Delicious and creative little boutique bakery on Calle Loiza! From the outside there is a window into the kitchen and you can see these little gems getting prepared. The Beer-Con(yes, beer and bacon) cupcakes are my favorite! The sweet and salty contrast of the cream cheese frosting and just barely crisped bacon is perfection! I also recommend the Tres Leches cupcake. The cake is soaked just like in a traditional Tres Leches. Sweet milky deliciousness. They have some options with twists on local pastries, but not the place you go if you’re looking for an authentic Puerto Rican bakery. It’s okay, that’s not what they’re going for! Plenty of coffee and tea options are available. Not the best coffee you can get in the area, but still hits the spot with your sweets. My favorite spot to satisfy my cupcake cravings in town!

I had an excellent coffee and pastry here one morning for breakfast. The only I wish they did was more traditional morning pastries.

As a baking and pastry student, I can be pretty picky about my cupcakes. This place isn’t the best place ever… I’ve had better cupcakes in my life, but it’s got some potential. I had the lemon and basil cupcake. It caught my attention and I wanted to try something different. It was flavorful and the basil was very subtle, but I think their cake could break a little less. I hate how some places do dense cupcakes, that make you feel like you are carrying a child after you eat it, but, at least the one I had, wasn’t like that. I don’t know if I would come back though. They surely need some improvement on their recipes.

Best cupcake of my life — or really close second! We tried several pastries there, they all tasted deliciously light and fresh. The coffee is awesome too. Plus, the place has a really cute 50s feel to it, with super comfy couches. Definitely a must go if you’re in this area!

This place is GREAT on every level. The staff is as sweet as their lovely cakes, breads and macaroons. Best cappuccino in town. They have a great product and usually the businesses take advantage of the customers by price gouging. That’s not the case here at all. They sell FRESH cakes at a GOOD price. This is the OPPOSITE of Kasalta.

After finding street parking, my mom, sister and i spotted this place walking around Ave. Loiza. It had creative décor and we saw that there was a visible area right next to it where people were baking stuff. At first i though this was a cooking class place but then we decided to go into this boutique bakery. It isn’t very big but it has a cozy feel to it. There were so many delicious cupcake options that when my sister said– this is on me… we had a hard time choosing flavors. We went with red velvet, cookie dough, coconut dream, and nutella. All a delicious way to break your diet. The only downside was that it was a bit pricey. I did hear that the coffee isn’t great which would be a shame because you are in puerto rico where there is great coffee options. I will return to try the coffee(and probably cupcakes) and update my review.

Went here this morning with the hubby and daughter… Parked at a nearby street and had a short walk under the rain to the location… Daughter loved that part! Anyhow, I had a cup of coffee, my daughter lemonade and hubs blueberry strawberry lemonade… everything fresh and delicious. Had a few pastries to share which were all delicious, but my fave were the«quesito» and the lemon bar… Yum! Quesito crispy, flaky and not too sweet! The décor really hip, colorful and quirky… Loved it also. Will definitely return!

I really want to rate this place higher, but I can’t bring myself to do it… Don’t get me wrong, they’re a boutique bakery, and the cupcakes my girlfriend and I had were phenomenal!!! But if you’re going to sell only bakery items, you need to have a quality coffee to go with it, not some«Put Cup Here, Press Button For Café Latte» machine. German chocolate cupcakes: amazing. Coffee: disgusting. And $ 12 for 2 of each is a bit pricy. They don’t offer anything else in the way of breads, sandwiches, other breakfast foods, etc… so basically, unless you’re in the market for a few cookies or cupcakes for the office, you’re probably better off going to one of the other bakeries in the area. Sorry guys. Good(great) cupcakes can only take you so far…

Nothing special… in fact very mediocre. I prefer the traditional PR pastries as it seems DOUBLECAKE tries too hard to be urban or targeting designer pastries from the US. THe taste, quality and skill isnt here. They should take a pastry course and the reason I say that is because .Ive tried it several times and liked it the first time but the last two times gone it never taste the same. no consistency.

I received a gift, and it was from this little baking studio, which was perfect! Even though I tried only one thing from here, the French macarons, they were perfectly made and delicious — and not so overly sweet like in some other places I know. At first, you might think that French macarons are ubiquitous in any big city. That may be true — but I have never seen some of the flavors in other cities such as the Fruity Pebbles macarons(which tastes exactly like the cereal and is recommended to eat with a glass of milk ;)). This place is great if you’re looking for some creative baked goods on the isla del encanto, for a present or for yourself. Kudos to Double Cake!
