Came here at night. All I have to say is Coffee Porter and a Carmel Bar. So freaking good.

This was located near the wharf, and I stopped by here before taking the ferry across to Waiheke Island. The coffee was pretty decent, I got the flat white and for the most part, I have found that most places in New Zealand serve at least good coffee. The pot pies were passable though, I didn’t really care for them and they didn’t really taste all that great(I had the Pork with Kumara, and a Chicken one).

Went to buy two $ 4.50 beers(writen on the menu) and payed $ 25. There must be some have here charge or something but it’s quite disappointing. Beers are good though. Plus they opened the beer before we paid and got overcharged.

I wasn’t sure about a little coffee shop at the bus terminus of Britomart, but I was really surprised. Friendly service and got to try a great cold coffee based milk drink, made fresh daily! But if coffee is not your thing they have a little beer garden area and a home brew exchange fridge. I wish this could work in Australia!

Great place! Super friendly staff and great location. I had a chai latte which was soooo good but they have a great selection of coffee and teas as well as alcoholic drinks as well.

A great location for a café right opposite Britomart and at the beginning of Queen Street. You can tell there are a lot of tourists there because they are looking at Guide Books and maps. However, in fairness I don’t think it’s a tourist trap. Sometimes I would have to wait twenty minutes for the next bus to Te Atatu so I would often stop in here for a quick coffee. The standard of the coffee was pretty good and I found the staff quite friendly. With all the people scurrying around it’s not the sort of place to come if you want to concentrate. I was trying to write notes for an assignment here when I was at AUT last year and it was impossible. It would be a lively place to meet a friend for a beer and kick off a good night out in the city.

Whenever I sit in No.1 Queen Street, I feel like I’m in the cube from the movie –wait for it — «The Cube.» That’s not a complaint — I love the idea of glass boxes, and having a coffee or beer here is pretty great as you can watch everything going on around and about you. The staff are all friendly and quick — which is good consdiering how busy this place can get, especially in the morning and afternoon rush. They serve a good selection of craft beers on tap, and are open late enough to serve as a perfectly adequate drinking establishment.

I love the location of No.1 Queen Street Bar & Café, right opposite the ferry building and britomart, honestly what a spot to work that foot traffic. Outdoor seating under large umbrella does prove super popular on a hot sunny day as we have been getting for the last three months. You even get a few different options of seating high tables with stools, couches, and tables and chairs to dine on comfortably. If your biking through on your way up town, or coming off or onto a ferry out to Devonport and beyond there are bike racks to stack up on, while you enjoy the good coffee and yummy treats at No.1. The staff are funky and friendly, and always happy to serve a new customer. I would recommend this café to a visitor to Auckland; it really is a superb people watching spot.

This glass-clad café occupies possibly the most prominent and foot-trafficked location in Auckland being at the foot of the golden mile and near the city’s major public transport interchange. It’s no wonder that the place clearly gets plenty of ad revenue, not to mention plenty of customers! As a café it works fantastically well on the sunny days, with a nice big outdoor area with umbrellas providing a perfect setting for those coffee meetings or just a spot of people watching. The coffee’s pretty good(depending on who’s serving), but the food’s not fantastic — there are better spots nearby if you’re after a meal. Service can be a bit crap(too cool for you), but it’s always pumping a good chilled out beat out of the stereo which gives it a neat vibe. Just a hat tip, the dreadlocked barrista should teach classes in mocha making. He’s epic.

No. 1 Queen Street Café is aptly named so due to its location, I have been twice, the second time was to give it the benefit of the doubt. The coffee was okay, though I would much rather walk 5 minutes to get to Britomart for better. There is a lot of seating available, some sheltered, some out in the sun with large umbrellas so nice on a fine day. I think there is a lot better but each to their own and if you’re down this way and can’t be bothered walking further No. 1 Queen Street Café is better than anything the Downtown Mall has going for it.
