We actually came here twice during our stay in Cancun. First time we came here it was a 3 star experience. We were literally standing right in front of the place when we were undecided on a quick bite to eat and decided to give them another shot and were promptly awarded with another 3 star experience. lol (+) Fun, festive atmosphere with employees that are pretty friendly! Slow… but friendly. (+/-) Food was pretty good, for the most part. Nothing really blew me away. Nothing made me hurl and curse my bad luck either. Chicken Burrito and Taco Party were high points, IMO. (-) On my second trip we were given our usual complimentary chips and salsa, same as last time. A few moments later, our waitress brought us a serving of guacamole and chips as well. I’m not a big guac fan, but it felt like a nice touch. It ends up we were charged 79 pesos for that, even though we never ordered it. 79 pesos is about $ 4.25USD. I’m not going to complain or have a hissy fit over $ 4.25, but it still left a bad taste in my mouth. This place was alright. I wouldn’t make it a destination spot, but if you find yourself here and are in need of a bite to eat, it will get the job done. 3 stars. A-Ok.

My family and I originally didn’t plan on going here, and since we couldn’t find the restaurant we planned on going to, we decided to stop here. One of the best decisions we made! We’re a group of 7 and when we all ordered drinks they carried them on top of their heads, and continously gave us WONDERFUL service, with a mariachi band and the servers gave us a dance as well where people could come up and join. Loved it loved it loved it! I highly suggest anyone who visits here to make a stop by, and not break your wallet.

We both went to Mextreme with Mexican food and sea food. The Mextreme one was better, and I prefer the nacho to mixed grill in the Mexican one. In mixed grill, I have to say, chicken was over cooked, and in the seafood restaurant, the mussel was not quite fresh.

This place is awesome! We only left our hotel to eat out on one night of our holidays and I’m so glad we stumbled across this place! Not only is the atmosphere brilliant with bright Mexican colours, live music and cheerful staff but the food was unreal — so tasty and exactly what you expect from a traditional Mexican restaurant! The food and alcohol was surprisingly cheap and the portion sizes where massive! If I ever go back to cancun(which I hope I will) I will most definitely be coming back here!

Dined here twice while in Cancun. Both times were for breakfast where I had the traditional breakfast which consisted of pancakes, bacon and potatoes. I substituted my eggs for potatoes with no problems. Everything was good. No complaints. Second day I had initially ordered chicken tacos but they were out of chicken so quesadilla it was! Cheese quesadilla and potatoes. Again, not bad or anything stunningly different but hit the spot. For a sure fire breakfast this place is a do!

Came for breakfast and surprisingly they had a bfast menu. Ofc a lot on the menu are eggs. Lol i totally forgot the name of what my bf ordered but it’s pretty much a cauldron of eggs and salsa with tortilla on the side. I ordered a rack of enchiladas. We also ordered 2 mimosas on the side. The food and drinks took a bit to come out. Also if you asked for water they will bring bottled water and charge you for it. The mimosa were freshly squeezed orange juice! Super delicious. The food was great I liked my enchiladas a whole lot. We also asked for hot sauce and the manager came back with this super delicious sauce. Not spicy to us but it does add a good kick to the food. Overall a very good experience and very clean place. The waitress even brought over bug spray for me seeing that I got bit by a mosquito. Great service !

Loved this place and totally don’t understand the cons! Every table(outdoor patio was filled when I went) was filled with people enjoying their time. Waiters want you to have a good time so they serve drinks and meals on their head, they dance, and above that, they are attentive and friendly. Give me a break that some speak little English(eye roll), are Americans really so entitled? News flash, you’re in Mexico! The menu is in English! Is that not Good enough? Did I mention that they have mariachi bands? What a fun time. It’s an extremely great atmosphere, very clean, and you can see right into the kitchen. Food was comparative to the Mexican restaurants where I’m from in CT, USA. So no surprises or anything out of the ordinary, typical burritos and quesadillas for my group and I. Definitely much better than the food at our resort. $ 90 for SIX people. Food drinks and appetizers! The fresh table side guacamole was amazing! And everyone was satisfied with their meals!

I read most of the reviews for this restaurant. Even a couple of locals recommended it too, but I’m sorry I just didn’t get what everyone is talking about. Yes they bring your drinks on their head, and yes they have a band playing music. But I came for the food, and I’m not ten years old. I ordered chicken and steak fajitas, and basically that’s all I got. I don’t know, I’m just used to fajitas having a little cheese and yellow rice on the side. Not just refried beans. And I wish they spoke a little more english, I know I’m in their country but I just wanted to know what kind of fish was on the menu. Oh well when in doubt order fajitas. Thank goodness the fajitas were at least tasty. Missing the cheese and the rice but tasty. Lol

Most fun place to eat in Cancun! I never leave reviews but this place was awesome. They bring the drinks on their heads, light the alcohol on fire, and have a blast talking with you(especially if you’re willing to try spanish — mine is terrible, but when in Mexico!) Definitely worth leaving your resort for!

Had a great experience the first time our group went. This place is great with family or group of friends. They have plenty of outdoor as well as indoor seating. They also have a live mariachi band playing music outside. If you’re hesitating on what to order, I definitely recommend the Mixed Platter. It has a little bit of everything so you won’t feel like you’re missing out. The fun part is, watching the servers bringing your drinks to the table by balancing the huge glass/pitchers on their heads! I don’t know what happened the second time we came here, because the service and food experience was so disappointing. Granted they were a lot busier the second time around…

We came here twice during our trip, because the first night was good and we thought they gave us a coupon, which ended up being a coupon for their sister restaurant next door. We didn’t try out the sister restaurant, as it didn’t seem to be doing well and had poor review. Comparing our first night here to our second night, it was like night and day. First night, restaurant wasn’t too busy, servers were a lot attentive, also giving us a free appetizer platter. Alcohol beverages were delivered by servers balancing them on their heads and food was delicious! Second night, it was packed with people so no free appetizer, drinks were not delivered on top of the servers’ heads, servers were never to be found, and food was just bad. Food wise, it could have been what we ordered, which was the taco platter and enchiladas. We never got the complimentary chips and salsas until we asked them about it when they brought out our entrees. We were pretty hungry this night and was not in the best of moods after all this, which seemed to be the case for all the tables around us. I do like the drinks here. First night, we ordered piña colada and riveria maya, the second night. Maya tastes like strawberry daiquiri with piña colada, and a mix of another drink. On the first night, we ordered the mixed platter and was super good!!! I would strongly recommend this. It comes with perfectly seasoned steak slices, grilled shrimp, peppers, onions, cactus, chicken, potato wedges, and fish filets! My favorites were the steak and the fish. The whole platter is good for 3 to 4 people and it will not dissapoint you. So, go here, in hopes that it won’t be a busy night and you will be set. Also, couple of interesting items to mention… they do have live band playing music, not sure whether it’s every night and have interesting bar stools that is shaped like butts for your photo op!

Great food. One of the better meals we had in cancun. But the prices are a little higher than what we payed at other places. The drinks were okay, nothing special. Though the way they brought them over is pretty cool(balanced on their head). Might seem like a tourist spot but the food was authentic and delicious. It’s near the clubs and open till 12, so I’d check it out if you’re in the area. I got one of the Mexican special, the name escapes me but it had shrimp, chicken, beef, sausage and on other type of meat. All of the meats were great. My friend got the fish dish which was also very good.

Just meh. They serve«Mexican» food quite obviously crafted for the tourists of the nearby hotels. It’s not authentic, inexpensive or even that good. I’ve had far better«Mexican» food at most neighborhood taquerias in the US. Venture onward into Cancun proper to find the real stuff.

Food is descent so are the drinks but you are really here for the non stop entertainment by the waiters and waitresses. They all have a unique talent including carrying multiple drinks on their head. They play music and dance every hour too. Fun place right by the main drag. Priced in the higher side.

Tucked away from the tourist traps, this place is easy to get to, cheap and so much fun, food is amazing too. It’s also a short bus ride from the hotel zone(15 min). There’s always either a band or mariachi band playing here. The servers and just/hostesses are friendly. If it’s not raining I suggest sitting outside. I got the emmoladas, which is chicken mole wrapped in corn tortillas… so good! Just enough sauce, flavor & portions. Chips were fresh! The margaritas were strong and delicious. Loved the experience here!

This restaurant has amazing authentic Mexican food! I got the chicken burrito. They make the guacamole right in front of you. The waiters bring your drinks on their head. The waiters are entertaining and play jokes. The ambiance is very fun-Mexican. It’s located in the center of the action in downtown Cancun. We bought a flask of tequila with our picture on it as a souvenir. Prices are kind of gringo expensive. But it’s still really worth the experience. As for water, since I mention it in every review, you have to buy bottled agua purificada. I would definitely come back on my next trip to Cancun, no mames guey!

This restaurant is extremely touristy in the smack dab middle of the hotel zone. For the quality and quantity of food, the price was pretty high for the area. We were seated on the outside patio. Our waiter was very nice but it took forever to get our drinks and food. We ended up getting the taco plate to share along with a giant piña colada. The taco plate wasn’t impressive but it was decent. Let’s just say I wouldn’t come back for it. The drink was a little on the weak side. On the hour, they have the waiters stop working and go dance together. It made the place feel even more like a tourist trap. Also during that time, you basically can’t get any service at all because all the servers are busy dancing. My recommendation is to skip it and head out to the city instead of hotel zone for better restaurants with better deals.

Talk about authentic mexican food! Don’t underestimate this location that isn’t on the main street. It has plenty of outdoor seating and and the they were able to accommodate my party of 9 in less than 10 minutes. The food did take a while to arrive but that is because we ordered a lot so it’s understandable. The waiter is able to carry all the drinks on one tray on top of his head all the way to the table. It’s absolutely impressive and the entire ambience of the place just screams relaxing and FUN. The food is also phenomenal! We ordered fresh made guac and they prepared it in front of us. The avocados in cancun are HUGE and delicious. The drinks are also delicious. I got a strawberry and mango margarita in a to go fat tuesday like cup for easy traveling. For the 9 of us we got 2 taco parties which come with various meats, guac, beans, and fresh and warm tortillas. We also got the mixed grill which has fish, chicken, beef, and it was absolutely delicious! My brother got the soup and he enjoyed it. The quesadilla was pretty good as well they use a white cheese instead of the yellow one we always use in the states. Everyone really enjoyed the meal and the price was super affordable. Only 2000 pesos for 9 people. This place is highly recommended!

Alina was a great waitress… We have the taco fiesta and the guacamole. It came with five different types of meat and frijoles charros. Alina arrived to our table balancing our drinks on her head, which was pretty cool! We did not have any alcoholic beverages here since we have all the free alcohol we want in our hotel room. It is nice to leave the hotel and the hagglers, to say the least lol. Definitely try this place. Prices are not too bad and the portions were great for two people. If you like spicy salsas, ask for their habanero– DELISH!

We came here on our last night and because we had a coupon for 15% off. We were staying in the hotel zone so we wanted something within walking distance. Things can be quite cheap in Mexico, but not so in the hotel zone in Cancun. Expect equivalent American prices of about 10 – 20 dollars a plate. That said, we enjoyed our time greatly. They have a nice patio for dining outdoors, a small ensemble of mariachi musicians playing music, and very friendly waitstaff. We ordered a spicy mango margarita and another one of their popular drinks. They were both delicious. We ordered their ceviche and appetizer platter and fish tacos to share. It was more than enough food for the three of us. The ceviche was definitely the highlight of the meal.

We ate at Mextreme on our first night in Cancun simply due to convenience/location. They have a great outdoor seating area and had exceptional service. I would definitely say their food is O-K. Its very much what you would see in the states. Prices are quite reasonable for hotel zone standards. I ordered a ceviche(nice portion but almost solely shrimp) and the«Mayan» soup which was essentially chicken tortilla soup(total for both was $ 12 + free appetizer for standing outside and hmm-hawing over their menu). Drinks are pricey but oh man, the delivery is delightful. How does one balance 3 margaritas one’s head? I echo what the others say about checking in on Unilocal to get the additional 15% off. Plus, they will give you a 20% off coupon for their sister restaurant next door.

The only word I could discribe the food at Mextreme is awesome! We were staying close by at the Aloft and we read the reviews and we thought we’d try this place out. We walked over and I thought this place looked like an average tourist joint. I ordered the stuffed fish fillet and I have to say, it was one of the most delicious fish I had ever tasted. My wife had a dish that was simular to a fajita, but grilled and served in a volcanic vessel, consisting of beef, pork and chicken. The food here is outstanding and the service was actually entertaining! The staff was very friendly and they actually seem to enjoy being there. We were only in the area for a day and we moved south to the Westin Lagoonamar 2 miles south. But we enjoyed Mextreme so much, we actually took the bus back to have dinner here again!

My friends and I decided to eat here at 11pm. This place wasn’t too crowded and I thought the ambiance was Mexican inspired. They were fine with us walking in with our own beers. I shared a ceviche and meat platter with my friend. The meat grill came with steak, chicken, shrimp, sausage, green peppers, onions, and a grilled serrano chili pepper with a Scoville heat index of up to 25,000! Keep in mind, a jalapeño only has a heat index of 2000 – 5000. My friend and I split the pepper in half, unaware that it was a serrano pepper. The subsequent events that occurred involved a lot of tears. The heat slowly creeped up on me and I didn’t know when it was going to stop increasing. I normally can handle spicy food, but this is a whole other level of spiciness. The server laughed at us and gave us a plate of sugar to cool the heat down. My friends did not believe us and thought we were overreacting so they asked the server to bring out a couple of more serrano peppers to try. And they learned the hard way as well. My friends also tried tacos, guacamole, etc., which they thought were delicious. The ceviche that I got had the perfect amount of savoriness and acidity. The avocado also balances the acidity. I definitely recommend this place for those that are around the area! They also offer a 15% discount if you check in on Unilocal
