Loved this place. Felipe is great and has the scoop of the island. I will be back to see him as soon as I can. Ceviche was fabulous!

Go see«Don Felipe», he is the owner and a rock star. Food is good and one of the better restaurant experiences in that area of the hotel zone.

I’m sorry, but my wife and I came here based off of some of the good reviews. It was just not good. Everything tasted old, not fresh, even the drinks were not made well(we could only taste lime juice). The manager gave us 15% off the bill since our plates had most of the food still on it. In detail, the chips were stale, the guacamole tasted old, the octopus ceviche tasted as if it had expired, and the shrimp ceviche was on the verge of expiring. *Also noticed: As we were leaving, a kitchen employee walked out of the bathroom and began using hand sanitizer, our waiter also did the same thing… I don’t know if the bathroom has a sink or not. This naturally concerned me. I would not come back nor recommend it for any one. The cost is pretty pricey considering what you’re getting and where they are actually located. There are plenty of other seafood restaurants nearby that are much nicer, taste better, and are a little more cost effective.

Bom ambiente e muito bem servido. Comemos tacos de camarão e ceviche de peixe. Ambos estavam muito bem elaborados e saborosos.

Went to this place after searching and searching for a decent Mexican place. We were staying across the street at the Riu, but wanted authentic Mexican food. Calypso’s is just a short walk away, in a small plaza by the OXXO convience store. Sysco was standing by the sidewalk handing out menus and we probably talked to him about 3 times while we were walking by, and then we finally decided to give his place a try. I am SOOO glad we did! The owner took care of us, who is Sysco’s brother. The people complaining about food taking a while, please realize that their small kitchen is upstairs and only ONE cook makes everyone’s meals. Be patient. I had the Mayan fish and my significant other had chicken and steak tacos. Amazing. They really treat you well here. We had a couple tequila shots on the house and we got pretty toasty. The next day we went to Mextreme but the food wasn’t that great. Come here if you really want real home made Mexican.

We ate here for a late lunch one afternoon and loved it. Great casual eatery that was a short walk from our hotel. Felipe the owner is a really sweet guy. Place has a nice, relaxed vibe. The chicken quesadillas and the ceviche tostadas were all very tasty. Be sure to have some shots of tequila. Would definitely come back!

This is a tourists’ trap. I tried the seafood platter which is nothing good but cost me $ 60 usd and the place has so many flies around you while eating. Will not come back. 这边菜难吃又贵 还不如去更大的餐馆。而且我在短短的半个小时里被蚊子咬了三口, 环境很差。还花了$ 70美金吃了一个非常没特色的海鲜拼盘。

Excellent Mexican food at an affordable price. From the margaritas to the fish tacos, the meal was delicious. But at this price, don’t expect air conditioning — which for me is a plus, because I’m tired of freezing in restaurants!

Waiter was a lot of fun, and very welcoming. We got three tequila shots on the house. Chicken fajitas were very tasty. Mixed drink was quite weak.

Good food. Not too expensive and the service was awesome. Waiter was happy and fun. Shrimp fajitas and crane asada were delicious. In the hotel zone with so many crappy tourist traps this was a nice down to earth homey hidden gem.

Came here because it was reasonably priced, but they also take their reasonably LONG time to prepare the food. I ordered the calimari as an appetizer, but I had to cancel it after about 45 minutes and then 5 minutes later they bring out the rest of our food. I got the lobster tails and shrimp. Both were decent and priced at $ 24.99 usd. It came with a baked potato and mixed vegetables both of which were edible. We also ordered the fish tacos. These are not battered fish, it’s grilled and they were not good. Lastly we got the green chicken enchiladas, these were decent! Nothing special! Honestly, all the good restaurants seem to be in the city or AWAY from the tourist area in the hotel zone(coco bongo, Hard Rock Café etc) I would also suggest using a certain other trip website to «advise» you on where to eat! Sadly all the good places in cancun were $$$ and above haha.
