Since the first glance of Mojo by the waterfront in Wellington, I couldn’t move my mind on this coffee brand. The simple turquoise color, classic coffee cup and last but not least, the perfect cup of coffee that comes to you. No wonder I could be easily caught by this Mojo, even though it hides itself deep in a tiny alley. The familiar color and the distinctive aroma from Mojo roasted coffee beans. Walk in, again it is a simple art work. Long table to share seats, you can find your own place or easily have a chat with friends face to face. The back counter is like a modern refurbished kitchen. Classic bites to go with your coffee such as brownie, scones or, you can just sit back and order a coffee. As for me, always try latte as it is my love. If it comes out with a heated glass, right temperature, correct proportion of espresso and frothy milk, you are blessed. Yes, In Mojo you are mostly blessed by the coffee effect. Enjoy.

Mojo is the perfect name for this little gem, which is tucked away on a little side street in the central city. Mojo is where you go to get back exactly that — your mojo! After and during a busy inner city day, this is a perfect place to refuel over an excellent coffee. The music is cool, the staff are very fast & pleasant in their service, there’s plenty of room and you almost forget how busy the city is outside these bright blue walls. The coffee and food is a little on the expensive side, compared to what I had grown accustomed to in Newmarket atleast, but it’s all worth it and(I believe) ethically sourced. The décor inside is all large, long communal tables and benches — which I really enjoy. It stops the place feeling bitsy and gives an airy feeling to the interior. I think this is about to become my go-to coffee joint

I was in Auckland for a day/night and found out about Mojo from all of you lovely Unilocalers out there :) We stayed the night in the Skycity Grand and walked over to Mojo from there. It was a few blocks away, and some hills worthy of mentioning(especially when you’re pushing a 40-pound, 4-year-old uphill in a stroller), but anyway… ITWASSOWORTHIT! Wow, yum. I’ve had a lot of muesli since moving to New Zealand(it must be on every breakfast menu) and this one eeked it’s way into first place. Really, it was right there at the top(see my picture). The coffees were awesome, though I don’t prefer hot drinks to be served in glasses(‘cuz they get too hot to hold) but I would have happily endured a few minor finger burns to gulp down that caffienated goodness. The only minor issue here was the seating(for us, with 2 kiddos). It’s a lovely, long table through the center of the room(the décor is light and beautiful) but it’s slightly socially awkward when everyone else is sitting at the far other end of the table(presumably, to avoid the kiddos). That said, however, one of the chefs was super nice to us, brought us lots of extra napkins(pre-emptively) and played peek-a-book with my 1-year-old while we ate and kept him occupied in the stroller. A high chair at the end of that beautiful table would surely have ruined the scene(but would have been helpful). In spite of these little things, our overall experience was excellent. Even my husband said so, and that’s saying something :) We will happily come back here every time we are in the area.

Dropped in for a coffee/brekkie with some friends on our way out on a mini road trip. I have to admit I’ve walked by this place a million times, and while the space looks attractive, I assumed mojo was a crappy coffee chain. I’m so happy I finally walked in! It’s a lovely little space on Durham lane that has that Melbourne/London feel. Dark laneway, bright white tiled interior with farmhouse wooden tables. I just had coffee — it was good, and thank god, the flat white was double shot(standard — seriously what’s up with this second shot 50 cents crap lately?!) Cute little Tiffany blue cups, sparkling water available at no cost. They’ve got free wifi. I will be back for a spot to work and hang and check out their menu next time.

I really want to love this place but there were just a few little things. The place– wonderful smell of fresh coffee. Has a gigantic long table in the middle and bar seating on the side. Some outside seating as well. Coffee– unfortunately ran out of their single origin today. I got I guess the house blend? Earthy, smooth, pretty good. Service– The barista is not as knowledgable as some others. I asked if they do pour over or V60, she told me yes but she doesn’t know how. That’s where she left it. I ordered a steampunk. Definitely interesting watching her make it. She didn’t tell me exactly what beans she used. Price– average Auckland price. Others– no internet from Mojo but you can get free internet from the city. Has power outlets.

The short black is really the best. Chocolate taste, strong and exactly what you need to have a break or to wake you up in the morning. Definitely one of the best coffee place in Auckland

A slice of Melbourne and everything a modern café should aspire to be. This offshoot of the Mojo cartel is an airy and pleasant azure coated, tiled and light wooden space along the alleyway that is Durham St East(almost opposite Area 51). It serves a great selection of cabinet muffins, tarts and rolls(ham and cheese, chicken and vegetarian) and light cooked breakfasts(including the weird sounding but delicious peanut butter, tomato and toast!). In addition, you’ll find a selection of raw food delights(yes, I did use that word — me) such as cheesecake and bliss balls, healthy and not so healthy smoothies and of course, fantastic mojo coffee to start or rev up your day. I believe the menu was created in consultation with Martin Bosley, and you can tell it’s been given a fair bit of thought. My new favourite place in town. I shall be back regularly. See you there.

Heads up coffee/food lovers… there’s a new Mojo in town! From their popular Vulcan Lane store, to their large café in Newmarket and now one has just opened on Durham Street! Located just up from Glassons and right next to Renkon, this new café is easy to spot — you won’t miss the bright blue building and outdoor seating. Inside, the décor is light, bright and you can either sit at the very long table in the middle or at the window bar, which would be great for people-watching! Now, onto the food! Couldn’t believe how many options there were! From their breakfast and lunch meals(they cook everything fresh to order), to sweet treats from Amandine, raw cheesecakes from The Raw Kitchen, plus amazing paninis(I like the prosciutto one), sandwiches and muffins etc. And we can’t forget the coffee! I have to be honest, I didn’t actually try one… instead I saw Kombucha(organic probiotic tea) on the menu and had never tried it so I finally did! But if their coffee is as good as their Vulcan Lane store, then I’m sold! Strong, extra hot coffee, just how I like it! If you’re not a coffee lover, they also serve an array of drinks, such as sodas, kombucha(as mentioned above), juices, smoothies(I’ve got my eye on the cacao one) and Hopt soda! So excited to see a café in the CBD selling Hopt — made my day! Overall, had a great time at the new Mojo — now just gotta eat and drink my way through the whole menu!
