Toshi

You cannot go wrong with their sushi. Purchased a platter of sushi for a function. Very generous and delicious.

I absolutely love dining at Toshi. I have been coming here most weekends because the food is absolutely delicious! They serve predominantly Japanese food, but also have a Korean menu as well.
I have tried nearly everything off the menu, but below are a few of my favourites:
— Takoyaki (Octopus Balls) — I have eaten these in many Japanese restaurants around Auckland and I still believe Toshi does the best ones and for the best price!
— Yako Gyoza (Deep Fried Dumplings) — Very good!
— Teriyaki Chicken or Fish Bento Box — both very tasty and filling!
— Bibimbap — Korean mixed rice with meat and assorted vegetables. Highly recommend!
— Teriyaki Chicken (served with rice, miso, salad) — one of my favourite dishes! The Teriyaki Chicken comes out on a sizzling hot plate (which is exciting) and the flavours are amazing!
— Bulgogi (Korean Beef BBQ dish) — The bulgogi was perfect. I would definitely order this again.
Toshi also does catering — the sushi platters are delicious and I highly recommend ordering a few for your next party!
I think Toshi is one of the best restaurants in Remuera for quality of food, great prices and friendly service. And this why I keep coming back!

Tucked away down the side of a mall in Remuera, this place might be a little hard to find, but obviously people make the effort to find it because it gets pretty busy for a little restaurant. They have a large selection of sushi to choose from, some of them are the biggest pieces of sushi that I have ever seen. I don’t actually know how you would eat one of these without it falling apart. They also sell tuna nigiri, which is pretty rare, but unfortunately the pieces that I had didn’t taste all that fresh to be honest. The salmon nigiri and sashimi is beautiful though.
Sushi is not the only thing that they have here; there are also a number of other Asian fusion dishes to go for. The bento boxes are large and especially delicious.
