first time I visited this blenz I ordered a mochachillo. After starting preparing the drink, the barista told me he didn’t have enough ice to blend it. He said I can make it an iced instead — so I said ok — but then was not refunded the difference in price. The next time I visit I order a mochachillo again. This barista is not friendly by any means and she makes the drink. When she gives it to me she tells me that they are out of straws. ?? I notice that the drink isn’t even full all the way to the top and then ask for the whipped cream to be added — she gets a canister from somewhere, twists a nozzle on it(doesn’t shake it) and dispenses liquid«whip» cream on the top. At this point I realize that I have a starbucks straw in my purse and say I will use that since they are out. As I walk away from the store I realize that the cream is all sour smelling and tasting! After debating whether to go back, I eventually do and get another one remade sans whipped cream and I rinsed my starbucks straw in the bathroom sink. I wonder if this place is a front. They certainly do not run the business well.

The barista on duty does not know how to make a good Matcha latte. I had to return my order, he tried again, and it still doesn’t taste right. I order this drink all the time. And the place is a mess.

Asked for an iced dark hot chocolate … Realized I wanted a blended one. Was willing to pay for a new drink to get a blended one but the barista said that’s not an option… Really didn’t want the drink anymore and gave it to a homeless guy outside. She didn’t even seem to understand how utterly disappointed I was.

This is the WORST Blenz Coffee I have ever been too! If I were you, I would find another location to get your coffee. The staff is not concerned with you at all, and the ownership especially, are the epitome of sheisty individuals. They will do anything to rip people off. A serious cause for concern, make sure you check your bank statements after using there credit/debit terminals. They have been well known to rip people off! There just plain criminals if you ask me!

Very small, cozy and quiet during the Telus Garden construction. It a nice place to do people watching on the really comfy couches. Blenz isn’t my favourite place for coffee since I like the local small biz kind of Commercial Drive, but it’s nice to get of of the rain and the busy downtown core.

One of my Favorite Coffee spots. Ok the other one that has taken over the world sounds like BAR $‘s. Coming from America they on every street corner. The lost their edge. I fell in love with Blenz cause of their hot chocolate they use real Belgium Chocolate. or some other country but you can totally taste the difference. Totally worth it I will always stop at a Blenz if I’m in Canada.

It’s a cozy place with a friendly manager and employees. I work nearby and often make my rounds to this place. it’s been nice to be greeted by the manager who acknowledges and remembers you and your name, as well as takes time to have a friendly chat when he’s not busy. I’ve come in for a coffee to go and have stayed with colleagues for an hour. The experience has been consistent and I will continue to go back.

The foreign barista likes to take smoke breaks literally after every customer with her girlfriend. Then she scoffs if another customer comes in. She’s the same girl who makes a crappy matcha latte! She doesn’t dissolve the matcha properly in water first, before she adds it to the warmed milk, hence it tastes gritty. This place is barely busy, the most I’ve think I’ve ever seen in here in 7 people. The bathroom is so ghetto(you’ll know what this means if you go… it doesn’t even have a proper door haha). A man walked in on me, even when I *thought* the *door* was locked… but I was just getting something from my bag. Don’t trust their wifi because it never works…(well the one time I tried it). They don’t have newspapers available to read either. The manager, who I believe is the Asian woman is super friendly and super smiley! I went to the bathroom, and my drink had gotten a bit cold and I tasted it, and before I even said a word, she told me that she could froth the milk again. *heart* The ambiance is horrible… doesn’t feel cozy. The good thing? You could probably break up with someone here because the environment is so stale, and there are barely any people around to hear your harsh words. Not saying that I have done this of course. ;)

I’m not sure why the past few patrons gave this place a poor rating. I found the service at this Blenz to be fine. The manager was over the top friendly and knowledgeable of his coffee drinks. Unlike some other coffee establishments, the coffee drinks are made consistently well which is important to a hard-core coffee drinker such as myself. Seating is spacious and this place provides free Wifi.

I would give this Blenz zero star if I could!!! The manager at this location is absolutely rude! My friend and I sat down with coffee brought from this store. Half an hour later, the manager came to our table to ask us if we want to order more drinks or food. We said no, and he quickly grabbed our cups off the table and slammed them on the counter(we are only half finished with the coffee, and he didn’t even ask us whether we are done with them). There were empty tables in the store at the time, and we did buy the coffee from this store. We were sitting there quietly chatting for half an hour. What justify the rude service and attitude? I agree with all the Unilocalpers who have reviewed this location, I would never ever come back to this Blenz again, and I DON’T RECOMMEND anybody to go either. I have been to other Blenz locations in downtown and did receive great customer services. This location is the only black sheep I have encountered so far! Everybody who went to this Blenz had bad things to say about the services they received from the manager. That speaks volume, wouldn’t you agree!

I considered myself pro-Blenz(as opposed to Starbucks). Definitely did not like this place, though. I guess this is the problem to expect with Franchises, but the guy had never heard of the smoothie that I ordered(that I had seen in one Blenz, and had no problem getting at another Blenz). He rummaged through some papers trying to find the recipe, but I think he just faked it. What he gave me was too icy(watery, cold), as opposed to the creamy and not too icy cold that a Smoothie should be(and was at the other locations). I try to be on the softer side, and wouldn’t rate them this low for just one drink. But the washroom experience topped it off. It’s not really dirty or anything, but it’s a washroom/storage room and the lock and door are so fussy I wasn’t sure if I was going to get back out.

This review isn’t for the coffee, or the service, or the even the bathrooms. This review is for the outside seating. There’s nothing better than sitting in front of this Blenz, man-bonding with your buddies and people watching.

Horrible and completely rude experience at this location due to a really arrogant manager. A friend and I walked into this establishment and I ordered a regular café latte while my friend brought in his own drink that he bought at a supermarket. We sat down on their comfy chairs, and not even 2 minutes into our stay(we were reading comics :)), an employee comes over and asks my friend if he’s planning on buying a drink, since otherwise it’s «awkward» to bring in a drink from another place. He didn’t willingly do this either because we later recalled that the manager made him go tell us off while the employee was trying to calm the guy down. After this encounter with the employee(who never suggested we should leave), the manager came up to us personally, and said that we were going to have to leave if my friend didn’t order a drink. My friend asked why that was a problem and he said that it was«just about the math» i.e. he had to pay rent and that if we were going to «use his nice furniture» then each person using it should be paying for something. I should mention that the store was only half to maybe three-quarters full. Now here’s the real kicker… he said that if my friend didn’t have a drink from another place then there wouldn’t be a problem. Wait what? What happened to the«math»? He left us there in complete surprise while he went back to behind the cash. We got up and asked him what was going on. I mentioned the fact that as a group of 2, we ordered something, but he insisted that bringing in an external drink was«icing on the cake» for him to kick us out, and that if we bought a burger at Burger King and brought it to McDonald’s then that would be inappropriate, too(what if some friends were eating McDonald’s as well, though?). He also said that he «understood our concern» and yadda yadda. On the positive side, the coffee wasn’t terrible, but needless to say, I’m not coming back here again. This would never happen at Starbucks! :P
