My experience started out good. The menu looked awesome, and the kitchen was open and the cooks were making food right in front of everybody — always something I appreciate in restaurants. After having high hopes, a number of things started happening that made me give this place a 1-star: First(and this isn’t that significant in my book), my friend who ordered a tofu dish received a dish with prawns & meat. This was a misunderstanding(the guy taking orders didn’t speak the best English), hence this not being a big deal. What was a big deal was my order of spring rolls. Our main meals came before the spring rolls did, and they hadn’t arrived yet by the time we were done eating. I went to the counter to ask for a refund for the spring rolls, and the people working the restaurant quickly said«oh no no we did it for you!» and got out some spring rolls for me. We were there around closing time, and nobody was in the kitchen for the previous 10 minutes(they were out for a smoke break) so this was weird. I said that I’d rather not eat them at this point since we were done with our meal, which he ignored and gave me the spring rolls anyway. I gave up trying to convince him otherwise, and thankfully had a bite of the rolls before packing them and taking them away. It turned out that they had accidentally left them in the fryer for the entire time that we were eating. They were soaked with oil, burnt, and tasted nasty. I quickly put the plate back and explained that this was unacceptable, and asked for a refund for this dish. The staff refused, and said too bad. I insisted on getting my money back, explaining that it’s unacceptable to serve spring rolls that had been in a deep fryer for literally 25 minutes, and received part of my money back. After complaining yet again, the cook who got the spring rolls out for me said something in a different language to the guy working the counter, and he gave me the full cost of the spring rolls back(minus the tax or tip on this, of course). The service was pretty atrocious, and the food wasn’t that good either. I got the singaporean curry, and it tasted almost identically to a processed«mix with water» curry powder that my ex-gf liked to eat that was super low quality and came in a box(it had lots of salt, oils, and fats in it). I wouldn’t come back here for the quality of food alone(it would have gotten a 3⁄5), but after the terrible service that I received — I have to give this place the lowest score possible.

This little shop will give you your noodle fix. It’s a generous portion of noodles, it’s affordable and it’s really quite tasty. Most would take the noodles to-go, but you are welcome to the limited seating available. The staff are nice and patient — I know they don’t have a large menu but I still like to ponder sometimes. What is this thing that Chinese cooking does to chicken. Baking soda? It makes it all tender and weird, albeit a good weird. You’ll get really sort of ‘bouncy’ chicken with your noodles. That’s got to be interesting. I’ve had the Shanghai Style Fried Noodles, Singapore Style Fried Noodles and Szechuan Chili Noodles. All were fairly good. The thing that people like best about it is the portion size. It’s so worth the $ 8.95! It’s guaranteed to fill up a growing boy, or hungry man! It’s also good for lazy family dinners. There are nights when we cannot be bothered to cook so we order a few varieties of noodles for take-out, and there you have it: dinner. The kids will love it. So, if you ever need a quick lunch or dinner for yourself or family, this is your spot!

Cheap and fast. I ordered pad Thai it didn’t come with peanuts and lemon like we get in Australia but was tasty and just the right amount of chilli. You can also get free wifi while here from Starbucks so an added bonus if your travelling

Price is good, I always go for the Kung Pao which is pretty tasty. I would go there more if the cleanliness standards were improved. More times than not I see the guy at the till handle money then go put his hands directly into the vegetables(no tongs or gloves) to make my food! Also, I’d be totally willing to spend a bit more if they stopped using styrofoam containers.

Great place, its a small restaurant, but the food is always cooked fresh infront of you. The portions are fair and the people who work there are always nice

Savoury but unauthentic. Thai, Singapore and Malay dishes lack flavour and authenticity. Stick with the Chinese dishes. Chefs are Chinese. I stay away from here every time

its challenging to be many foods to all people, this place tries — its a mom and pop type shoppe that does a brisk business, so you know they are moving product. had the wuntun noodle, hot sour soup, green onion pancake and potstickers. wuntun was ok 5/10, my buddy said the hot sours wa ok 6⁄10 pancakes were decent7/10 and the pot stickers were decent 7⁄10. if you go in here thinking, «mall chinese» you are pretty close to the mark.

Bland«Asian» food served by unenthusiastic staff. The food tastes like it has been boiled in water with salt added to it. The chef seemed really unhappy. The ingredients are okay, but nothing Asian about it, just regular north american veggies like zucchini, broccoli, carrots. There was no bok choy or Asian veggies like they showed in the picture. The shrimp has zero taste and the texture was rubbery. I buy frozen shrimps myself and they taste way better than this. Just no.

I was originally going to give it 3 stars, but then I got light diarrhea. It’s a greasy noodle joint. It’s not terrible. My noodles were quite tasty, and the slices of chicken meat were tender. I don’t think I’ll be back though. Super Chef Grill a block away is cleaner and tastes better, imho.

Just had the best quick dinner here. no fuss, no muss… vegetarian green curry with tofu and peanuts. It was hands down, the best meal I’ve had in a few weeks. Definately will go back. Lot’s of selection, and they were pretty quick. Friendly service.

My once a week lunch standby. I always order the Singapore Noodles here cuz they make it the way I like it. Other places around here make it weird. Coco’s is Asian fast food. You don’t come for the ambiance or wait staff service. You come to eat and go. A great place to people watch since the library is right across the street.

Woof. The noodles here were pretty rough. I got Shanghai Noodles with Tofu and it was on the south side of OK. Very little taste. My friend got the green curry with chicken and couldn’t eat more than a few bites. Chicken was all gristle. A co-worker also popped in while we were there, to get something to go and couldn’t finish his either. Atmosphere wise, it’s a typical greasy spoon style joint. Many places within walking distance that are MUCH better. Take the extra few steps.

I know most people would say five star is too high for this kind of place but. I find their food great and they are always so kind and helpful! These Asian run places a lot of times just taste very similar especially when it comes to noodles, but hey they are Chinese so dishes like pad Thai will taste similar to their Shanghai fried noodles. Seein g that the ingredients are so similar and the oil they use too and probably the unfamiliarity with pad Thai. Most of the fried noodles are indeed more oily but their dumplings and snacks are great and fresh! I always get their hot and sour soup. Their soup items are always comforting and yummy. The man at the cashier is very friendly and kind. Partly why I would want to come back. I noticed their kitchen is very clean for an Asian run restaurant in such a small location. I think they would do a good job with fried rice seeing the way the chef throws the wok. I’ll have to see next time I’m here.

This place is the best value I have found in Vancouver. For $ 10 after tax you will be full. I love the mix chicken and shrimp Pad Thai. I usually eat half the portion for dinner then the other half the next day for lunch. It’s not normal to eat as much as they serve so most people will get a «togo» box. I usually just get it to go since I live a block away. The menu is huge with curry dishes, noodle dishes, soups, etc. The ironic thing is i live above Noodle Box and I always go to coco noodle. It’s a better value and taste great!

Got the Schezhuan Noodles to go. Noodles were kind of oily. Less than $ 10, and the portion filled up the entire styrofoam container. This will last me at least two meals. Cheap eat, big portion. Because they fry your noodles in a big wok when you order, the wait for food will be able 10 minutes. My coworker calls ahead to make her order — not sure if they usually take orders over the phone or if she’s special because she goes there a lot and is a familiar face.

One of the many more recent decent places to eat for under $ 10 near Library Square. Probably best bang for your buck if you want a damn BIG Asian lunch! Personal fave is their Sesame Chicken. Can barely finish it — and I can eat! I love curry, and they have a lot of choices in that category, but so far I haven’t found any that aren’t too overpoweringly spicy. I love spice, but I find these too hot. If you like HOT curry, this may be a goldmine for you! Would have given 5 stars if it hadn’t been for the firey curry. Maybe that’s a good thing for some. Love the place though — mmmmmm Sesame Chicken!

Pictures of all sorts of Asian noodles dawn the outside window of this place, which was what caught our attention in the first place. Beef noodles in soup, Shanghai fried noodles, Singapore noodles… this place was Asian food galore! This is a small café, with several tables to dine in. There’s a large menu, with lots and lots of noodles and rice selections. You order up front, and then take a seat, and pick up your order when done. Bottled drinks are available. I got a Singapore Cashew Nut Curry with prawns. You have your choice of chicken or beef, prawns, or veggies. It reminded me of Noodle Box. They also have other Malay curry, on rice or noodles. Appies include pan fried dumplings, roti, and spring rolls. I waited about 10 minutes for my food, which came on a large plate. It smelled great. There was a large serving of rice, and the other half of the plate was all curry! Large prawns, with julienne carrots, mushrooms, and celery was all within the curry. Sprinkled with cashews, this was an awesome choice. Flavour was great, not too spicy, which is exactly how I like my curry. Lots of prawns too, and I like the addition of the carrots because it added some crunch to the dish. Even though I was hungry, I could not finish this dish and had to take the rest home. Quick and delicious, this is a great place to stop by and get your noodle fix when you’re near the area!

Authentic Asian noodle place with massive portions at a great price. My favourite is the Singapore curry noodles and my girlfriend loves the Shanghai noodles.(She’s ½ Shagginess and says their noodles are totally authentic)
