Sad to see how phở hoa’s serving size has gotten smaller but their price has racked up so high. would you pay $ 11 for this? The original picture was more filled. this? Barely

We ordered the basic beef phở to test out the quality. The soup of the Phở tastes alright, so does the noodle, but the beef is really not impressive — the meat is tough and has a taste of low quality beef. The summer roll was also rather plain.

I typically steer clear of phở when deciding on a restaurant as it is the same everywhere. However, this restaurant threw me for a loop. I came late one night with my family, and were seated along the windows. Might I also add that the seating is horrifically cramped, despite what would appear to be a decent-sized restaurant. The overall tone I received from the interior was that it was poorly kept, and filthy. Our table was barely enough for four bowls therefore, making the dining experience fairly uncomfortable. The portions are skimpy, and are not worth the money. The bill was fairly hefty, and we left less than pleased.

This place is always a «go to» place specially when it’s late since they’re open till 2am. We love the food here, whether it’s the soup or the grilled food, they all taste great! Phở Hoa captures the authentic taste of Vietnamese food. The venue itself is clean. The paring is the only downside since its small and usually gets filled specially during meal hours.

Omg, why are they still in business? The phở taste like it came from a packet or something. The noodles are not the right consistency. The service is hell. That’s all I have to say.

Not quite sure where is should start. My sister was looking for a healthier place to eat so we decided to stop by Phở Hao. Very disappointing. The staff was really bad. Our waiter took our order brought us our food then left. We watched him outside the restaurant talk to another waitress for a while then get in his car and drive away. Then no one bothered to take his place. We had to flag down another waitress who was no better. We watched as she continuously ignored another group of customers that were trying to place their order. The food was even worse than the customer service. I had the steak phở. It was dull. The broth was flavorless and the steak tasted like it had been freezer burned. My mom and my sister got the worst of it. They both order two types of the seafood phở. HORRIBLE!!! The crab was terrible imitation stuff and the other seafood that didn’t even look recognizable was bad. I do not suggest coming here. The staff doesn’t care to help their customer and the food is terrible. Find another place to eat.

This is the fast food equivilent of a Phở restaurant; a great place for someone who doesn’t know what Phở is really supposed to taste like. The service is terrible; however, I do will come back, not for the fact that I want to but for the fact that there is no other Phở place open as late as Phở Hao to satisfy late night cravings.

it’s good for people who have no idea what phở should taste like. fine if your hungry. alright if you don’t care about service. but i honestly have way better phở at home. spring rolls — fresh or fried — are pretty good though

We eat here whenever we are in the Richmond area and crave Phở! It’s cheap and tasty. The only reason I don’t give 4 stars is because service is kinda poor but at least the bathrooms are clean.

For being located in Richmond, one might think Phở Hoa might try to match the quality of the many other Vietnamese restaurants nearby, eg Thai Son. Sadly they did not and I regret stopping in here, since there is much better close by. This place might be rated higher if it were the only place in small town Canada, but it is not. We ordered Lemon Grass chicken with vermicelli, and pork and prawns with vermicelli. Not much flavour in the chicken, even the fish sauce was bland — had to pour on tons of hot sauce to compensate. Meat also seemed like it was sitting for a while, versus freshly cooked as one might expect.

Monday lunch with the office crew, we get a hankerin’ for phở every once in awhile. This place is close by with solid phở. The service is more efficient than friendly which is just fine when you are looking to get lunch in quick. Hot tea comes in plastic glasses, The noodles are good, with fresh ingredients, the broth and meat balls are a little bland but there’s Hoisin and hot sauce to add some zip. You usually get a big plate of bean sprouts, lemon wedges, sweet basil to add to your phở. At $ 6.95 the regular size is enough to fill me up at lunch time. The Ch Giò is quite good, nice and crisp with a zesty sauce on the side. Oh, and the menu is good for a chuckle if you’re one of those types who likes pointing out spelling and grammatical errors.

First the décor, there’s a full wall mural of the sea and the setting is like the deck on a boat. Kinda different. Go during the week days and there will be combo menu like #1 small phở with 2 spring rolls and a coke for $ 9.95. Broth is clear and sweet. Spring rolls were ok. I would say this place is just as good as Thai Son, my favorite phở.

Let’s get one thing straight here: I’m a noodle fanatic. I’ve tried quite a few different phở chains in the Lower Mainland, and I believe that the phở they serve as this particular Phở Hoa branch has got to be the closest thing to fresh. Good broth, not too oily. A regular size for $ 6.95 is enough for fill me for a meal. Beef steak strips, tripe and etc are well cooked to order. My favourite is #17. But for those whose stomach flips at the mention of consuming internal parts, there are plenty of other choices that do not involve organs of any sort, just meat. They have yet to serve me a bowl of phở that I am not pleased about. I go to this particular place if I ever have the yearning for phở. It’s open really late night(or maybe even 24 hours?), so it’s a good place to go to with a bunch of friends for a relatively healthy, cheap, late night meal.

I like to poke my own eyes just for fun. I like to dip them in vinegar and poke my eyes. I like to dip them in honey and poke my eyes. I like to just jab my eyes until I start to cry. I go to Phở Hoa because I don’t have a damn choice. The boys want to go — usually because it’s one of the few places open late after our weekly hockey games. So after panning the Oak St location, I’m going to do much the same for this one. I ordered the No. 22 — porkchop on rice with an egg. Tasted fine, although the chop was small and the egg was overhard — in otherwords overCOOKED! I also ordered a side of lemongrass chicken with a small side bowl of rice. Obviously my vietnamese is a little off because I got a HUGE bowl of rice. Who are these people? Do they not care what comes out of my mouth? There is much, much better out there. If you can help it, DON’T go to this place! Go to Thai Son, go anywhere else.
