Gorgeous local café which I hadn’t been to in years, but really pleased to have rediscovered. When I arrived on a Friday morning at 8am I was the only other customer seated in the cozy café. Within 20 minutes(and after my first delicious coffee) the café was filled with a walking group of 8 ladies(who sat in the exterior courtyard), a group of 6 businessmen, and two other couples. It was quite packed(keeping in mind it’s only little)! It has a small breakfast menu but definitely something for everyone. I enjoyed toasted brioche with fresh home made lemon curd and thick Greek yoghurt. Yum! They have a vast cabinet selection including quiches, shepherds pie, classic pies, and other tasty morsels. The blackboard menu also included what sounded like yummy dishes that I will be making a return trip very soon to try. Food was a little slow but overall a great café with good service, lovely selection of food, and delicious coffee.

We stopped here on a Saturday for brunch to try their crepes and galettes that are served on the weekends. I ended up ordering the herb omlette which was really tasty, as well as nice and lite so I still had room to split a crêpe. :) My husband had a galette that was really delicious as well. Also, this was some of the better coffee we’ve had since we’ve been here. All that combined make this café a really ideal brunch spot. It wasn’t hard to get a table either. Even after we had eaten we still spent some time eyeing all the treats in the case. We will definitely be back!

I always drive past Brighton road and admire how quaint looking it is. It is a rather petite looking café that must have once been a small cottage, and someones home. We also do quite a bit of business with them through my work so we decided to pop in for a quick lunch today. The café offers a range of cabinet food and also meals available to order. The variety is quite large, ranging from quiches, fish cakes, Mexican plates to roast vege salad. I chose the Welsh Rarebit which came with a poached egg and herb salad. It was alright, they had over done the Worcestershire sauce which had caused the bread to go soggy. This is one of fav dishes so i am always inclined to get it when i see it, sadly this one didn’t live up to my expectation. My friend had the roast vege salad which looked pretty yummy. The café was packed which was lovely to see, it did however make moving around quite tricky. The courtyard outside was so sunny and looked very relaxing. We did have to wait about 15 – 20 minutes for our food which was quite a while considering how simple our meals were to prepare. The staff at Brighton rd café are friendly, i believe it is a family owned and run business which is always cool to see. I think it has huge potential but just needs a very small tweeeks. One major plus point is they do serve Kokako coffee so i will definitely stop past again if im in the area and they did do a jolly good piece of rocky road! Cheers
