You can’t go wrong here… everything is pretty much delicious between the sweet and savory pastries. It’s the perfect place for breakfast or locking up some food to go! Their bacon, sour cream and chive scone is perfect; unlike most scones that are dry, crumbly, and heavy… this savory some is flakey, moist, and easy to finish. Also the flavor is incredible, it makes for a satisfying breakfast with the salt coming from the bacon. The savory crossiant sandwiches are also super good — they have this brie and bacon crossiant sandwich that has caramelized onions. You can have them heat up your pastries, but this was good even when it was still cold. The onions had a sweetness to it that worked well with the creamy brie cheese and crispy bacon, while the crossiant itself was soft and buttery. You’ll also want to try their ham and cheese slab pie — pretty sure this would make a good breakfast or lunch item. Flakey pastry layers wrapped around Swiss cheese and ham, then baked into a melted perfection. Granted we also had this cold but it was still delicious. If you’re looking for something sweet for breakfast, the Nutella brioche and almond berry brioche really hit the spot. The brioche is flakey and buttery, but the pastries themselves are very beautiful. I’m also impressed that the berries they are topped with are super sweet! Don’t forget to check out their morning glory muffin, it’s a great cinnamon-y muffin with a fluffy texture that pairs perfectly with coffee. The real downside to this place is that you have to choose what to get, when everything looks so good. You can even bring back items for the road — even their pies will last for 3 – 4 days.

The crème brûlée bun was the best sweet pastry I have ever eaten, seriously. It looks innocent enough, and I skimmed right over it while perusing the wide array of different pastry Purebread had in the display window. Thankfully hubby had locked in on it. We got the bun and a plain crescent. The crescent was buttery but not crisp and flaky on the outside like a true Parisian version so I would skip it. The cream brulee bun, on the other hand, was AMAZING! The bruleed top was crisp and the bun was flaky, holding a creamy, rich custard with vanilla bean flecks. So good. We are going back this morning too! We took the bun as a hiking snack, carefully packed on top, and went back that afternoon once back in the village to see if they had some left but by 5, the selection was pretty much picked over. Get there early(but not too early because they don’t open until 8:30).

Ahhh! This place! The display and selection of baked goods is like a scene from a Disney fairytale in it’s abundance and splendor. Friendly service that was patient while we tried to decide what to eat. Fantastic espresso — Stumptown beans — and simple concept décor. My partner claims that the lemon chevre brownie was THEBESTBROWNIEOFHISLIFE. It was fudgey, just perfectly crumbly and moist, and the mildly sweet goat cheese filling was the perfect compliment to the rich outer layers. THANKGODFORTHISPLACE. Truly a gem amongst the sad tourist coffee shops that exist elsewhere in the village.

Was pretty impressed with my visit to Purebread this last weekend. I’d heard much about their famous pastries and the savory items my wife picked out exceeded the hype heard beforehand. I highly recommend this place if you want a good bite and coffee(Stumptown beans on site).

Purebread is a Vancouver chain, located in the Whistler Village near the Olympic Rings. This place is carb and sugar heaven, they have a huge variety of pastries and cakes — it was difficult to choose! If I had one more visit, I would return for the ooey gooey chocolate chip and brownie, and ask for it warmed up. * BROWNIES(Various) — 4.5STARS: They have numerous varieties. The raspberry cheesecake is their most popular flavor, but I opted for the brown-sugar(tasted kind of weird), flourless(very fudgy), and the standard brownie. — OOEYGOOEYCHOCOLATECHIP — 4.5STARS: Essentially, this is an extra extra chocolatey chocolate chip cookie in the shape of a brownie. This was incredible, very very sweet, but incredible. Recommend warming this up and pairing it with a tall glass of ice cold milk. — PANINI– 3.5STARS: These are HUGE, and I guess it’s a good bang for your buck because you could easily split it two ways for lunch. We ordered the pizza version and the cheese was overwhelming, I had to eat it open faced. — BLUEBERRYLEMONLOAF — 3.5STARS: I really liked this overall; however, I found it a bit too soggy especially on the bottom, and a little too sweet. Purebread is a great place for carb loading before a day on the slopes; highly recommend ordering a variety of different things to share with friends.

The variety of pastries, scones, cookies and other items in PureBread is pure heaven, my only wish? To be able to try one of each item. I tried the blueberry lemon basil scone and a blonde brownie infused with brownie in a bar, they were delicious.

Are you kidding me? How can you ever decide among all the amazing things here? I couldn’t, so I got the bacon egg and cheese roll, and the Nutella brioche. And both were incredible. I will be coming back. I will be trying more things. Yum.

Pure heaven for any gluten enthusiast. The display is beautiful and everything tastes as good as it looks. Visited multiple times and was never disappointed. Also, they serve Stumptown coffee. Standouts include: crack, all the breakfast croissants, and the cookies.

i didn’t know there was a purebread in vancouver till now! anyway, this is a lovely bakery in whistler village with a wide variety of pastries, baked goods, breads, cookies, some breakfast sandwiches, and good coffee. they really had a large selection available at 10AM. lavender earl grey scone– pretty good, made with actual lavender and earl grey tea bits salted caramel bar– pretty good but not amazing, pretty sweet crème brûlée bun– nice caramelization at the top like a real crème brûlée and filled with a lovely pastry cream. this item seemed more appropriate for dessert than breakfast! latte– smooth and rich

Oh, boy. Where to start? These are some amazing pastries, and you should commit to at least getting a couple before you go in, because the choices seem unlimited and it’s overwhelming to choose just one! Don’t be intimidated by the line out the door, it moves pretty quickly. I bought a nutella bun(very tasty), an almond croissant drizzled with chocolate and powdered sugar(also very tasty and flakey), an assortment of brownies(didn’t have them myself, but those that I was with said they were very good, as well) and an apple tart(husband said it was amazing). They serve Stumptown. I got a latte, which wasn’t the best ever, but serviceable in a pinch. Probably would have just stuck with a coffee if I had gone again during my visit to Whistler. Prices weren’t cheap(the five pastry items and latte totaled to around $ 25), but it was a nice treat.

I have no self restraint! The decadent treats are all displayed so tantalizingly! Who can resist? Everything is so good so I had no idea where to begin; but I have a weakness for chocolate so simply put I was overwhelmed and giddy at the selection! Depressing I couldn’t just try everything my eyes desired, so I settled on the raspberry cream cheese brownie; amazing. I’ll need to develop inner strength because there is a Purebread in Gastown! Now I know where to get my chocolate fix at home and Whistler!

A huge loaf of honey raisin bread and cheddar jalapeño scone and I’m full for the next 48 hours. There is a reason this place is very busy, it is ridiculously good! Whatever you do, make this a stop on your stay or stop in whistler, you will thank me later!

Purebread is a busy, busy bakery in Whistler Village for very good reason. Walk in and you are immediately drawn to an enormous display of baked goods(there are gluten-free and vegan options as well, so don’t despair). Reading the neat little tags will bewitch you with titles including words like«nutella» and«caramelized» and«brioche.» I settled on a nutella brioche, apple jack(essentially a turnover/danish type pastry), and an almond croissant because it looked like everyone there was getting almond croissants and I like to feel included. Apple jack: lots of apples, basically a really nice little apple pocket that fulfilled my sweet craving. Nutella brioche: Lots of nutella but also a lot of coconut layered in, which I’m not crazy about(I don’t like coconut) but the nutella balanced it out well. Almond croissant: Buttery, sweet, lots of marzipan that wasn’t sickeningly sweet like too many places do it now. Did I mention buttery(actually an AMAZING quality for croissants). Loved it. Not surprised at it flying off the shelves at all. Things to try next time: homity pie, which I didn’t even notice upon first glance but was recommended to try later(they also ran out). I was advised by a friend that Purebread also exists in Gastown, Vancouver, which makes it tantalizingly close on a regular basis for me.

I went in there 3 different times to try out different pastries. The reviews were good so I had to try it. Each time the staff wasn’t very helpful or friendly. The chocolate cake I purchased wasn’t very good at all. The last time I purchased a brownie which was average and the server didn’t get me correct change back. She was quite rude about it also. Will never go back. Terrible staff and after 3 attempts to try and like the place I am fed up and will no longer wast my money there.

It’s a good thing I don’t have one of these around where I live because otherwise, I would have a problem. I tried their chocolate croissant and caramelized onion with bacon tart and both were scrumptious and so good. Chocolate croissant was pretty good. I definitely would have multiple of those if I didn’t have to worry about my waist line. Was it the best I ever I had? I’ve had better ones but these were good with icing sugar on top. No chocolate chunks I these ones though but they did have a paste of some sort inside. Now my favourite was the tart. Who doesn’t love caramelized onion and bacon??? While it wasn’t super filling, it was enough to tie me over and get me ready for the croissant. Their coffee is good but they are pricey. After buying two cappuccinos, a tart and a chocolate croissant, it set me back by $ 16.00. This seems pretty expensive to me but to others with a fatter wallet, it may not. But I do highly recommend this place to anyone looking to get some baked goods if you are in whistler.

Our first morning in Whistler this summer my boyfriend was not feeling well, so I headed out on my own to grab us some breakfast. I had been to this café on our previous visit here and came here again. At first I had no idea how I could possibly choose from all the delectable looking pastries, but when a customer in front of me ordered the almond chocolate brioche, my choice was made. I ordered an apple tart for my man, as well as an iced coffee, and a cappuccino for myself. I drank the cappuccino on the way back, and though at first I panicked(is that too drastic of a word for a situation like this? ;) when I realized I forgot to put my usual sugar in it, this coffee drink did not need it at all. It was fantastic. As was my boyfriend’s coffee. Not that I drank part of it on my way back or anything. The brioche was incredible! So good, and I am bummed I did not order it again but hey I had to try more of their pastry selection. My boyfriend thought his apple tart was okay. I went back and proceeded to try the mocha loaf, which was just okay. Way too sweet in my tastes, with all the frosting. I also tried the lemon bar which was a little too dry and left me feeling parched even after downing some water. I also had a macchiato drink, which was just two shots of espresso with a hint of milk and way too strong for my taste, even after a little bit of sugar. Service was friendly on each visit. Though I did not love everything I tried, I still think this place is a gem.

I love Purebred. It’s funny I never noticed it until they temporarily moved next store to IGA due to a fire in the Tyndall Stone Lodge.(Now they are back in their original location which is near the Olympic Rings.) There are a lot of coffee/pastry places in Whistler, and I don’t drink coffee. Anyway, I stopped in and was debating a lemon crumble, but decided to ask the clerk what the«crack» meant. She was talking about a «butter tart» which didn’t sound super appealing to me, when some girl walked up behind me and said” Get the crack, it’s really good.“ So based on the recommendation of a total stranger, I did. It was really, really good. The lemon crumble is also good, BTW. I like Purebred so much the crack is listed as part of my last meal on my profile page! If you have a sweet tooth, I would say this is a «must do» in Whistler.(You can always exercise more tomorrow.)

With all the great reviews, we had to check this place out for ourselves. All the goodies look absolutely scrumptious and there are so many treats to choose from! The gals working up front were great, they took time to tell us about the pastries. I decided on the purebar which looked like a candy bar but was more like a energy/granola bar. It wasn’t too sweet and it had nuts and fruits in it. I ordered an americano as well but it was not hot when I received it. They had decided to have it accompany our other breakfast item that was warming in the oven. Next time, we’ll have to ask for the coffee first instead of have it sit there waiting.
