The beachside replaced my beloved Patio in location but alas did not replace it in value for money or taste. The décor hasn’t overly changed, light and friendly with glass on two sides, candles at the table are a nice touch. We were seated and the wait staff were friendly and nice. I ordered a steak(after debating the fish) and my wife ordered a small ribs platter. Ribs are not hard to make, but there are methods to making good ribs, one of the major ones is to remove the membrane which creates a hard tough chewy layer around the ribs. The Beachside grill had not done so. The ribs were correspondingly chewy and rubbery, and the sauce did not permeate the meat. it was a painted on, quickly heated ribs experience and was disappointing to say the least. The steak was good, not great but good, with a nice arrangement of sides that quite frankly, could have been a lot better given the cost of the meal. When we were finished, we mentioned the disappointing nature of the ribs and were told that ‘Oh yeah sometimes they are like that’, which is not the hallmark of an establishment that wants to improve. We didn’t send them back(although it was borderline) but I would have expected a little more listening and a little less dismissive.
