Waffles ! What a genius invention. Nice price $ 8. Good selection of toppings with photos, I had the pistachio one –yumm . I love how the topping/sauce sinks into the grid shape on the waffle. Wishing it had been a nicer night, felt like zero degrees positively arctic ! Then I could’ve sat down instead of standing and scarfing it down . Good place for kids and a quick bite . That is all.

It’s already in the name, the waffles are supreme! I love the pistachio one! First time I went I kept staring for the menu for so long. So many options and all of them look so delicious! I also had the lumber man(amazing!!!) and the petit liege waffles. The prices are really fair! Still want to try a savoury waffle, it seems really yummy.

Thanks to Unilocal,I got to have a taste of the amazing Gingerkiss waffle and Lumber man waffle. The waffles are made on the spot so it’s fresh out of the waffle presser, and they have their own ‘secret ingredients’. The taste of these waffles is definitely something different, and worth trying. The only thing I would mention is that there are no tables to sit at and munch on so you’ll need to sit on the nearby public benches, and the price is a wee bit high to have regularly.($ 8 a waffle)

It’s hard to miss — the distinctive red container stall, and you can most definitely smell the waffle goodness from the other side of the street. Elliot street is becoming quite cute with the lineup of street vendors along the paved road shared between cars and pedestrians. What’s special about these waffles? — More dense and thick. The waffle is made from brioche dough rather than batter, the latter being the American adaptation of the original Belgium Liege waffles. — Caramelised and chewy. The key ingredient is pearl sugar. As the waffle cooks, the sugar melts and caramelises into a crisp golden and chewy waffle. You can order these as itself $ 4, with chocolate drizzled on top +$ 2-$ 4, or choose from one of the 5 topping options $ 8. I’ve never been someone who can make quick snappy decisions when ordering food and this was one of those times while standing in the rain that I wish I was one. We were given the Speculaas biscuit spread to try and that won me over. It’s like wine biscuits smoothly blended into a thick spread but sweeter and tastier. Inspired by the ginger kisses that you can buy at supermarkets, the Ginger Kiss has the Speculaas biscuit spread, cream cheese and the Chelsea golden syrup on top. I’m all about mixing sweet and savory tastes. While the spread made the topping texture seem drier like peanut butter does to bread, the overall result with the cream cheese was rich and delicious. The other waffle of choice was The Communion because of the intriguing name. It consists of mascarpone, orange blossom honey and a red wine syrup with a touch of spice. As it turns out, it’s a reference to the monks that invented waffles(descended from communion wafers), and some of the other jobs monks went about making back in the old days such as bee keeping, cheese making and serving mulled wine. This waffle was sweeter and the blend of toppings was slathered into the waffle indentations generously. At the moment, Waffle Supreme opens until 7pm but it’s perfect to grab as a snack as you pass by the city or as a breakfast treat. I’d love to come back to try the waffle on its own or with the other tempting topping options!

I don’t know about you, but I absolutely love waffles. So much, I would not only eat them for breakfast, but also make them for strangers at 2am in the morning! What I love about waffles is that there are many variations on how to make them. I usually like mine crisp on the outside and chewy in the middle. Add grilled banana, maple syrup, whipped cream and hazelnut spread and you have yourself one delicious breakfast! So when I heard that a new waffle pop up truck had just opened up on Elliot Street in Auckland CBD, I was very excited. Waffle Supreme is owned and operated by Andrew Graham, a superyacht chef who has just returned from overseas. When he was young, he came across the ‘Liège waffle’ while in France. Made from a brioche batter and caramelised with Belgian Pearl sugar, these waffles look and sound delicious. A Liège waffle from Waffle Supreme costs $ 4 and is best eaten on its own, however you can opt to have hot chocolate sauce on top($ 2 extra) to add some extra sweetness. Also served are traditional ‘Brussels waffles’, which are made with buttermilk. These are priced at $ 8 and accompanied with a variety of delicious toppings, such as cream cheese, golden syrup and a Dutch biscuit spread, known as ‘Ginger Kiss’ or maple custard with walnuts, known as ‘The Lumber Man’. If you prefer savoury to sweet, then don’t fear, an option to have a ‘Brussels waffle’ topped with a fried egg and streaky bacon will hit the spot! My sister and I ventured into town last Sunday afternoon for lunch. I ordered ‘The Lumber Man’ waffle, which was sweet and delicious. The maple custard was perfect. My sister opted for the savoury waffle with a fried egg and streaky bacon. She loved it! Luckily, I got to try some — heaven in your mouth! The waffles themselves were crispy, but chewy in the middle — just how they should be! I really enjoyed Waffle Supreme because it is unlike any other place in Auckland. It is a unique concept and the owner is friendly and passionate about his waffles. Also, where else can you get ‘Liège’ or ‘Brussels’ waffles in Auckland!!! Waffle Supreme is open 7 days and serves Eightthirty coffee, which makes it the perfect place to go to for an after dinner treat!
