Where did Brown’s suddenly pop up from? Out of nowhere, we have this chain of restaurants in Metro Vancouver(No, I’m not calling it a Social House). I was given a gift card, so I took my family there to try it out, thinking we’d be getting another Milestones-type place. Food: The worst part of the experience was the food. My wife got sick from the burger she ate, and said it tasted like it was a cheap frozen patty not particularly cooked well. My hashbrown-type dish had some of the lowest-quality, fattiest meat I’ve had: Fine for a greasy spoon, but not for these prices. My other family members were not excited about their food, either. Service: The restaurant was fairly quiet for lunch, yet the service wasn’t great. The girls are dressed up in typical all-black outfits like you see at Earl’s, and seem to be hired for looks over everything else. Value: For these prices, I’d expect more than low-quality meat and burgers. It’s like they took Denny’s food and charged twice as much. Ambiance: Fairly typical. Overall: With so many other similar options, I can’t see myself going to Brown’s again. Milestones has never let me down, and the quality of the food at Brown’s was so poor that it isn’t worth trying again. How this chain got so popular is a mystery to me.

Fun atmosphere, great service, and pretty standard ‘bar’ type food on the menu. I had the tempura tiger shrimp with yam fires — a choice I was very happy with. For lunch on a Sunday all the waitresses where in pajamas in theme of some kind of charitable donation collection. Not being from the area I was obviously out of the loop but it was still fun to see while I was there as it made the whole place seem to be more like home than walking into some random place to eat while being far away.

We came in as a group a little over a week ago on a busy Friday night and we had a surprise +2. Not only did the staff graciously reseat us to a larger booth, but they handled our complicated split bill, split order with ease and charm. We had multiple waves of food, a phone in order, I’m sure we weren’t the easiest table to serve! There might have been one small error in the billing but it was so minimal and handled so efficiently we hardly noticed. Thank you again for such a great experience!

I went here for lunch today and received terrible service. Our server was not very friendly and it took her almost 10 minutes to get us two glasses of water in a restaurant with only 1 other table! Our appetizers came out faster than our food. Getting the bill was a real struggle as well, she neglected us and we were only checked up on once. She also just threw down our plates, didn’t even really stop at the table and she didn’t ask if we needed anything else. She didn’t offer to pack up our food either. It took us 10 minutes just to flag her down for our bill! By then we were in a rush and didn’t bother asking for a box for our food, we didn’t have time to wait for her to get a box, even though we would have just packaged it up ourselves. I’m a server myself so I have high expectations when I go into a restaurant but I usually always leave between 15 and 25%. Except in this case, I left nothing. Usually the service here is great, but today was a real let down. It’s not even like it was busy, there were two tables and maybe 5 tables sitting outside, and there were at least 4 other servers working.

Every time I come to this particular Browns my experience leaves me wondering why i ever came back. The service is always lackluster and I end up waiting way longer than normal for my food, or drink or cutlery, or bill. The food is actually pretty good, but I have on numerous occasions sent it back because it came out cold or slightly wrong. I will say however, that every time something like this happens the management are very good at comping the meal or giving me a gift card for your next visit and apologizing for it.

I have had better. This place will do in a pinch or will do if you need a place to go that serves crappy beer.

Came here to meet a couple friends for dinner and drinks one night. Love that their drinks are pretty cheap, but hate that their food is overpriced. Bellini’s are $ 5 and my vegetarian rice entrée was $ 16. Sat outside on the patio which had pretty cozy seats. Nice place to sit and hang out in the evening with friends. Our waitress was pretty attentive and never rushed us — we were there for about 2.5 hours. Would probably only go again if friends wanted to because food is overpriced and that’s pretty important to me.

Brown’s Social House Port Moody is a chain restaurants similar to Earls and Joey. Brown’s Social House menu offers upscale pub food like burgers, pizza. It has some healthier options like rice bowls, sushi and salads. The Port Moody location has a pretty nice garden patio space. It is perfect for the late brunch on a Sunday. Brunch menu is available Saturday, Sunday and Holiday from 10am to 2pm. Corned Beef hash 12.25: two poached eggs, corned beef, red peppers + onions, salsa, hollandaise, breakfast potatoes. Relish and tomato sauce adds great acidity and cuts the rich creamy soft poached egg. Ultimate Chicken Club Burger 15.75: onion ring, bacon, havarti, bbq sauce is juicy and moist. The batter is light and bacon is crispy. Substitute coleslaw for fries if you are looking to add some creamy and crunchy texture. Brown’s Social House is great place to watch the hockey game!
