The cubano sandwich is really good, the bread is outstanding and everyone there is friendly. I would absolutely have lunch here again. FYI, no one really spoke english here.

Crowded at 8am in San Juan, which is saying a lot. When I went in there were like 15 cops in there getting sandwiches, so I guess this is San Juan’s dunkin donuts(sorry). I tried both the tuna melt and the Jerezana. Definitely recommend the latter but both are great and not at all healthy. Bread is toasted extremely crispy and oil is just dripping everywhere. Café con leche is awesome, and cheap.

Best bread in San Juan. Not easy to find but always crowded. Their sandwich selection is ½ the price of the tourist area and 5 times better!

This is my family’s favorite bakery. Some other stores near by carry their bread but if you have the chance, come out here and get some fresh bread for yourself. They have one of the only brick ovens on the island which gives their bread a rather unique taste and a fantastic exterior texture. Their sandwiches here are very much Puerto Rican in style-cheese and meat cuts in toasted criollo bread. They’ll cut them up in as many sizes as you like. The cuts are thin, the cheese melted, and the bread perfectly toasted such that eating their sandwiches is a piece of pie. I recommend the Jerezana(similar to a cubano sandwich) or the tuna melt. They also have Puerto Rican style sugar donuts and pastelillos de guayaba if you get there early enough. Don’t miss out on them if they have them in stock! These are some of the freshest and tastiest pastries around.
