We ate here for the first time this trip. We had a great waiter and great food and drinks. Just enough food and authentic. Fresh veggies and chips. We will definitely eat there again next year!

Nic and I had dinner here last night, and it was right in line with our expectations. It’s in the mall, so it’s surrounded by stores and other touristy restaurants, but we got a table right up front on the boardwalk and enjoyed a nice dinner together. N got the chicken, beef and shrimp skewers, and I got the all you can eat chicken fajitas. Throw in 2 Cadillac margaritas and our total bill was MXN$ 900 including tip. N’s was pretty good, but we both really enjoyed the chicken in my fajitas. It’s not the fanciest place, or the most authentic, but if you want an easy Mexican meal, this is a good choice. Insider tip: as you tour the boardwalk, play hard to get before selecting your restaurant, and everyone will offer a special or coupon if it’s slow. Mr. Papa’s offers your second round free with a paid entrée. Their margaritas were pretty good, and served in huge mason jars, so 2 should be more than enough!

Went for some fruity drinks with my girlfriend. Drinks were good but far to pricey… id rather go to a little shack near the beach. The view here is of the dark bay water… No the beautiful Caribbean on the other side of cancun

Thanks Shane C. For the tip to stay away from the squeeze cheese. That being said the Mexican food here was good. I ordered the Mixto tacos, 3 tacos, 1 steak, 1 chicken, and 1 prawn served with beans, chips, pico de gallo, and a green saicew. I was pleasantly surprised how filled they were with meat! My hubby ordered the ceviche which was filled with prawns and fish, also amazing. Customer service was super friendly and prices are what you would expect in the tourist zone.

We decided to try Mr Papas and my wife went with a stuffed baked potato with cheese, sour cream, and broccoli. She was unimpressed. To give you an idea of how bad her potato was, she went straight back to the hotel to eat a cup of noodle soup! The cheese they use for the potato is cheap squeeze cheese and it’s actually cold. They put so much cheese that it’s actually overwhelming. I ordered Nachos for an appetizer abs it was also a pile of chips drowning in cold squeeze cheese. We got the chicken fingers appetizer for our daughter and they seemed good if extremely thin. This place also includes a tip on the check which I don’t particularly like… Why am I giving it three stars then? The service was good and very prompt. And my order, the lobster dinner with garlic butter, was fantastic! More lobster than I was expecting, good vegetable mix and baked potato, all with a yummy garlic butter filling the plate beneath it all. Baby Lobster restaurant was better(food quality, cold beer) but it was a bit more expensive and they don’t have a great view like Mr Papas. My recommendation if you go to Mr Papas — get the seafood. Avoid the papas!
