Bought the GrabOne deal and went in and got the meat platter Customer Service: 2⁄5 Waiters were nice but service was extremely slow. We had call the waiters several times. The chicken we ordered was still raw, the waiter replaced it but they took our cutlery and never returned it until the chicken was served again. Food: 1⁄5 Chorizo was definitely bought from supermarket, meatball was dry, Chicken was raw, beef was ok. Dessert were better but hmmm. Ordered two tapas, the calamari was old and tasteless, the garlic prawns were extremely salty. Environment: 4⁄5 nicely decorated, good ambiance but won’t be going back again

Customer service: 0⁄5 Food: 2⁄5 Price: 2⁄5 Environment: 4⁄5 Horrible horrible place. We will never go back and don’t want anyone get this bad dinning experience. We arrived at this place and only 2 tables had people.(2 people in each table). The waitress asked us «do you have booking» We said no. She said«do you have voucher? We can’t accept voucher now.» We said no! Really?! Firstly, there is no one here, so many tables are empty. I don’t think you need ask whether we have booking or not. And it is a bit rude to ask if we have voucher. The food took forever. We asked the same waitress how much longer. We have been waiting for 30 mins. She said«we have other customers.» OMG, really?! She didn’t even apologies to us for the long wait. 2 people were already eating. And the other 2 have finished their meal and gone. Who were the other customers??? Ghosts ??? Extremely bad customer services. The food finally arrived, not impressed. So dry and needed some sauces. The price was not matching the value that we were getting. Don’t even mention the service. Please consider before you go.

We had a grab one voucher and it was clear right away that we were a 2nd class customer. The first time we tried to eat here they said they weren’t taking anymore tables even thought the restaurant was half empty and it was only a bit after 7. The second time the service was poor. The food was acceptable, but only just.

Unfortunately I have to give it a score if 2 out of 5. I was really looking forward to try this place because I have heard good things about it. The evening started on a high note with my main being pretty good — I ordered the baked chicken with mozzarella. However the wait for the dessert was atrocious… From when we finished eating till someone collected our plates. And when the dessert was placed in front of us. Was probably 1hr 15mins. I had to remind the waitress we were still waiting. Sad to say the desserts were not worth 1hr and 15mins wait…

Went here for a company meal with the office. They insisted we provide a list of mains the day before which was reasonable for 15+ people. Food was served one batch at a time and took nearly 2 hours to bring everyone’s main out. Meals were subpar and not worth the wait. Beer was good cause it came out of a bottle. Would get takeaways for my nemesis tho so it’s got that going for it

Both times I have been to Limon I have been plesantly surprised by the food. It’s not that I didn’t expect good food, but the value for what you get here is really refreshing. On our last visit we did one of the shared tapas platters. Such a great variety of treats, each of them unique and every single one tasty. I was really impressed with the portion size too. There are notes on the menu that say the tapas are«larger than usual» or something to that affect, and it’s definitely true. They have a nice variety of wine at different price points as well, and a good sangria. This seems like a really great place to bring a group so you can have the proper tapas experience and share plates. Nobody will go hungry here. The mains look really tempting too, but we filled up on so many small plates we didn’t make it that far, maybe next time!

HOLYSUGARHONEYICEDTEA. How was this restaurant right across from my hotel and NOONE said anything about it? So you all can also experience the deliciousness that is Limon, it’s at Shed 23, facing the water, near Buffalo(if you see Buffalo, you’re on the right track). I was looking for something new(as my Thai food places are a bit of a walk) and came across this gem. I ordered the oven-roasted chicken stuffed with mozzarella and wrapped in prosciutto with wilted spinach. The waiter warned me that it would take a while, maybe 15 minutes. It was the best 15 minutes of suspense ever. There in front of me was a full chicken breast sliced an inch wide so that you could see the melted mozzarella slowly making its way out of its chicken encasement. The chicken itself was a nice golden/brown, crispy enough on the outside due to the prosciutto wrapping it. First bite: Phenomenal. Second bite: Well worth a 15 minute wait. Third bite: Whoa there, this is disappearing too fast. Now it’s gone and I am awaiting Limon’s special stuffed date and apple pudding. And OMGIT’S HERE. About four inches /10 cm across, it sits innocently surrounded by caramel and chocolate sugar, balancing a scoop of ice cream on top. It’s hot, it’s cold, it’s friggin’ delish, annnd it’s gone. Will return because there’s this beef dish that turned my head…

We are visiting from Canada and my sister invited me in Limon for a lunch on a sunny day. Very very god food and large portions, tasty and well presented. I had a beed cheek amazingly tender, great chowder, perfect lamb shank, and a panacotta For desert was ok. The service was below average and it takes long time to get the meal and not in the same time. The waitress definitely had a bad hair day according to my sister! From me I would have told her, the god food overshadowed the lousy service.

Got a gift for a platter for 4 and 2 beers. Great food we ordered a bit more to share had a table of 7. Staff — room for improvement. Nice people just weren’t really selling products(beers) etc and a lil slow.

I wasn’t expecting much from Limon, but went along as had been summoned to a friend’s birthday party. I was surprised to find it was Spanish(who knew?), pretty darned good value by viaduct standards and with tasty food, friendly service and a live flamenco(maybe?) guitarist playing for some authentic culture to boot. I went for three tapas at $ 29.50, which was a lot of food for the money. I couldn’t finish it all. Five tapas between two people for $ 48 would be plenty of food and a good deal for a waterfront meal. Given it has the feel of a group dinner restaurant, well to me anyway, I would say a BYO option would make this place more attractive. Still, they’ve got to make their money somehow!

A really classy fit out and design, and not in a pretentious way, attracted me to Limon over some of the ‘swankier’ alternatives adjacent. Wicker chairs outside, with red and white fabric overlooking the water makes you feel like you could be in Barcelona. A short walk from the noise of Quay street means the atmosphere is as tranquil as Limon will have you believe on their website. (Very) large Tapas dishes were welcomed by my famished stomach. My benchmark Spanish favourites were on the menu and while the Spanish Tomato bread really didn’t need the Feta, the Patatas Bravas were excelente. All in all I found this was a really relaxing location to lunch, drink and take some time out of my day. Sometimes taking time out feels like a waste, but I felt my visit to Limon enhanced my week.

The restaurants of Princes Wharf seem to get a little overlooked these days as the crowds go to the more newly developed spots nearby like Wynyard Quarter and the Britomart Precinct. Still, Princes has a few decent eats to offer, and Limon is certainly among those. It’s about halfway up the wharf on the west side, and can be spotted by its distinctive red awnings. It’s all about Mediterranean/Spanish cuisine so that means lots of tapas-style dishes on offer, as well as some heartier stuff. First time here I booked it out for my partner’s birthday and we found the atmosphere nice and cosy, the service pretty good, and the food decent for the price. I had a lamb chop dish which was tasty but perhaps a little light portion-wise. Second time a group of mates came on a GrabOne deal which offered a seafood platter and wine for a pretty good price — fun times! Finally, the Spanish vibe really adds something — there’s often live music, and they do tango nights — so come ready to move!

Viaduct Spanish Cuisine — Limon For authentic, mediterranean cuisine — go to Limon. On a windy night the last place you want to go is the viaduct! I did however have a birthday party to attend. The restaurant was typically Spanish with wooden furniture and bull fighting paraphanalia. The food was amazing. Sometimes they have live music. My friend and I had Scotch fillet medium rare at $ 32 which was delicious as was the wine. We both rated this as great value. Service could be slightly quicker. Ideal for a larger crowd. Equally nice for a group of friends grabbing tapas together. Serves breakfast too which is surprising for this type of restaurant.
