Great place to stop in if you fancy a quick bite or takeaway breakfast sandwich. Ordered the bacon and egg roll with caramelised onion. Perfect way to start the day. Don’t go if you fancy a cosy sit down, more of an in and out place.

Came here for breakfast and was blown away!!! Loved it so much, I came back for breakfast 3 days in a row. Located in downtown Auckland next to several other breakfast spots… you wouldn’t think much of this place and would certainly have a hard time picking this place over others based on the exterior. Thanks to a few previous Unilocal reviews, I settled on this gem. Walking in you’re greeting with a very«French» feeling café. The ambiance was great; bright, fresh, and clean. Perfect for a morning breakfast spot! The menu is simple, only a few items for breakfast. But those items are amazing and you really cannot go wrong with any selection. I ordered an orange juice and one of there breakfast burgers(pork and fennel sausage)… after a short wait… holy cow!!! Amazing. It was a party in mouth! The bun was fantastic, egg was wonderfully cooked, burger was excellent. Prices are so reasonable, you do not have a reason to not go here. Highly recommended!!!

The first thing you’ll notice here is the great atmosphere. Laid back and yet on point. Nice music in the background, top notch barista, great(!!) coffee! I was delighted to see that the Unilocal reviews were correct. I ordered a flat white — it was perfection in a cup. I’m a coffee lover, and don’t give free compliments. This one deserves it. I got the vege patty sandwich here. OK. Loss for words! This… Creation of perfection will leave you speechless with its soft as can be bread bun, and exquisite interior. Warm and tasty, the level of deliciousness is «Holy Mother» status! You will know how good it was when you’ll find yourself picking crumbs from the bottom of the paper bag it came in. You’ll know it was awesome when you almost order another one in one seating. You’ll know you’re addicted when you plot your next visit ASAP. I almost went into the kitchen to bless the cook! Read my other review, no one gets this level hallelujah from me. OK Ceremony, you delivered — you get 5 stars and a standing ovation! They have wifi They accept cash and cards They are über awesome

New found love. Great people, great coffee, and great food. The place– small low key café near the Grafton bridge. Limited seating. Mostly communal tables. Popular amongst locals but doesn’t get crazy packed and you can always share a table with others. The food– simple menu. Burgers and salads. Brioches bun. Changes the special menu every two weeks. Currently has five spice pork belly on special. Well marinated, fatty but not sickening. A must try! The coffee– they keep the menu simple but you can pretty much ask for whatever you like. They service their single origins using a thermosbrewer. Hate to say the machine looks like an American drip coffee machine but the small quantity batch and the freshness makes up for the taste. Flat whites are also great. Silky smooth done just right. The service– no complaint Added bonus– wifi. Definitely my new coffice.

Killer sandwiches. Lovely décor. Nice coffee. Staff is always friendly and greet folks as they come in. You’ll regularly find the place chock full of young cool folks, but don’t be dissuaded from entering if you’re an office stiff like me! The food is worth wading through the parfum de hipster, I promise. You’ll enjoy the sandwiches and maybe some of that cool will rub off. Win-win.

Finally, there is a hip new addition to the strip of eateries across the road from Auckland Hospital. Without a great deal of ceremony from the outside and an equally simple interior, Ceremony reserves it’s fanfare for its quality produce. The coffee is single origin, the sandwiches and salads are fresh and gourmet, and there is even Bircher Muesli and Brioche toast with jam for those in search of a satisfying breakfast. Sandwich options include smoked bacon, egg, cheddar and onion jam(that’s just one!), pork snd fennel sausage, egg and mayo and portable lot mushroom, egg and veg patty with chipotle ketchup. Look out for the specials that slide onto the menu as effortlessly and unceremoniously as all true best things in this great new place.

Connor Nestor and his friend, coffee guru Charles Williams at Ceremony invited us into their funky space for one of the ‘Sweet talks’ held this month in association with Gather & Hunt. Tonight’s subject was ‘A City that feeds’, a conversation with Rebecca Mills. How do we feed a city while also supporting the people producing the food that we eat? How do we reduce food waste? These are just some of the questions we tackled last night. It’s a topic very close to the hearts of all that took the time to attend and brainstorm on the future of food. I loved how eclectic the ideas from all around the world from the mouths of very interesting and intelligent people. Dessert in the form of a gorgeous gluten free top quality chocolate cake was created by Jordan from The Caker and her sister Anouk. I must go back during the day as Ceremony serves a range of breakfast sandwiches using custom created brioche buns filled with several different interesting fillings. Everything is made to order, not sitting in a cabinet. And their coffee is good. Check out all the hand blown glass balls hanging from the ceiling. I loved them! When you are next in the area or visiting across the road at the Hospital stop by and see the guys.

I have never considered Grafton a dining destination. Ceremony was on my «must-try» list and I was eager to mask the effects of a fun Saturday evening the night before. Ceremony has a very cool industrial aesthetic — concrete floors and bar, exposed brick walls. The wall displays a large printed menu — it’s pretty simple, consisting of breakfast sandwiches, muesli, and drinks. The coffee is excellent(Flight Coffee). I devoured the Angus beef and chorizo patty — with an egg — on a brioche bun. So good! My sandwich and two coffees came to $ 20. For something a little different, Ceremony beats the overabundance of mundane cafes offering standard fare of eggs benedict. I’ll be keeping Ceremony on my «must-try»(again) list for some time to come.

Nice to have somewhere a bit different in Grafton to grab some lunch. I wasn’t super impressed with the first sandwich I tried, but the second(Moroccan special) was divine! The sandwiches are more like burgers in a brioche bun. While on the pricey side, they definitely are something different from the norm and are worth the occasional treat. Haven’t tried the coffee yet but have heard great things on the street!

Ceremony is the well needed shot in the arm that Grafton has been screaming for for a long time now. The lack of quality food in Grafton, a main artery into town and a prime location has always astounded me. Ceremony has given me a reason to actually stop in Grafton now after dropping my partner to work at the hospital. The boys are super welcoming, friendly and take the business of coffee and sandwiches seriously. I was there for breakfast and got a coffee and a Smoked Bacon, Egg, Cheddar, Caramelised Onion Jam and Chipotle Sandwich. The Coffee was well made and gave me that caffeine fix I need at 7:30am. The sandwich was awesome the brioche bun was light and buttery the chiptole had a tiny bit of a kick and the bacon was tasty and perfectly cooked. It was a well crafted sarnie, and I look forwards to trying out another sandwich on the menu soon. The décor is clean, minimal and cool. If you’re in the area and looking for a bite to eat, I suggest you pop in and say hi to the boys at Ceremony.

Friendliest guys around. The staff are very friendly and certainly don’t stand on ceremony. Great Flight coffee. I had the special — meat filling was tender, moist and the brioche bun perfect and not soggy. These rolls pack a punch, similar to hamburgers but better. I like the big thick napkins that are given with the brioches to mop up any juices rather than the see-through thin paper napkins you get elsewhere. Nice to grab an outside bench table on a sunny day. Will definitely be back to try another brioche.

I loved this place! It’s a really cool addition to a bit of a tired strip of shops beside the hospital. Handy if you’re visiting the hospital or out for a stroll across Grafton Bridge and The Domain. Menu is super simple but hits the spot. It consists of sandwiches(American style so they are burgers) and they have a special of the day. Will absolutely be back at Ceremony!

What a pleasure to meet the new boys on the block, bringing the life back into Grafton Ceremony Grafton! This morning I had the pleasure of meeting Conor and Charles while enjoying my flawless Flight Coffee in this outrageously cool Wundaire mug. Perfect for wrapping my hands around on this cold Auckland day! This is one wicked café that has been well thought out with some serious attention to detail, yet nails simplicity on the head! The food looks and smells amazing and need to come with an empty stomach next time. The view over the city through the bifold doors is something special on a sunny morning.

While walking to Newmarket we bumped into this place, the sound of good music and people chatting caught our attention! First good sign was flight coffee! Amazing coffee from Wellington, only to be found In an handful of cafes in Auckland. Next up was there sandwiches– which are really burgers and not bad burgers at all! Worth checking out — wonderful service as well.

Too massively hungover to even work the eftpos machine, the boys at Ceremony took me in stride and even managed to put a smile on this poorly face. I had powered up the hill to work to collect some important shit(read: wallet), and was stumbling home when I remembered someone mentioning this new place opening on Park Rd.(Actually, what they said was: ‘Please god let it be better than the other places up there’). Well I can tell you it is. Friendly as anything, they were. The décor is minimalist vintage cool(isn’t everything these days?). The clientele on this Saturday morning veered towards the Auckland cool-set which may put some people off: particularly the scrubs-wearing night-working footsore folk that usually tread this strip. I had a flat white which was everything I like in a coffee — hot and smooth and not requiring any sugar to mask the cruel cruel burn. I wanted to stay and try a sandwich(their specialty) but that will have to wait till next time. Thanks for saving my Saturday, Ceremony!
