Jan 15, 2016. The sink in the men’s bathroom had the water turned OFF. No way for me(ORTHEEMPLOYEES) to wash their hands after using the bathroom. And my wife said that there wasn’t any soap in the woman’s bathroom. Unbelievable. This is how people get sick at restaurants. We paid for our drinks and left before we got our dinner. So sad!

I enjoyed the atmosphere & friendly staff at Margarita Grill. You have to try the Guacamole(made table side), its the best i had in PV. I also recommend the Pina coladas, they taste good and are strong. The best dish i had was the chile relleno :)

We came here for dinner on our very first night in PV. The place was very busy and we were quoted an hour for our food. I wasn’t exactly feeling the place and slightly miffed that they would offer a table without seats to us. However, a nearby table said the food was worth the wait and they had experienced the same thing. The food was not worth the wait. We received complementary salsa prepared table side, which was good. But we ordered guacamole and that was very bland. He ordered the shrimp burrito and although it was huge, it was also bland. I ordered the pork tacos and it was also huge. The live music was a nice touch. Overall, the food was a disappointment and we did not come back.

They say they make table-side fresh guacamole, but that’s a lie! We went here after seeing what appeared to be waiters making table side guacamole, but when we actually ordered our guac, they simply brought out already made guacamole, asked us how much pepper we wanted in it and added the pepper to the guac. We felt cheated. We left after having the one guac appetizer.

I was hesitant to eat here at first, thought it was a bar, but to my surprise the food was delicious. I started by ordering a Michelada(which was great). The waiter made us fresh salsa in a molcahete next to us and added all the ingredients we requested, it came out delicious. I ordered a chicken molcahete and it was so good! It came with chicken in green salsa, chorizo, melted cheese, a chile reyeño and tortillas and it was only 120 pesos! I also ordered chicken wings as a starter and they were probably some of the best wings I have ever tasted. I usually don’t rate places but I had to give them a 5 stars and as a bonus the service was great!

My friends ate here last night and two hours later were in the hospital… shrimp poisoning according to the doctor. Do not eat here!

The service is great and the servers are very attentive. I really liked the way they prepared the salsa infront of you before they brought out the food. The chips that came with the salsa were also freshly made. I ordered the chicken fajitas which were surprisingly cheap(125 I think) and the portions are enough for two to share. The fajitas were OK and reminded me of those at Chillies. I’ll definitely be back to try the molcajete.

Great atmosphere, friendly staff, excellent food and margaritas. I had the tamarind margarita and the machaletes and oh my, it was so good! Go hungry the portion sizes are very large. And they make you your own custom salsa at the table. There was live music. Close to many hotels and shopping, stop by the margarita grill.

We really took to this place. So much so. That we came here more then once on our short stay. The food is great. The service is even better. And the margarita’s are stellar. It made us happy to know that they used local premium tequila. Unlike other establishments that use the cheap stuff. Might have even have to come for a 3rd time before we leave.

love this place! Right on Basilio Badillo, near our hotel. If you order food, they make complimentary roasted tomato salsa, from scratch, right at the table, and it’s delicious! I always order guacamole, also made a su gusto(to your taste) at tableside. Richard can’t handle tomatoes or peppers, but he loves the fish here, and the Caesar salad with grilled chicken. I love the quesadillas and the chiles rellenos. They have spectacular giant sangria, and at night there’s music, currently and excellent guitar duo. One of the musicians plays a pan flute while strumming the guitar! It’s a giant covered patio, with hand-painted décor, and the warm Mexican welcome. A great place to rest and relax and refuel after a hot day of walking around Puerto Vallarta.

I love this place so much! The setting is so great, even though it’s always hot it’s very cool in their out door restaurant. We loved it so much that we are here 3 times!!! The service is slow, it’s Mexico… But every meal we had was made special and the servers were great! Their prices are good too for the quality of food :) Their table side made salsa is so rich! Fish ceviche was a large portion and so fresh Steak fajitas were also great with caramelized onions and peppers, we shared this and still didn’t finish. Now, this may sound odd. But after 4 days of so much Mexican food I needed pasta. Their fettuccine Alfredo was amazing, so flavorful! The cheese sauce was home made and delicious, sprinkled with fresh parm! I wish I could go back to eat here!

We ate here twice during our visit to PV. The first night we all had AMAZING food! Stuffed chicken, fish, steak, chips, everything was great! We ended up coming back on our last night in PV for convenience. I had the pork chops — these were ok but I don’t think I would order this again. Another person had the steak, fish and repeats of the first night. On our way home to LAX on the plane 2 people had SEVERELY upset stomachs(pain, discomfort, diarrhea, etc.) These 2 people happened to eat the salsa at the table while myself and my mother did not. After a few days of stomach pain and discomfort, my boyfriend(and the other person) decided to go to the doctor and he had severe e.coli. I don’t think I’d come back here after that.

Been here twice now– in two days. That’s saying something! Piña coladas are the best; I’m not a margarita lover. The chips, fresh salsa, and mashed right at your table guacamole are wonderous. Chips could be fresher. The molcajete was great and definitely enough for two diners. I would stay away from the ceviche– hubby got sick. But we will go back for the drinks and service. This restaurant really cares!

Went to this place based on others reviews. Table side quac and salsa pretty good, definitely enjoying to watch them prepare it for you. Had the molcajete and also carne asada. Hubby enjoyed the seafood molcajete very much. Said the octopus was the most tender he’s ever had. On the bad side, service was very slow. I don’t expect to be rushed thru my meal, but we spent two hours on dinner. Too much time in my opinion. And the stray cats are there. We heard the back story of the history in the downtown area of all the homeless cats everywhere, so of course this being an open air restaurant, there were cats everywhere begging for food. But overall, enjoyed the food, hubby and I had no alcohol as we had been drinking all day, and our bill came to $ 565 pesos. Pretty great for dinner out.

I found this place through an online blog and being a big eater and seafood lover I am, I dragged my hubby to dine here during a hot day in PV. We shared a large size mango margarita(we’re not big drinkers) that was very refreshing to cool off from the heat! nice big size and pretty cheap actually. I think it was like 90 pesos or something like that! We shared an order of SEAFOOD Molcajete that came with a small crab, fish fillets, scallops(tiny ones!), shrimp, octopus, and chilli releno! The dish was HUGE enough for two big stomach to share or up to 3 – 4 small stomach to share! We also ordered their table-side freshly made guacamole+salsa+chips…It was fun to see them making the guac and salsa :) The salsa was our favorite as they broiled the tomatoes and it was juicy sweet yumm yummm! The guac was good but not the best guac I’ve had! We were stuffed! so full that we almost didn’t finish our molcajete… weird for us the plate cleaner! Molcajete was a fun experience but flavor wise. perhaps not very mind blowing for us. It was fun to eat lots of seafood though. The scallops were small and didn’t taste very fresh though. Service was stellar, super friendly. they kept refilling our water, sweettttt!!! We spent 450 pesos for our meal(before tips). pretty good deal for american standard for the amount of food that we got!!!

Margarita Grill, your margarita’s are so undercover, even a non drinker like me was not able to taste the tequila. Had a great experience at this local joint, besides the vomiting afterwards, the food was wonderful. Love the table side made guacamole and salsa, the molcajete, and corn cheese we’re all delicious. The severs were funny, playful and down to drink. Overall, great experience with live music.

I really wanted to ignore this gringo-looking massive tiki bar on the corner of the street, but the sign said Best Margaritas In Town and so we surrendered. It was our fifth day in Puerto Vallarta, and they definitely made the best margaritas. They only used fresh, ripe mangos for mine and I could barely taste the tequila but it was STRONG. The servers and bartenders were friendly and easy to chat with, the place filled up quickly and we ended up ordering food. We were overwhelmed by how big their portions were, but my fajitas were sizzling hot and delicious! We also ordered guac and chips, and they make the guac in front of you which is something they are known for I guess. Overall, my friend and I had a great time here and would for sure come back again! Oh, they also had a band playing live music as well!

This is a surprisingly busy restaurant considering the quality of service and food. but I’m getting ahead of myself. Our group of five was quickly seated on a Saturday night. The first hint of trouble was how long it took to get drinks. Two margaritas, a tequila sunrise and two beers took half an hour. Placing our orders took the same amount of time. Due to my diet restrictions, I peppered the waiter with questions and got a lot of hand waving. Now, the good news for celiacs is Puerto Vallarta is pretty awesome. Very little wheat is used anywhere. When it’s corn — it’s only corn. If it’s mixed, they’ll tell you straight up and suggest options. I had no issues at all this trip. Instead of checking, the waiter just handwaved it. So, I ordered the carne asada and specified how I wanted it done. What I got was shoe leather — really chewy shoe leather I ate about a 1⁄3 and stuck to the margaritas. Nobody in our group ordered dessert. At the end, we found our 15% discount was not included in our check(we were part of a large group in PV for the week). Throughout the meal, the musicians insisted on belting out bad covers of pop songs using the Pan Flute at a completely unnecessary volume. Having to shout at your dinner companion ruins a meal, even if it’s not a very good one to begin with. There are many better options in the Zona Romantica.

We enjoyed our first meal of our vacation here at Margarita grill. I had the Mix Mojecahete: chicken, steak and huge shrimp with green sauce. Sooo good and huge portion(leftovers on the patio the next day). They do fresh made guacamole and salsa at your table, so yummy. Tamarind Margareta was excellent as well. They have a fantastic outdoor dinning room and live(but not too loud) music going all night. Totally recommend it. If it weren’t for the fact that we try not to go to the same restaurant 2x in the same trip I would have gone back again.

My favorite place in PV. The margaritas are the only ones in town that are made with fresh fruit, and yes, they are large! The food is great. The waiters make fresh salsa at your table with fresh grilled tomatoes! Definitely on the list for my next visit. The seating is comfortable, outdoors, with a breeze. Is it a «tourist trap?» The whole of PV is, why would you go to a resort town if you don’t want the«tourist stuff.»
