After being in PV for a few days, I just want to be able to enjoy a food other than tacos… Tacos are delicious, but surely there is something else to enjoy here! Indeed there is… Mole. And these guys can do it, I think. I am no mole expert, but the mole I got was delicious! As others stated, you get to try three different types of mole before settling on one for your plate. We both got enchiladas(130 – 140 pesos). I got the vegetarian version, and my husband got the chicken. I enjoyed mine, there were four: corn mix, cheese, plantains, and cactus. Side of rice and beans don’t hurt either. I tried their mango margarita… It was okay– I suppose I was expecting more of a mango taste. It was fine, a little pricier than the usual margarita around town at 60 pesos but still cheap by American standards. I enjoyed their special spivey salt they put on the brim. I believe it is the same stuff they flavor fruits with. A plus is that it is out of the regular touristy area, so a walk to and away from the restaurant resulted in what felt more like genuine Puerto Vallarta. Whether that is true or not I will never know, but I enjoyed my experience there.

Great mole(in 3 flavored) and good service. The live music and location was an added positive touch. All in all, a definite recommend.

I walked by and heard this amazing singer Neri so I stopped and listened for a bit. I could tell it was a family owned restaurant and I learned the recipes are from grandma. I had never had mole so I thought this would be a great place to try it. The owner explained there were 3 types to choose from so he sent a sample dish to the table. I ended up with 4 vegetarian enchiladas stuffed each with banana, poblano, cheese and cactus. Since I liked all the mole sauces he suggested to have it with all three. An amazing dinner, great service and with a talent like Neri charming the crowd with his Spanish songs on guitar this will be a highlight of my trip. Ask for the fresh made tortillas which are amazing on their own or you can use them to wipe the plate clean. I want to be adopted by this family.

I love this place and went out of my way to eat here more than once during my trip. The Mole is out of this world just like I remembered it from 4 years ago last time I was there. I suggest you get the classic mole and the empanadas along with a mojito.

This place is a must when you are down in Puerta Vallarta. Great mole, great service, great atmosphere. They make some unique flavors of mole with recipes that the owner told me were handed down to him from his grandmother who started cooking when she was a little girl. As I’m writing this my mouth is watering. Go there, you won’t be disappointed.

We are an extended family of eight, with some particular eaters, and years of exposure to some of the best authentic Mexican food available. One or two of us may also be lacking in patience and don’t like waiting around with large groups of strangers to get seated to eat. We read great reviews for this place and decided to give it a try. So glad we did. We arrived right at the peak of dinner time, and while other places had lines forming on the sidewalk, we were taken to the lovely back patio and seated immediately. A talented guitarist was playing and it was the perfect background music for our meal. The patio itself was quaint and peaceful, like a secret garden off the busy street. And the food was as delicious as all the other reviews have said. All 8 of us loved our meals, and left there quite satisfied!

Amazing mole! Definitely ranks among the best I have had. Top 5! Half portion is pefect size. They typically use 4 eggs but we got 2 egg omelette. Vegetarian omelette was also good. Not big on flavor per as but it worked especially with the beans. Great combination. Cute atmospehere, simple, causal. Feels family owned because it is. Definitely recommend. Priced well.

My spouse wanted to try their mole, so in we went. ATMOSPHERE: The small restaurant has a few indoor seats and some on the sidewalk. They were one of the few places open for lunch in the area to boot. MENU: Traditional Mexican with 3 different mole sauces which our server brought out for us to try: Cilantro which I liked because I couldn’t taste a hint of my kryptonite herb, pumpkin which was my second fave, and a traditional chocolate mole, my least favorite. FOOD: Chips & Salsa — On the house. The salsa was a 3 on 5 heat scale. The chips were thicker than normal. Lentil Soup — This was very good. I’m used to thick lentil soups, but this one was very thin, though with excellent taste. Bits of bacon enhanced the flavor. Tortilla Soup — My spouse’s app. I’m not a huge fan of tortilla soup, but theirs was good, light and subtle. Fresh avocados and sour cream topped the soup along with tortilla strips. Range Plate — This is a huge dish, enough for 4 to share comfortably. I got the one that’s loaded with 1 tostada, 2 crispy tacos, 2 enchiladas, and 2 sopes, all with shredded pork, and topped with shredded lettuce, and refried beans. The enchiladas were covered in the mole sauce of your choice, in which I chose the cilantro & pumpkin flavors, then sprinkled with way too much toasted sesame seeds that made the taste even worse for me. Unfortunately, everything was just so bland and lacked any form of cheese. I’d take cheese over mole any day. The single tostada ended up being my favorite due to its crunchy texture. The tacos were my second fave. The enchiladas & sopes were so blah. I drizzled some of the house salsa on everything to give it life, which helped. Chicken Leg & Thigh — My spouse’s dish. The chicken was super tender and cooked perfect, then topped with chocolate mole. He absolutely loved it, but I would’ve chosen a different mole sauce as I just don’t care for the chocolate flavor. It came with a puddle of refried beans and small serving of yellow rice. SERVICE: Our male server was awesome. He was so helpful, welcoming, and checked on us often. He even brought out a sample of the 3 different moles for us to try. Even the female that was toasting the tortillas was so sweet, and checked on us. Excellent! OVERALL: Even though I didn’t care for my dish, I have to give them a 4 star rating due to authenticity, terrific service, and delish lentil soup. I’d definitely go back to try other dishes. Very affordable.

We’ve visited this nice restaurant on our last few visits to Puerto Vallarta. It’s very tempting to pop into the restaurant since they are constantly making mole in a large bowl at a stand on the sidewalk, and offering samples to passers-by. We tried Mole de Jovita for breakfast on this trip. I love chilaquiles, and I was intrigued by their chilaquiles with mole. They were AMAZING! Their mole is really one of the best I’ve ever tasted. My husband had the omelet de Jovita, which was good, but not as good as mine! We’ve eaten there for lunch and dinner before, and we’ve enjoyed it equally — they have a nice variety of dishes, but obviously you should order mole at a restaurant with«mole» in the name! There is outdoor and indoor seating, the staff are all super friendly, and they have free wi-fi(you just need to ask for the code).

The moles(sauces) are quite popular here and I can see why. Every table gets complimentary chips and 3 types of mole — a green, a brown and a chocolate based(jovita). We liked the green the best. All other items are heavily coated with one of the 3 mole(which you can choose). Portion sizes are pretty big so be mindful about that while ordering. We had a pleasant early dinner here.

Great service! My boyfriend and I sat down for a drink and were treated to samples of all of the mole and salsa. It was the best mole we have had! The staff was wonderful and we loved it! A must visit if you love mole!

Great restaurant, the food, service, and atmosphere! We love mole and try it where ever in the world we can find it served. This place is all about mole and mom’s old recipe. You can mix and match an extensive menu to create a never ending selection of your faves. It’s all very affordably priced, beers approx 1.75USD. I had the chili rellenos and I choose as my filling vegetables and out of the 3 moles I choose the smokey verde. OMG the best meal I have had in mexico, I haven’t cooked myself! My husband had the enchiladas, he choose the chicken pork veggies & curd(mixed) for his filling and the dark brown chocolate mole. That was wonderful as well. Two main dishes with beans and rice, a side tamale with beans, and 5 Corona was approx 450 pesos or approx $ 27USD. We’ll worth every peso! They even had an acoustic guitarist. It’s on a very nice street in a nice part of town with sidewalk seating. You miss out if you walk past this one!

Set across from my hotel is this restaurant, It is on a street with lots of good food and shopping. It is a small restaraunt with tables outside and in, no air-conditioning, and really good food. I had the meal of the day, chicken enchiladas in a chocolate mole sause with a margareta for 140 pesos, It was amazingly good, rich, somewhat sweet, I can’t remember ever eating anything like it. The maragita was small but good. The service was good, the space simple but good, The food is great, I recommend it. In fact I liked it welll enough I went back a second time on my one week trip.

This was our best meal in our week in PV! First they introduce you to their three moles(with chips, of course). You pick the one you want and select what kind of dish you want them to cook with your choice. My partner chose the pumpkin seed mole over chicken enchiladas. I picked the dark chocolate chili over shrimp enchiladas. Of course a margarita works very well as a companion drink! Oh, and it’s very affordable on top of it all.

Hands down the best mole we’ve ever eaten! You get a sampler of three kinds before you order, so you can pick your favorite to pair with your meal. All are excellent but the chocolate mole is truly to die for. The chile relleno stuffed with shrimp is delicious, as are the enchiladas. The margaritas are excellent, made with fresh ingredients. All accompanied by friendly service and a guitarist with a sweet voice who my toddler was enamored by. A simple but pleasant setting indoors, snagging a table on the sidewalk is a plus.

If you love mole, this place should be on your bucket list. They feature three variations– we sampled them all and also had a couple of dishes with various meats. But the mole is why you come to this place(you could put their stuff on a shoe and it’d taste good). You can’t go wrong here. Service was also pretty good.
