Easily one of the best meals I’ve ever had. There wasn’t a single thing about the meal we didn’t like. I’d call the food a mixture of Japanese omakase, western food, and molecular gastronomy. I won’t go into everything, but there were some standouts. Their signature dish, called«Texture», was an interesting mix of vegetables and flavors that came together really well. We had a piece of Wakanui beef that was simply excellent. And the piece of bluenose fish we had was prepared perfectly. Service was also excellent and relatively speedy, and the explanations were particularly helpful. The real kicker, though, was the price. In most other cities we would have paid at least twice what we did at Kazuya. Definitely, definitely worth your time.

amazing experience and food was impressive. must try the sparkling sake! the service was on to it without being over the top. the only annoying thing was the tables were a bit too close and would have preferred more private. we came here for our 5 year anniversary and they made it very special for us!

After seeing some pretty big hype about this place, I was pumped to try this place. From the street the façade is very incognito, the big oversize black swinging door opened to a different world… it didn’t feel like the city end of Eden terrace. but something a little more swish. We were seated in a booth at the back it felt really private and awesome until the couple sat in the opposite booth, were seated… then it became a little like communal experience with adjacent tables. The amuse bouche was perhaps my favorite thing, and Texture the«signature dish» while beautiful, it was just a deconstructed salad and lacking depth. I learned that Sparkling Sake is a real thing and it was yummy like a very light apple soda… Every dish was elegant and beautifully presented, balanced and left little to desire… that said nothing was blow my mind amazing. The Apple dessert had a «pastry ice cream» which was pretty interesting in a good way. And the creamy cheesy cauliflower purée was pretty spectacular especially for what it was, considering it was paired with scallops and prawn. The service was a little over the top and the sommelier/maître d would have been perfect with a fez and a monkey in a matching vest. The heavy Japanese accent which made merengue(music) and meringue(dessert) synonymous was often times more entertaining than confusing… Overall it was whimsical and cute and ideal for a first date, but not really someplace special that I’d make a frequent highlight.

I have never had an experience quite like the one I had at Kazuya. My sweetie and I went for a special occasion, and the hospitality staff at Kazuya made the occasion extremely special. We made bookings in advance, as I’m vegetarian and my partner is vegan, and they were extremely accommodating. Not only did they make us separate menus but we didn’t feel like we were missing out in any way. We weren’t hurried in our meal and we enjoyed every sumptuous delicious bite of our 8 courses. I cant wait for another occasion. Kazuya is a gem.
