Dish was perfect and the starter bread is one of the best I have ever had in Auckland. Waiting time was bit disappointing, took us more than an hour to have our main.

The manager is one of the most competent I have seen in the hospo industry. The food is lovely, the atmosphere is top notch and if you’re lucky you can have a wine or two with the owner who is also lovely.

Came here with workmates with no expectations. We are all really impressed. The atmosphere is nice, the menu has an impressive range from venison /duck /pork belly to fish & chips and everything in between. I felt it was slightly on the pricey side, but none of us were disappointed with our meal. The location right on Great South Road is a mixed blessing as you do get some road noise, but on the flip side there is not much choice for this type of restaurant in this area so it is great to find a restaurant /bar of this standard in this part of Greenlane. We will all be back.

I used to live around the corner from the Abbey and we used to pop around there quite frequently for date night. It was a good date night destination for a number of reasons. We could walk home after a few wines(given). It’s a little bit posh and has a sense of occasion about it. The interior is lovely and the dining area has one large wine cellar wall. The food is high quality, and although the price reflects this, we always walked away satisfied. The pork belly is delicious, so too is the desert menu. They also change up their menu pretty frequently which is good for us regulars. The wine list is extensive(hence the cellar) and although quite pricey, it doesn’t matter — it’s date night after all

Not a bad little to place to hang out this, although it is kind of in the middle of nowhere on Great South Rd. It would be perfect for after work drinks if you worked around here. One advantage that it does have being in this location is that it seems to be the only pub in the area, so not much competition. It’s large inside, and a pretty chilled out environment for a few quiet drinks. It’s quite a posh place, and the food reflects the poshness as the meals are fairly expensive. However, the drinks are reasonably priced. I haven’t been here when it’s busy, so I’m not sure if it does get super busy.
