Definitely no lemon, this is an old faithful watering hole on Ponsonby Road. The service is great and the music is old school(think Frank Sinatra), so this is more for the mature than the adolescent crowd. The cocktail list is currently being updated, so look out for more interesting offerings soon. In the meantime, they do a great dark and stormy, even when the weather outside isn’t so.

I came late on a Wednesday night, so didn’t experience the crowds that pack in here on the weekends. First thing I noticed was the background music, the kind of tracks you know all the words too, a bit of a blast from the past but in a good way. My cocktail was delicious, just said vodka based and left it up to the barman. Service was friendly, think it’s a good weekday choice.

Not sure what the attitude is about now.. recently went with friends after a meal. Got called over and asked if we were taking something.. Found that offensive. it was 8 at night on a Saturday and no other customers.. Had friend over from aus.. They were shocked as I recommended the bar for good music friendly service and a last drink after dinner before being home by 9pm.. I’d move toward another option that does not have a rude attitude

If you feel like getting back to the old school, and sharing that with LOTS of other people in a confined space, then Lime is the place for you. The tunes are a selection of the best from the last 30 – 40 years or so, so expect more ‘Sweet Caroline’ and less ‘YOLO’. It is a fairly tight squeeze in Lime, so expect to get to know your fellow revelers, as being elbow to elbow with them you can’t really help it. Still, made for a fun night out with some of the older mates, just don’t expect to be able to dance, haha!
