Loudest library ever! I tried to study there and all I could here was children yelling, running around and parents talking in outside voices. I get that there’s a baby section for storytime and thats absolutely fine but afterwards there needs to be a little respect for the other people. The librarians were just as loud almost yelling across the floor.

Free Wi-Fi! By using the internet at the library, I was able to easily check my emails and do research on what to do in and around Whistler. I saved money and avoided paying the daily internet usage fees back at the hotel. Who knew a library would be so useful in a place like Whistler!

Even when the it was in that little bungalow, this was the best library of all time. A fantastic selection of books, movies and music, I spent almost as much time searching the shelves as I did on the mountain. For a poor mountain employee, there isn’t a lot one can do in Whistler when you’re recovering from emergency surgery(my appendix and I’m fine). I am glad that I was cooped up at the beginning of the season because I was able to fully take advantage of this place. All of the librarians were super nice. The CDs were current and delightful. It’s because of them that I have a musical love for Sarah Harmer. The movies were a good mix of classics and new releases. I wouldn’t have read that whole winter if it hadn’t been for this magical place. The money just wasn’t there. Instead, I read some of the best books of my life. I highly recommend«Six Wives — The Queens of Henry VIII» by David Starsky. I was able to check out the new building the last time I was in town. Wow. With room to grow, the facility is just… wow. It may have taken two years longer than expected to finish, but it was worth the wait. The CD collection is bigger. All the books are out on the shelves. The free computers are more plentiful than before. The kids section is cozy. OK, I should stop. I’m gushing. But really, if you’re a seasonal worker, go here.
