Go here. Fantastic coffee, both hot and iced. The iced is made with frozen coffee instead of ice cubes so it never gets watered down. Great wifi speed, even better than the hotel. Will definitely be back for the rest of our stay probably at least once a day! Also side note, no straws — this is part of their eco side.

My favorite place. I got the little girl breakfast and it was perfect. Their silver dollar pancakes are delicious. They have a great selection of food and coffees. This is not on the ocean but in the center of the town but it was still really relaxing. We sat outside and people watched as we enjoyed our food. The staff was very friendly.

Incredible menu. I was able to get a gluten dairy etc. Free meal. Coming back for the name sake.

I have flashbacks of Bluth bananas on Balboa Island in California by eating here. The frozen bananas covered in chocolate and nuts are tasty and easy refreshment during a hot afternoon. Inexpensive too. The staff is friendly, and they offer quite a bit more food and drink, though we just stopped by for snacks.

There were 9 of us for breakfast and we were seated together. They had great smoothies and coffee frappes made with coffee ice cubes. We ordered carrot cake, banana bread, ginger cookies and coffee cake to start with to share. All were excellent except the coffee cake was a little dry. I and several others had the«Little Girl Breakfast», which was one egg, sausage, bacon and two dollar pancakes and a small cup of fresh fruit. Perfect for me. They had a mango preserve which I preferred to the syrup for the pancakes. Others had chiliquilies, french toast made with french toast pudding, and various omlettes. Everyone raved about their food. Looking forward to returning when I am next here. Service was good.

Inexpensive and the food was good, but the waiter(like every waiter we’ve come across here) seemed exasperated that we were breathing his air. Also, the«mocha» here is ice coffee with chocolate syrup in it. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t what an American might expect. They do use coffee cubes in place of regular ice, though, which were a nice touch. The food was well prepared and the atmosphere was nice under the awning outside. Would have given five stars if the service wasn’t so bad.

The Chocobanana’s w/coconut are amazing and almost worth the trip to Mexico on their own. Don’t miss out on these if you get the opportunity!

My first wife and I almost bought this place in 2006 for a whopping $ 55,000(!!!), clearly worth a few hundred k now. I was so happy to find that in the last ten years, much like my favorite town of Sayulita itself, it has just gotten better. The service is some of the best in town, and they turn over tables amazingly fast in a country renowned for slow service. It is a well oiled machine, and still features the best breakfasts and coffee drinks in Sayulita. My girlfriend and I fell in love with frozen banana mochas in Nicaragua a couple months ago, and were thrilled to find them here now as well, and they are even better! Mexican or American breakfasts, you can’t go wrong. I doubt Tracy would have sold the place anyway, though her Mom seemed to want to, as it appears she still owns it. Kudos to her.

we avoided this place because it looked too«white/touristy» but after a week of tacos-everything diet our bodies were only craving bacon. food was good, iced-americano was ok(coffee ice-cubes were cool), wifi connection was great, service was fast! Bees were everywhere and our neighboring table had a killing bee competition :(

So, we were told by many people to visit Sayulita. It’s about 25 miles from Puerto Vallarta and worth the drive. It suppose to have this mix of hippies and tourists. So we drove in the afternoon, it wasn’t hard to navigate, I had that garmin gps with North America maps, I am glad I did. So the first stop in Sayulita was Chocobanana. It was a nice place, very conveniently located in the center of the town. The service was excellent. We need a coffee, tried their Americano & off course the Chicobanana(see pic). It was an excellent choice, a lite coffee and a snack before dinner on the beach(see other reviews from Sayulita):)

Great food, great service! I highly recommend to Sayulita tourists. Make sure to stop in for coffee, a freshly baked muffin or their famous Chocobanana!

Solid breakfast option. Came back twice. Their cappuccinos and almond lattes are actually really good. We ordered the Mexican breakfast(two eggs with beans and tortillas), their huevos rancheros(not what we expected — the meat was just luncheon ham slices), and the veggie omelet. The food is decent and inexpensive(200 – 250 pesos for two people).

If you’re old and white, and happy with Mexican day at the senior center, you’ll love this place! Otherwise boring, bland, and just not good. Ok, probably great for kids as well… If you care about flavor though — try somewhere else

The primary reason we stopped in at Chocobanana was for the wifi, to be perfectly honest. The place stayed had already mentioned that it had«great gringo breakfast,» and that wasn’t really what we wanted out of our vacation! Prior to eating in we’d grabbed a smoothie to go for the beach. The service was ok, and the smoothie wasn’t bad but a little generic banana-strawberry flavoured for having so many interesting fruits in it. Eating in was fine. The service was ok, definitely hurried with a get-in-and-get-out vibe. I was nibblish so grabbed their breakfast burrito while Boyfriend got a coffee. The ham breakfast burrito was ok — the flour tortilla tasted a bit dry and the ham was thick cut and somewhat fatty. It came with three different salsas which I liked as it gave it a bit more interest and oomph! The wifi signal was strong and allowed us to let family and friends know we’d arrived safe. I can see that if you were homesick for American food this would be a great place to come, but as someone who wanted all of the Mexican food all of the time this wasn’t a total hit for me!

I’ve just picked up muffins from the to-go window, while my wife got coffee and juice. She was happy with her drinks. I however, was a little disappointed with the muffins. The first one I got, blueberry, might have been right out of the oven. It was very hot. Normally, I would think that this would be a great trait for a baked good, but it was a little undercooked in the middle… The next time, I tried a chocolate chip muffin(not hot this time. Unfortunately, it kinda tasted like a banana muffin base. I’m not sure if this was intended or not, but I was not pleasantly surprised.

Chocobanana is a great breakfast spot right in the middle of town. We went twice during our 5 day stay and had a great experience both days. It is one of the more tourist-friendly places. Their full menu is written in both Spanish and English, most of their staff speaks quite a bit of English so you can order that way and they take American credit cards! The coffee is delicious! And it is served with steamed milk, yummy. They also have smoothie and juice options. I ordered the breakfast burritos with chorizo and breakfast potatoes the first morning and the banana nut pancakes with bacon the second. Both were great, I’ll be dreaming about those pancakes well after I get back from vacation. There are several street vendors that sit outside of the restaurant selling beaded work. If there is a wait it is cool to check out while you wait for your table. Chocobanana is a great add to your Sayulita trip.

With a menu that includes items for even the pickiest of eaters, ChocoBanana is a breakmust while in Sayulita. Sitting in a prime location on the plaza, you can’t miss it and a lazy breakfast here quickly becomes a daily ritual. The menu is massive and caters to vegans, celiacs and vegos. Some favorites from our recent trip were the Plato Do Pancho(chilaquiles, refried beans and scrambled eggs), the Breakfast Bowl(3 scrambled eggs, potatoes, onions, chorizo, peppers, topped with ranchero sauce and cheese), the French Toast, and anything(read: everything) from the daily home-baked basket. But you know, you can always get the fruit and yogurt plate… Beyond their namesake frozen chocolate-dipped bananas, other amazing things you’ll find here are free wifi, freshly ground coffee beans, credit card acceptance, and coffee ice cubes.
