Dined here with a party of 5 on New Year’s Eve. First visit. The ambience was great. Loved the wide open windows to the street. Service was good but not over the top. I think the staff were tired(understandably) because once our meals were delivered they forgot about us for the rest of the night. I had to go and ask if dessert was available, only to be told that they were closing in 20 minutes(11.00pm). We quickly ordered dessert and it arrived. I think there may have been. Communication issue because people were still there when we left. Th food was really good. They accommodate our dietary needs((gluten intolerance, onion, seafood and garlic allergy) and changed many things so the meals worked for us. Very nice Pad Thai(minus the prawns), drunken noodles, sweet and sour chicken. The food could have been hotter but we were happy. Very pleased with the reasonably priced wine. I would recommend this restaurant. We will be back.

Very disappointed on recent visit. Only 4 prawns in the seafood curry service very poor. They were not interested in us only to pay the bill. Will not be going back. and we are local.

Monsoon is amazing! I love their food and I am a reasonably new Thai lover — it’s almost fresh and delicious. I have never eaten in I have only had take away the restaurant is typical of a Thai place and in Devo if it’s not too busy it’s not that vibrant and doesn’t really have much ambience but who cares because the food is outstanding! The only downside is that is it’s quite expensive for Thai takeaway — but it’s bloody good.

I am a huge lover of Thai food and I love to come here when I am out on the shore. I come here when visiting my friends that live in Bayswater and we come here to catch up. It’s a great little place and the BYO definitely sways my decision to come here. It’s pretty versatile that they have a «for the less adventurous» menu with options such as fish and chips and chicken salad for little kids or those boring types that don’t appreciate a good cultural dish. I love the prawn and cashew nuts dish, and my friends favourites are the pad thai and the prawn mee goreng. The service is always very friendly here and they don’t mind how rowdy my friends and I get which is always a plus.

Everyone loves Thai, and Monsoon in Devonport does the cuisine proud in a lovely spot. My partner and I can sometimes be found here on a Saturday evening at an outdoor table on the footpath, chatting and people watching on the quaint old Victoria Road. I’m an absolute sucker for anything satay and they do it beautifully here, good size portion and good reasonable pricing for this location — around the $ 20-$ 25 mark for a main. Nice intimate scale too like all the spots on Victoria Road. Perfect spot for a cruisy dinner with the other half or some friends.

This has been one of my favourite take-away spots for years now, its the go-to when we can’t be bothered cooking. Dining-in is mellow, great for BYO and they cater well for large tables as well, I’ve had many a boozy dinner here with friends and the service is always really friendly and quick. The food is consistently good although I must say their portions aren’t quite what they used to be. Lots of vegetarian options too, my favourite is the stir-fried vegetables and tofu in oyster sauce, so tasty.
