There is NEVER a dull moment here at the Main and Terminal location McDonald’s. Open 24 hours, rain or shine, night or day. Early New Year’s Day, 6 am. Two people sleeping with heads down on a table. 5 guys living on the street just staying warm and having a coffee and chatting across from them. Young adults scattered around having a post NYE party hangover meal. Some chatty, some just trying to keep the food down. Lots of bathroom usage. A guy who looked like a gangster from the east side Crypts with pencil beard and donned in all black. He’s one of the managers! They call in the police and ambulance. The two sleeping in a table looked like they were drugged and were taken away with the ambulance crew. The story continues. After all, this location has a lot to tell. Ambiance? Interesting Service? 4 stars Food? 4 stars(for McDonald’s to McDonald’s comparison) The breakfast here is better than two of the Richmond locations.

How do u run away from mcdonald. Its so bad but it taste so good. This one and the one on boundary is probably the two busiest mcdonald in vancouver. With mcdonald you can expect the service and the food to be always the same. This location has alot of late night drunkies munching out, i wouldnt say this feels like the safest location. But the drive thru is great and again. U just cant escape it. Their fries with tartar sauce and ketchup. Chicken burger with hot mustard sauce. At least once a week. Impossible to escape.

Well not all McDonald’s the same. This on is quite busy. My sister had a bad experience here and we did notified the manager at the store. They were willing to resolve the issue we had. But we have noticed one thing is that this McDonald is pretty dirty during peak hours. Maybe they need more staff to clean the table. If you come around 3 ish, you might find almost all tables are dirty. But it is what it is. A McDonald. So don’t expect too much

I don’t know why I always end up reviewing McDonald’s locations, but this location stands out because of its size. It is by far the largest fast food restaurant I’ve ever been to. We’re talking grocery store square footage. As a result of its huge dining area, the free Wi-Fi still doesn’t reach the back of the restaurant, as another Unilocaler mentioned a few years ago. This seems like an easy thing to fix, so I’m surprised it’s still an issue. The service is fast and friendly. All tills were being used during lunch time on a Thursday. I only came here for a Shamrock Shake and a place to sit while getting my car repaired down the street so I can’t comment on the food, but the interior is recently renovated so it was a good experience overall. Note that there are some weirdos and homeless people inside. There’s no problem with a homeless person eating inside McDonald’s, but it’s a problem when they go around asking for money while people are trying to enjoy a meal. I was surprised to see a PlayPlace here because they have been phased out of most renovated locations. Parents will like this. The large parking lot is also nice for those who drive. They just need to fix the Wi-Fi!

McDonald’s is still a quick place to get my favorite Filet O’ Fish for a low price. What made this McDonald’s get a 4 star? Today, it was the service. I waddle in famished and light headed from lack of sleep. I had my purse in one hand and the other holding my baby in her car seat. The girl took my order efficiently and asked another staff to help me bring my tray of food to my table. I didn’t ask for help, but I certainly needed it. Before getting to the table, he asked if I wanted ketchup and he went back to get some. When I was ready to leave, another staff member asked me if I needed help getting to my car. Great service all around and I’m impressed since these are just students working at this location where they likely deal with shady characters a lot.

My best friend and I come here maybe every other week when walking back from the store to either shop talk or share fries. There is a lot of seating and they don’t care how long or late we sit around and look up stuff on my lap top and«hang out.» Since they’re open 24 hours we hit this up before heading cross border on the G-hound. Being very traffic heavy in location, they seem to be more efficient at this location than at others. Their menu has dramatically changed over the years to more healthier, custom and neat stuff including coffees that are cheaper and sometimes tastier than Starbucks. Even for someone like myself watching the points I always find culinary compromises that work for me.

I have two major problems with this particular McDonalds. One, their self serve pop dispenser is a joke given the demographic for the area. Homeless people and dirty construction workers constantly use dirty containers to steal pop. It’s a huge health risk when their filthy containers are contaminating the dispenser. Second, their coffee is terrible. It’s always watery and burnt. Every other McDonalds I visit has awesome coffee on par or better than Starbucks.

Would be another star if it weren’t for the questionable characters hanging around in the parking lot or inside. But still come here just for convenience, esp. if i forget to go to one in DT or avoid the parking costs lol. But it’s a lot nicer w/the newer McCafe theme, more lounge-y, perhaps one of the nicer ones, if not certainly a big one too, as i believe it was designed for the ’86 Expo. yes, a long time ago. Lots of parking, and what a view in the summer, a great pit stop for the washroom or food break after rollerblading/running from the Seawall.

I totally disagree and dislike the way customers are told move to the left after they order when there is a mass of other people waiting and only a quarter of the whole counter is used. For pete’s sake, open the other tils or alternating tils so that there is more room for people to move over or spread out and not get confused with which line up they belong to.

I have a soft spot for this McDonald’s out of any other location that always brings me back to my past, when there was two gas stations at the corner of Main and Terminal, and there was an automotive dealership(I think it was Jeep) right beside this McDonald’s is the time frame I am talking about. I use to hang out here, to the point I got to even know the staff! There were a few of my highschool classmates working here, and some girls that I liked to hang out with that worked here, and it was a central point to meet up, as there is the Main Street Skytrain station across the street. I see that now there is no access to the upstairs sitting area, that the place, like all McD’s, are open 24 hours, before it was just the drive-thru, and they have an automated talking garbage can. TV’s are now abundant in all the McD’s, trying to make them hangouts when even this wouldn’t be needed, as I said, I use to ‘Hang-Out’ here. It’s one of the most spacious McD’s outside from their main headquarters location in the Lower Mainland(Willingdon). There is always parking here, as the lot is fairly big. They run things pretty good here, sometimes opening up two take out windows when things really back up. Before this place use to be the guinea pig McD’s, when a new product needed to be released, they would test it on the masses right here. I’ve seen their fresh kiosks(think Subway) to other obscure products which have not seen light of day since. This place has a kids play area with video games to entertain them, cause a ball pool would be too dangerous for the young nowadays! Close to the Skytrain, away from downtown, a good meetup for you and your friends if all of you are driving and need a landmark/parking lot to meet up in, many know about this place, it maybe the only old structure left on the block as everything has changed, even the car lot is becoming a condo, but you will always have McDonald’s!

McDonald’s: The nightshift at McD’s is lame. Fries are overcooked and stale-ish. It is often unsafe and the staff is lazy. Tables are dirty and they choose to make everyone’s order to go, wasting paper bags instead of give trays. It was tough to pack everything. The ketchup bins were empty. On the plus side, the girl was exceptionally polite taking my order BUT distracted. Their front counter system is messed up, making customers stand in limbo waiting for their order. A simple thing like putting the order on the other side of the til would do wonders. When the order did come, the girl screams the order repeatedly until the customer bolts to the til to shut her up. Once is enough! If the customer misses out, too bad. No napkins, ketchup, salt, straw in the bag. Also no Wi-Fi in the back of the seating area. On the plus side, this place has renovated over the years and they have a great cleanup guy in the day. I’m not a fan of sweeping or vacuuming near my table while I eat and often the cleaners empty the garbage can right in front of eating customers. Unacceptable. I have found that being at this location at night is an adventure. Beggars have verbally assaulted me and loitering customers have also tried to provoke a fight. The general nature of the help yourself drink fountain brings in undesirables and can be an uncomfortable experience with people rushing to get the ketchup, salt, napkins, a drink, lids, or straws. I sincerely hope the restaurant ownership and McDonald’s Canada find solutions to these issues. I overheard once that this McD’s brings in the most in sales in Western Canada.

This location is one of the larger and older ones in town. It’s not just large. It’s huge. I’m sure they bought this land for a steal back in tha day, when it was all industrial here. The parking here is also not a problem, as their lot is also freaking huge. This location is 24h, and has a drive thru. So if you have the munchies, you can always come here, or to Burger King next door. They’ve recently remodeled this location to the McCafe theme. This is good as the old interior was seriously beaten up and ghetto. Nice new chairs, laminate tables, and a MUCH nicer interior atmosphere than before, with TVs everywhere and free Wi-Fi. Interestingly enough, they didn’t get rid of the kids’ playground. This makes the place less upscale, though I’m sure many parents appreciate it. Despite the renovations, it looks like the hobos are still around. There are some strange characters around here, including this one guy who walked around shoving everyone out of his way. I really did not need him touching me. He smelled funny too. Guess the staff can’t do too much, but it was a bit unnerving. Hence the 3 stars instead of 4. My food came nice and quickly, and I didn’t drop dead after eating my burger. Excellent. Overall, a good time.

Everything I come here, the fries are fresh, it’s clean, and quick. The service here is pretty good and they seem pretty professional compared to many other locations. They have screens all over the place and plenty of seating. This is my preferred location after a night of drinking downtown. Lol So one time, friend A drove friend B’s car to McD’s, cause he why too trashed. I was sitting in the backseat and as we arrived to the drive-thru window, I asked for an application form. Moments before, I was saying to my friends, in my drunken state, «Man, it’ll be awesome to work here and have all the nuggets you want!» Me: «Hey, can I get an application form? I wanna work for Ronald!» The Mcd’s employee chuckled to himself and reply, «You really want to work here?» Me: «Hell ya!» Lol The next day my friend sends a msg out, «Who applied for McDonald’s?»

No, I really do not like McDonalds. but sometimes you just need it. For example. after a night of drinking — you think food + greasy + oily + still good +(possibly late late night) = ? Yes, I think of McDonalds… nothing else is opened this late. and I have to confess. I actually walked in at around 1pm in the afternoon. They have these new mini sandwiches. seemed a little interesting, but i went for the Junior chicken because they never fail. This McDonalds also has a mcCafe. sounds nice right? Offering lattes, mochas, cappacinos and iced drinks, their marketing seemed to have sold me. I get to the counter and order an iced coffee… I was told I had to choose between vanilla and caramel flavour. «NO — i just want an iced coffee.» the board option said no where did I have to choose a flavour. That was under the latte option. An argument was starting to stir up and how it is part of the McCafe and you had to pick a flavour. so what if I am a black coffee drinker and don’t take sugar and just wanted a cup of iced black coffee? How would that work at all? I didn’t want to argue. I just got my junior chicken and ate it outside. seemed way bigger than a junior and it was as good as the last time I had it… and no I cannot remember the last time I had it. But I really want to solve this iced coffee mystery. I have a feeling I could win this battle.

OMG! They sell these things call«Big Macs» there. Have you tried them? They’re awesome! I’m going to eat them all the… Oh…My tummy hurts… Well, it was tasty. I regret nothing. They’ve recently finished renovations on this location.(For the Olympics?) It’s very bright and clean with tons of parking. Kinda tough to get to with all of the Olympic Village road closures, though.

This McDonald’s was inspired by the world’s first floating McDonald’s restaurant which sat floating next door on False Creek and it was known as McBarge. Another interesting note about this McDonald’s is this McDonald’s opened the same time during EXPO86. I actually remembered as a little boy eating here during Expo 86 at this McDonald’s and I can tell you that the interior looks pretty much the same as the days of EXPO86. So, I’m sure when Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics arrives, they’ll be people shocked to see the disappearance of the quite classy NAUTICAL inspire McDonald’s floating on False Creek. These pics are a must see and it might bring back memories!!! Yes, the pics you’ll be seeing is actually McDonald’s!!! Very classy indeed with very nice hardwood floors and stazzy seats!

I am not a huge fast food guy. but every now and then it does call to me… and way home from work the other day I received a call… It had been a while since I was in a McDonald’s and so I noticed a few changes to the menu… I really wasn’t interested in an entire meal… just a snack. and what do you know? They now offer a «snack wrap».who knew? And so I ordered up 2BBQ chicken snack wraps… which are only $ 1.89BTW. the team behind the counter were very effecient and moved as if sharing one mind… tres Borge. and in a flash I had my wrap and was on my way… I ate them on the walk home… I have to say they were much tastier then I anticipated and they totally hit the spot. I was feed and happy and for under $ 5.bargain!
