I came here at the airport for a pot pie, and it came with like an Asian kind of salad. The pot pie was decent, though I’ve had better inside of New Zealand. The salad though was pretty bad, and it lacked flavor, was very watery at points, and was just not that pleasant to eat. I would probably try to find a different place to eat at if I was in the airport here again.

This is a good place to get your coffee buzz and a bite to eat before being strapped into your plane for the next few hours. Knowing that we were due to have a meal on the plane, I only wanted something light to keep me going. I ordered the pikelets with jam and cream. The manager came out to advise that he was not satisfied with the first batch and that he had ordered a new batch to be cooked. The portions were nice and filling and kept kept me going. Next time I fly, I know where I will be going.

Great selections of sandwiches, pies, and deli items for a quick bite. I particularly enjoyed the beef and Guinness pie. They also offer burgers and breakfast entrees if you have time to sit and eat. The dining area is bright and open. Great space to watch the airplanes dock.

I just wanted to say a big thankyou to Shaky Isles on behalf of all us caffeine dependant, sleep deprived, early morning travellers. I know 4am is early to open but your dedication to get people caffeinated does not go unnoticed. Now, if only Auckland Airport would let you have your own wi-fi system for your customers, like you do in your other Auckland cafes — 30mins is simply not long enough!

Got breakfast from here before the 830am flight to Australia with a friend. Love the original café in Britomart area in the CBD. So lucky to have this as an option for good airport food. Got their organic granola with Puhoi yogurt, apricots and milk. Came in a very cool glass jar to mix all the ingredients together. Also had excellent cabinet food– friend got the apple cinnamon muffin, but also eyed a cronut, slices as well as savoury choices in sandwiches and salads. Sadly couldn’t see any milkshakes but they did do coffee– which my friend needed. They also offer brunch and pizza. Cool place for food at any hour if you’re waiting in the airport for your flight

I have to agree with the other review — this is an EXCELLENT place for an airport, best food I have ever had in an airport. I realize that is a low bar to jump over, but still worth noting. Highly recommend the lamb and kumara pie here.

Airport food always requires a lowering of expectations and upon arriving to Auckland International airport and feeling disoriented by multiple time zones, I wasn’t expecting a lot in the way of a energy bringing breakfast. Insert Shaky Isles, where for no more than your standard café breakfast prices my colleague and I were able to enjoy(yes, you read right) an airport breakfast with thick grainy toast, soft boiled eggs, mushrooms, spinach and for me a side of smoked salmon. It was presented on an on-trend wooden cutting board and the eggs in a blue egg carton. The meal itself was like a hug from a friend, especially after the long flight from San Francisco, and I’m 99% sure if my stomach could do a happy dance it was busting out moves like nobody’s business as this wholesome combination was eaten.
