Sort of average quality food, had no major regret but certainly did not blow me away. One thing to watch out for is the conversion rate from MX peso to USD… These folks have their own rate… about a couple of pesos more expensive… So makes a difference to the total bill.

This place seems to be the place where the drinks over-shadow the food, kind of like how a few drinks makes an average girl look better. The food is terrible. The«grilled sirloin«taco platter had so little meat on it, that it was ridiculous. Think extremely thin sliced Arby’s, but with no flavor. The service was excellent, the location was nice, the guacamole was great, we did not like the chips, and the salsa was not good either. I did not try the Margaritas but the food has much to be desired.

Terrific Night by the Lagoon! Enrique Z. provided excellent service. Our margaritas were strong and well mixed. We had guacamole(yummy) and tacos — pastor and steak. All were very good. The free chips that come with the meal include 6 different kinds of salsa so you can favor your dish however you like. Overall, the ambience was relaxing, the waiter was attentive, and the food and drinks were delicious. We will return.

Nice little restaurant near the heart of the Cancun tourist area. One of few places I found in Cancun where you can enjoy a Mexican microbrew; not a huge assortment, but a good representation of local beers.

Food & drinks were great! Casual dining and conveniently located at La Isla shopping center. We liked that it faced the lagoon. A lady making fresh tortillas right in the restaurant added to the authenticity of tortillas. Delicious! Sever Eric was friendly and very accommodating. Kids menu available.

Really good Mexican food, the tacos where great. Everything I ordered was cooked perfectly. Great view right on the water and the prices are very reasonable. All major credit cards accepted. If you’re looking to escape from your hotel for a bit, Tacos y Tequila is a great option.

We came here with low expectations but didn’t want to eat at Hooters or Chili’s which we could have at home. We ordered the tequila sampler and the taco sampler because what else does one order at Tacos y Tequila? We were pleasantly surprised at how good the taco’s were. The dark green spicy salsa was really good! Service was attentive and helpful. I’d eat here again for sure!

Easy, casual place. Service was fine. Food was fine. Tortilla chips were good. Freshly friend and came with a ton of sauces. Sauces were from no heat to spicy. I loved the spicy one but too hot for my friend. The second hottest also good. Typical avocado salsa with some good heat. The tacos were good but nothing to write home about. I’m from LA so I may be jaded. We have amazing tacos all over so my standards are high.

The chicken had a weird taste to it. Margaritas had negligible(if any) tequila. We got an order of queso, and it was small and flavorless.

Reasonably priced and large variety of Mexican food, good location and staff very friendly. Not the best Mexican food I’ve ever had but was nice.

Below average place. Went here because of proximity to my hotel. The tacos were average. They were not bad; but, not great either. The alcoholic drinks were weak! Everyone in my party, 8 people, had the large Margaritas and everyone thought they were weak. My mom who is a tiny lady didn’t even get a slight buzz. Totally weak drinks. We also had nachos and empanadas. They were below average. Service was OK. But, we asked for water when we arrived and it never came. We walked a fair distance and were a little thirsty. Also, they were stingy with the chips. When we asked for more chips they tried to tell us you only get two small baskets for 8 people. Finally, because our food took a little while to come; our waiter got us some extra chips. Also, the lack of water sucked because some of the salsas were spicy and without water no one wanted to eat them. I will not visit this place again on my vacation.

My fiancé and I have stayed across the street twice in a row and we came here each time! The staff is extremely friendly! The food is amazing and my fiancé says these are some of the best tacos he’s ever had in Mexico! The margaritas are made out of fresh ingredients, they are delicious and how margaritas in the U.S. should be made!

Get the«order» which is three tacos and beans on the side. Shrimp is really good. The«gordito» version is just flour tortilla and cheese melted too which is greasier than most could probably handle, the normal taco style is good.

Love this place! Go here every time we’re in town. Great service, fresh homemade corn tortillas(they make them in front of you) and awesome Margaritas . Get the chicken tacos, perfectly marinated and the mango margarita.

Are we in Mexico or not? Forget about Hooters or Chili’s chain. My fiancé and I where looking for a place to eat real authentic food. This place sells 7 different types of Tacos. And don’t forget the beans made out of la hoya. You can’t miss this place. There’s a lady prep fresh tortillas! This tacos are better than Rubios. I’m in HEAVEN!

This place was okay. Located directly across from Hooters which was much more lively. Tacos y tequila hostess are literally trying to pull in patrons in their attempt to compete for business with a restaurant just like it next door who’s hostesses are doing the exact same thing. The struggle is real! Their focus and known for their wide selection in tequila and perhaps do their tequila better then their food. The overall food experience… bar food at best. The service was okay. At the end our server was no place to be found. After sitting for about 10 minutes and with a server and a hostess trying to find our server he came running back to our table. He handed us our check and stated that the tip was not included. After giving him the cash to pay, he never returned with my change. If your looking for a good tequila place try Tacos y Tequila.

Tacos y Tequila is located smack dab in the middle of the restaurants in La Isla shopping mall. It’s main unique draw is the ladies that handmake the corn tortillas as you’re walking in. They lured us in with the promise of free curaçao drinks, and of course it worked. The drinks were delicious and I’m pretty convinced instead of salt there was blue fun dip on the rim, which was a delightful touch! As soon as you are seated, you get soup. It looked questionable, but as soon as we added cilantro, onion, jalapeño and lime, it was super! My mouth is watering thinking about it! We ordered the nachos after seeing some others around us getting it and the mixed taco platter. The nachos were packed with ingredients! They definitely didn’t skimp; however the chips were chewy. It tasted like they had been fried a few times too many, so steer clear of that. The mixed taco platter was pretty darn good though. For 225 pesos you get 7 tacos(to share) and each a different flavor. The cactus taco was our least favorite, but most likely it’s an acquired taste. The tacos also come with a side, we picked guacamole, but there are beans, more cactus, and rice options as well. Just a note, the picture looks like there is cheese on the tacos, but it is pineapple. You must pay an addition $ 125 pesos for cheese on the tacos. The prices are decent, and the food is good. But the reason they got 3 stars is those darn chewy chips. It made my almost delicious nacho dish a waste. Other than that, the service and people are fantastic!

After flying into and getting into our hotel quite late in the evening, we were starving when we boarded a bus downtown. We actually got on a bus headed in the wrong direction so the driver near-insisted we get off at the mall to avoid ending up back at the airport. We wandered over to Tacos y Tequila right next to the water, which provided a nice view, and were quickly seated. The restaurant was filled with tourists, and the menu was in English, but this isn’t a huge surprise given the location. Celebrating our first night of vacation, we ordered a flight of tequila and the special citrus margarita to share. Honestly, the margarita appeared to be the same size as the other margaritas, even though it was advertised as larger. The free tortillas and soup were a nice touch, and we enjoyed watching the women hand make tortillas. The portions were on the smaller size, but the food was flavorful and decent for a laidback dinner. Not somewhere I would recommend to anyone, but it served its purpose to satiate our hunger that night.

Taco & Tequila survives mainly on its close proximity to Cancun’s hotel zone and overpriced, weak alcoholic drinks. It’s food is average at best. Since we were staying at the Westin directly across the street from the shopping mall and Taco & Tequila by default, this place was quite popular to come to for drinks while watching the sun set over the lagoon. Taco & Tequila has a large, covered patio with lots of box fans constantly blowing and a good, open view of the lagoon(its main selling point). It has lots of margaritas and other liquor based beverages on its menu, plus a two-for-one happy hour special. The food menu consists of tacos, quesadillas, burritos, fajitas, guacamole and cheese dips, etc. Everything you’d expect at a «Mexican» restaurant. The times we went, we usually only got snack-y appetizers. My boyfriend and I got alcohol — I had the Caribbean daquiri and he had the house margarita — both were too weak and very sugary. We also got the chorizo queso with homemade flour tortillas and a chicken quesadilla. The chorizo was very difficult to scoop up because the cheese was so thick and gooey and the chorizo(very oily) seemed almost like it had just been sprinkled on top of the melted cheese as an afterthought. The quesadilla was better, but really, how do you mess that up, it’s so basic? And that’s really all I can say about Taco & Tequila: great location, very ho-hum everything else.

Good food at a great price! Must try: The 7 variety taco option is great and delicious! Trust me… Get the shrimp empanadas! Comes with a side of guac, sour cream and pico de gallo Mango margarita… comes with chili on the rim :) they have a variety of salsas and the kitchen is open you can see all the sizzling going in! Oh did I mention that the tortillas are hand made! I went here a couple of times during my stay and it did not disappoint! It is located in from of hooters with a view of the marina.
