First time tonight and it was lovely. Just the atmosphere I needed after a long day at work. They were showing the Warriors game which was good. Bartender/​manager let my friend and I buy pizza from across the road to have w our drinks because their kitchen was closed so that was very nice of him to do. Place is nice and cute, good place for a catch up w friends and socialise w the locals. Would definitely visit again :)

I really like this bar. Unlike the Union Post it does not try to deafen you with dance music and it is nicely lit compared to the darkness of Doolin Brothers around the corner.
The real winner for this bar is the cute outdoor area out the back. It has fairy lights (Who doesn’t love those!), and the music level is perfect for chatting with friends.
We went here on a Friday night and it was very quite. I’m not sure that it ever gets super busy because Iv only ever seen a handful of people here. Don’t take this as a bad sign though! It is definitely worth a visit. They do cocktails and alcoholic milkshakes! Interesting concept but I haven’t tried one

Great little bar in Ellerslie if you are looking for something with good atmosphere but a bit less busy and ‘pubby’ from The Post across the road.

What a deceptive little place, this Charlie Baxters! A feely new addition to Ellerslie township I walked passed not thinking much was going on inside. One Friday evening I ventured in and what a surprise, there’s a hidden back area. How very cheeky. It’s a very nice hidden area too, all nice new (made to look old) wood and plenty of tables. It had a nice Friday night vibe, probably helped along by the blue sky and peeks of sunlight coming in the garden area. We shared a bottle of wine ($ 30) and an assortment of bar type food. It was all very nice and set us up well for the evening ahead. I will certainly be going back

This bar in ellerslie holds a lot of charm and is very cute. It has a deceptive size, appearing quite little from the outside but walk through the bar and you come to an great outdoor area with both shaded and sunny areas. The fence is covered in wee little potted plants which add a lovely touch to the décor. Inside has a nice cosy atmosphere as wherever you sit, while you have enough space at your table, you arent squished in-​between heaps of tables. The drinks list is nice and I was able to enjoy a tasty new Zealand rose, though I feel the tide was out a bit when it came to the glass pour. My friends had apple ciders which looked reasonable and shared a bowl of fries. Thoroughly recommend this bar for an after work drink with whoever.
