Whenever I go to Cabo I go to Gordo Lele’s almost daily for the good food, but mostly for Gordo. He is in the hospital in Mexico City. I hope his other loyal customer wish him well on his recovery

Whenever I travel, I want to try out food that locals or in-the-know visitors frequent. Gordo Lele’s is such a place. Great prices, especially compared to places just a few blocks away. If you’re a fan of great tacos or tortas and The Beatles, this is the place to visit. We had four tacos(al pastor, asada, chicken, and shrimp) and a plain quesadilla. ¡Muy delicioso!

This guy knows his business. We were a little apprehensive because the place is so small and out of the way. I’m happy we took a chance. By far the best meal we ate while we were in Cabo. We tried both the tortas and tacos and were not disappointed. We started slow with just one of each and continued to try almost everything on the menu. Granted the menu is small. Highly recommend. You won’t be disappointed.

This little taco shop is worth the effort to find in the back streets near the marina. Pollo, chorizo or carne asada tacos are only 20 pesos each and are quite tasty and filling. The star of the meal for us, though, were the shrimp tacos. The shrimp are soooo good and the sauce and fixings were the perfect accompaniment! Throw in a cold cerveza and you’ve got a great lunch! The only drawback is that it is definitely a shack, with Beatles paraphernalia covering the walls and hanging from the ceiling, though I think it adds to the experience with the owner waiting on you hand and foot. A must visit if in Cabo for multiple days and looking for some non-tourist tacos!

Small hole-in-the-wall with fantastic tacos. Really can’t go wrong, especially if you like the Beatles.(You have to go to find out about the Beatles)

Gordo(Javier) serves the BEST tacos in Los Cabos! We’ve been there numerous times and he never disappoints. Just GO!

My wife and I have been eating here since 2004(It used to be located at a different location). My wife, four adults and I returned this week((Sunday 07÷26÷15) for lunch. Cesar(AKA el gordo Lele) over charged us and didn’t even sing one single song?. He decided to charge us $ 80.00US Dollars for(2 torta’s, 3 cheese quesadillas, 2 carne asada tacos and 3 regular beers). It appeared the place is going downhill and Cesar needs to retire. We were ALL very disappointed. We are fluent Spanish speakers and my wife is from Guadalajara, MX and we live in the US. I will make sure we tell our friends, co-workers, and family members not to go to this place. The food was good and that’s the only reason we gave it a one star. He appeared more interested in watching the soccer game and the food quality has gone downhill. Never again… if you decide to eat here, ask him for the receipt and compare the prices with the menu. He probably will charge you for a song! This place only has less than 10 reviews.

Gordo’s place is literally a «hole in the wall», yet he has a phenomenal following, even from cruise ship passengers who make their way to his place… Why? You ask… because Javier makes some of the best Tortas in town. The price is comfortable, as the entertainment by the«fifth Beatle» is priceless… always worth a stop when in town…

I hate to be the first person to only give four stars, but that is the consensus decision of my wife and I after five tacos. We had a few chicken tacos, which were fabulous, and a few fish tacos, which were not quite as good(still good though), and a shrimp taco which was very good, though covered in cheese(which I did not expect or enjoy). Javier did sing a Beatles tune after some prompting, which we both enjoyed, but seemed more interested in the Mexican soccer championship that was going on during our meal(I would probably feel the same way). All in all a very good stop, and super cheap(about $ 10 for two), but it did not blow my mind like Claro’s did.

I’m so excited to be able to share my love of Cabo on Unilocal!and you simply can’t go without stopping here!!! There simply aren’t enough words to describe how amazing the tacos are and it’s been at least 3 – 4 years since I’ve been!!! That’s how amazing they were! I had a chicken and steak for lunch and ordered more to take with me. I remember they weren’t quite the same after sitting overnight in the hotel fridge but they were still really good! I first read about Javier, the 5th beetle, on TripAdvisor and remember turning down the street thinking ‘there’s no way this can be good’. I was amazed! Just try it, you’ll be too! Can’t wait to go back! He’s warm, welcoming and will make you a fantastic meal!

My friends and I drove to San Lucas from Phoenix in 2010 for spring break(this should clue you in to how much we love Mexico) — and stayed in a little shack close to Gordo’s. During this time Gordo’s was nothing more than a crevice between buildings that held a fridge, a flat stovetop, and Gordo. We stayed in San Lucas for 3 weeks and ate there every day– the food was filling, flavorful, well priced, and made with Sinatra love. I’m glad to see he has made his empire and continued to do what he loves. He has become the epitome of Cabo street tacos. Enjoy the food and song.

Gordo Lele’s is run by the one and only Javier. He is a singular character, that Javier. Firstly, because he cooks up literally the very best food I have ever had the pleasure of consuming(I mean… I was a little drunk, I’ll admit – but pretty sure even stone cold sober – which I NEVER am while gallivanting around Cabo San Lucas – his food is astronomical – you’ll just probably not feel the urge to immediately«hug it out» with poor unsuspecting Javier and cry a little over the«pure angelic» deliciousness of his chorizo tacos). And, secondly, because he serenades Sinatra to you while doing so(and quite competently at that – he’s quite the charmer – and, if Sinatra is not to your liking, he’s a huge Beatles fan as well). His place is on the small side(though infinitely bigger than his previous location). But, there are indoor tables where you may sit and enjoy your tacos. Or, you could take them with you as you wander the streets of Cabo. Me? I always stay. Gordo Lele’s tacos deserve to be leisurely enjoyed while you sit and listen to Javier croon. You may want to close your eyes to thoroughly and lovingly BE in that moment. Seriously, my people, enough cannot be said. Words are simply inadequate. Plus, the tacos are cheap to boot. Which, means, you’ll finish your tacos, stand, begin walking out, stop, and say to Javier, «Just one more, Javier, just ONE more!» To recap: «Pure Angelic» tacos Singing chef extraordinaire Reasonable prices Get to it!
