits of their offerings. We showed up on a long weekend Thursday at 9pm, and there was a ½ hour wait. Luckily we found a place at the bar and enjoyed ourselves right away.

Came here for some beer and munchies. Parking is available in the lot next to the building, as well as on St. Johns. The inside is pretty classy for a neighbourhood pub, with the high ceilings. It wasn’t too busy when we were there. There is also a pool room in the back, as well as a patio beside the building. Staff were friendly and helpful. The beer selection is somewhat decent, and featured local brews such as Yellow Dog, located just blocks away. So why 2 stars? The nachos really did look great, until we started eating. Turns out the toppings are literally just toppings. The bottom 2⁄3 of the plate were literally just plain oily chips. Even the cheese didn’t make it down there. Thank goodness for the sour cream and nachos. I should’ve taken a photo. To be fair, the first 1⁄3 of the dish was pretty awesome. I’m really hoping that the cook just dropped the ball this time.
