Cima used to be my go to place for lunch when I was working on Queen St. It has somehow maintained its quality through the years. The coffee is still great, it’s not the best but better than most within a walking distance. The carrot cake is nice and moist, with loads of walnuts and pineapple piece. All in all, Cima is still a good place to get a coffee. And with the extensive outdoor seating, the smokers will rejoice.

Came here yesterday for my graduation lunch with the girls as one of them was a regular when working along High Street. Really good cause it has upstairs indoor seating as well as outdoor seating by the street. Shared 3 of their fruit smoothies– all really tasty and had the seafood chowder, fries with aioli, carbonara and gnocchi dish. Was delicious and can’t wait to come back to try their pizza and calamari!

Cima is one of those places I go to when I don’t feel like jostling with cool people; it’s totally relaxed, no-one gives you any attitude apart from the«welcome to our café» attitude(nice one), and you can totally order something comfort-food like without some foody hipster sneering at you. There’s lot of places to sit here: you can watch the parade of High Street from the footpath, or you can hide away upstairs with a mag from their well stocked rack, or you can just hang out downstairs in easy reach of the well stocked cabinet. I’ve also had a few meetings here with 6 or 7 people, and it’s a good place for that(outside of the lunch period, obviously) and the staff helpfully came and took orders and provided a good table service.

I quite like Cima. I quite like the fudge they keep at the counter. And I quite like the upstairs/downstairs/outdoors seating options. Although there might not be anything outstanding about Cima, I reckon it’s a quiet achiever as far as CBD cafes go. The service is lovely with exception, the food has never disappointed, and it’s certainly in a convenient spot. Oh gosh and there are the cakes. Cima has a plentiful array of generously-sliced cakes(and cheesecakes, and other tooth-rotting delights) in the cabinet at the counter, and you can match them with a decent coffee too. So all in all, it’s a totally acceptable little lunch and coffee spot.

Just the perfect location on High street a hop, skip and jump from Victoria Street is Cima Café. I remember sipping flat whites and procrastinating over when I should go study a few years back as a student, and I always loved this café for its people watching. Outdoor seats is where you will always find me unless it’s a windy rainy type of day, the staff are friendly and fast with service. Food is up to a good standard, the menu has breakfast, brunch and lunch sorted. I like scrambled eggs, poached eggs, and bagels with salmon at Cima. Music is jiggling in the background, and the coffee machine is always working away busily as it would on such a busy CBD street. You have so much choice in the city, and this café can be overlooked if you’re rushing from point A to point B but is worth a try.
