You set your sights pretty low when you’re dining at an airport. I was pretty hungry and definitely didn’t want to risk it and wait to see what the mystery meat was on the plane, so I grabbed a Cesar salad at Macs Down Under. My friend grabbed the burger which was served without chips(strange no?). The food wasn’t too shabby when compared to other airport eateries.

I do not recommend this place at all. The poached eggs were over cooked and the bacon was as hard as rock. When I tried to eat it I became immediately sick a I almost vomited over the table. I felt like I had swallowed gravel.

I came here at about six in the morning so may be why the service I experienced compared to other reviews I read was very good. It was pretty quiet. They had a friendly manner and the order came out shortly after. I ordered one of my favourite,(amongst a few other hot beverages), cappuccino and a Farmers breakfast. This is bacon, venison sausages, potato cake, toast, tomato and eggs done how you like. I chose poached. It was one of the best poached eggs I have had and the whole meal was pretty good. I have eaten the same here before and it was good then so is good to see it has kept the same standard, at least when it comes to this meal. The price is a tiny bit high but I would expect that of a place in the airport. Will have to try one day come here to see how it is at a later time of day. See if the service and food is as good then. All in all I think a good place to grab a bite before going on a flight, to watch the world go by(literally), or wait for someone to come off a flight. This time I had to settle for the latter case… but not too long and I will be experiencing the first.

The staff here are as slow as snails. Don’t visit Mac’s if you are in any type of rush. I asked if their homemade tartare was made from fresh raw egg, after looking at the bottle it comes in the staff concluded nothing here is homemade. We ordered a big breakfast with extra bacon instead of toast and the salt n pepper calamari with tartare alternative, tomato sauce. The food arrived very quickly, the kitchen staff maki up for the bar staff. Breakfast was hot and tasty, we discovered they had charged us without saying for the bread bacon swap. Eggs bacon and sausages were great, hash brown was a let down. Calamari was grease free but slightly under. I probably would return here unless I was just thirsty.

If you’re waiting for a plane and you want to wish your friends or relatives a fond farewell by having lunch together, I would strongly recommend NOT going here. I was here with my extended family before they flew back to Australia, and oh my word, what a sickeningly slow bunch of people. This is an airport terminal, not a lazy Sunday brunch on the beach! They took forever to bring our order — about a 35 –45 min wait — and even forgot to bring beer which should’ve been given to us over the counter. I get my $ 14 calamari and it’s only got about 6– 8 tiny pieces on it. It’s barely enough for a snack, never mind a proper lunch time meal. I tried ordering some fries, but then that only confused the waitress even more than she was already. She didn’t seem to know anything. I hope she’s new and plans to get better. After a terribly long wait, the meals were exceedingly average and there was no apology from anyone despite our complaints. How awful can you get? Bad value for money. Bad service. Dark and dreary atmosphere. Avoid it like you would the black plague.
