Stumbled upon this little place. there are maybe 7 tables out front of this place. It’s nothing to look at, but they have the menu posted on a podium out front and it’s a very large menu. There isn’t any pressure sales to come in. Plastic tables and chairs with an inexpensive table cloth. There is nothing flashy about this place. Our server was gracious enough to speak enough english so that we didn’t have any issues. The menu is all in spanish. We ordered an chicken enchilada mole and a garlic grilled shrimp plate. We were given some chips and salsa(both red and green) Both were excellent and salsa, as we were warned that it had some heat to it. Both meals came out quickly and were both delish !!! The kitchen is wide open and you can see pretty much the entire kitchen. Hence when I say that this place looks like it’s family run, you can literally see the entire family working in the restaurant. It looks like Mamma is in the kitchen and the rest of the family runs the rest. Our two meals, with guacamole, a beer and a water came to 280 pesos. Honestly a bargain for the freshness and flavor of the food ! Earlier in the week we had been to Don Cafote, and I actually had a dish with mole, and the mole at Antojitos was much better.

Excellent guacamole, we were looking for somewhere out of the rain where we could get some cervezas and use a baño, very glad we felt a little snackish.

Had breakfast here with a group of friends this morning! Ricardo was our server and he was friendly, helpful, and attentive. The corn tortillas were delicious and fresh. We ordered a breakfast that Ricardo recommended and I wish I could remember what it was because it was great! Overall a really pleasant experience and I would go back.

Another sweet little eatery in downtown Tulum. Run by a hardworking family — they excel in breakfast menu. Half a block away from the town center square, this place is no frills and very down to earth. Their menu is pretty extensive. A lot of options to choose for different tastes. You can see the kitchen from the open dining area. Very clean set up. They make everything fresh. I hadn’t tried chilaquielas before and heard great things about it. So glad I got to try it here. I chose chicken as my protein and the red sauce. Totally spot on. The dish itself is pretty bland. So I had to get my share of super hot green and orange habanero sauces to make my lunch super hot. That did the trick. And then there is always the good old and very cold glass of Horchata. A perfect complement to a very fulfilling hot meal. At this point I feel I grown a 2nd stomach to compartmentalize all the good food I have had in this very quaint little town. One more meal to go before taking off tomorrow — back to the madness of grind and more grind. Do give this place a shot. It does not disappoint. Another addition to the list of many amazing places to eat at in downtown Tulum. So good!
