The Loft Salon

A great salon right in the village. I was here as part of a bridal party. The girls were professional and fast, and did a fabulous job of our hair and make up. They also offer quite a good range of hair products if you happen to have forgotten anything on your ski trip!

I don’t Unilocal a lot but when I do I usually reserve it for places where I’ve had a great experience. I’m just not a negative Unilocaler… so in the case of The Loft, I’m a fan. A big fan. When you’re in a resort town you just don’t expect to find that city quality of hair cut. I’m a guy so I’m just going by what I experienced here and I suppose it could be quite different for a female. But I doubt that because my girlfriend (if she Unilocal’d) would probably give this place a 5 star as well. She had a bunch more «female stuff» done that day … me, just a haircut.
So I had Jack (the owner) cut my hair. I’m usually the type to sit down and just say, «Take off 3 weeks worth». in this case he makes a suggestion that I go with something a little different. Hey, why not… and 30 minutes later I’m looking at quite the different lid on my head. And a fine one at that (first time ever I’ve had a haircut that got more than a couple comments).
So my experience was great, others might not have had the same. but what I can say is that Jack and the team there are great! The atmosphere is fun and energized (it was the day we went) and from what I see on the walls, they’re a pretty critically acclaimed outfit. Pros in other words.
My/​our five star is a solid five star
I live in Vancouver but I’m starting to think that I should be planning more than just ski weekends in Whistler.

During a recent trip to Whistler I needed to get my hair cut and coloured and decided to try The Loft Salon, and I’m so glad I did! All of the staff were friendly. Alice did a fantastic job walking me through some colour options and she listened well to my requests for my cut. Shauna gave me an excellent blowdry when Alice had to step away for another client (the blowdry left my hair shiny and full of body, with some curl at the ends). I left with a good cut and lovely colour and I was happy with the price too. Wish I could transplant this salon to Toronto so I could get their same great service in my home town!
