Hulucat Tea House

Simply delicious! And so many options, this place is great no matter what your preferred cup of tea.

I came to Auckland to creep on some hot Māori guys with hot bodies (nah not really), look at trees and nature, and eat fresh seafood… but there’s no way I could ever suppress my Asian side. With a stomach that was reserved for dinner, it was either this or gelato.
I was waiting to be called for my table for dinner nearby and I was wandering around the area when I finally stumbled upon this place. Okay, despite their name being super fobby, their menu is like, totally bomb. If you’ve never had any jelly other than lychee and rainbow jelly in your life, this place has a range of jellies that are hard to find: pineapple, green apple, grape, coffee, passion fruit… and lemon pudding? You have no idea – I am a sucker for drink toppings. I wish I could live in this place.
I got a Strawberry Green Tea off their popular drink menu, which was supposed to come with pineapple and lychee jelly. I asked if the grape jelly can be a substitute for those two toppings, and the girl behind the counter acted like she had no idea what I was talking about and charged me extra for that. Besides that, the drink was okay, but the grape jelly was interestingly good. Probably should’ve had black tea for this, but at that point, I wish I got a mix of all the jellies in my drink… which probably would’ve been a disaster. Not terribly expensive, especially for a large size. Definitely a place to keep coming back to if you want to try different drink flavors you can’t find elsewhere!

This place is AMAZING! I can’t get enough of their boba. The Taro Milk Tea with Pearls is my favorite, but I’ve tried many others and they are all wonderful. I highly recommend Hulucat! :)

Absolutely delicious!!! Their drinks are totally amazing. I loved the mocha milk tea with pearls and the mango slushy. They have great slushies. Not too blended so you can taste some small crunchy shards of ice! Totally going back there in summer!

I tried the passion fruit iced tea with boba. Awesome awesome awesome! The shop is very small but has a cool outdoor seating area. I love how I could see the boba being cooked in the pot right behind the counter. The «pearls» were chewy and delicious!!! Also, great prices!!!

Located above the civic by the corner near the bus stops above the civic, Hulucat is a small store with limited seating and lukewarm customer service, but «repents» by serving super yum and affordable bubble tea priced around $ 5 – 6 and toppings (such as a heap of tapioca pearls!) for only $ 1 each.
I ordered Taro Milk Tea with Pearl for my first «test-​run» and boy that went really well. The flavour of the taro was just as I expected with a smooth texture — no weird gritty bits (which happens in poorer quality bubble tea providers) and sweetened nicely, although it may be too sweet for some people, and they serve in quite large servings too (slightly smaller than Starbuck’s venti)
Since the seating there is limited, and the staff there are not very customer-​oriented, I would suggest just having your drink for takeaway and going on a stroll or maybe going to the nearby Albert Park instead, where you can sit and enjoy your day freely.

This is the place for a drink-​to-​go, grab a drink every time i pass by. The drinks are great with good price. Haven’t find any better place around that area.
